Bush Authorizes New Covert Action Against Iran

The CIA has received secret presidential approval to mount a covert "black" operation to destabilize the Iranian government, current and former officials in the intelligence community tell the Blotter on ABCNews.com.

The sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the subject, say President Bush has signed a "nonlethal presidential finding" that puts into motion a CIA plan that reportedly includes a coordinated campaign of propaganda, disinformation and manipulation of Iran's currency and international financial transactions.

"I can't confirm or deny whether such a program exists or whether the president signed it, but it would be consistent with an overall American approach trying to find ways to put pressure on the regime," said Bruce Riedel, a recently retired CIA senior official who dealt with Iran and other countries in the region.

CBS News Producer Kia Baskerville Was With The President

WASHINGTON

(CBS) Kia Baskerville is a CBS News White House producer. She was traveling with President Bush when the terror attacks occurred on Sept. 11, 2001

"I went on the Florida trip at the last minute, replacing our White House Correspondent John Roberts. The day started out very early in the morning with the president jogging on a local golf course -- it was hot, muggy and too many mosquitoes. The most we were expecting from him was a brief comment on the day’s topic -- education, and hopefully taxes -- if we were lucky.

A couple of hours later, as the presidential motorcade headed to President Bush’s first event, I received a call on my cell phone from a producer who said that a plane had just hit the World Trade Center in New York.

I recently discovered this "BBC Choice News Special" that aired on September 12, 2001. Some of the footage was new to me and some was not. There are multiple eyewitness accounts of explosions within the clip.

The Frederick News Post (http://www.fredericknewspost.com) is reporting that Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Wall, who succumbed to liver illness in 2003 has been honored in a ceremony at Fort Detrick in Maryland. Sgt. Wall had a 17-year career in the Army, had served "in Korea and Germany as well as serving on an elite team supporting the U.S. Secret Service."

Sgt. Wall had been suffering from liver disease, and according the article was told by doctors in December 2001 that he had two years left to live.

“In a ceremony Thursday, nearly 50 members of the 21st Signal Brigade at Fort Detrick and family members gathered to dedicate a conference room in the brigade headquarters in his memory."

On Feb. 27, 1933, a fire destroyed part of the Reichstag building. Hitler immediately accused the Communists of having set the fire. President von Hindenburg proclaimed a state of emergency and issued decrees suspending freedom of speech and assembly. Severe measures were taken against the Communist party, and its deputies were barred from the Reichstag.

BOSTON TEA PARTY REMEMBERED WITH WASHINGTON SHREDDING PARTY

DC911Truth patriots are planning a mock shredding of the 9/11 Commission Report on Saturday, December 16, in Lafayette Park, in front of the White House, from 11:00 am to Noon. The group is outraged by the Report's whitewash and lack of investigation into one of the greatest criminal acts on American soil. After each lie in the Report is read out, it will be fed into a giant "shredder" as a fitting disposal of its findings. The event will feature several speakers, including Webster Tarpley and other local 9/11 truth activists.

This event is one of a series of events sponsored by 9/11 truth groups across the country, on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. Related events are planned in Boston, San Francisco, Milwaukee, and St. Louis.

The discredited 9/11 myth, based on the Kean-Hamilton report, is rapidly emerging as the only argument remaining to the diehard neocon proponents for continuing the futile and hopeless war in Iraq. DC911Truth will urge the new Congress to reject the 9/11 Commission findings and requests that they not adopt any of the recommendations contained in that fraudulent report, which noted theologian David Ray Griffin has called the "571-page lie."

Actor James Brolin Latest Celebrity To Publicly Doubt 9/11

Actor James Brolin, the husband of Barbara Streisand, has today become the latest celebrity figure to publicly question the official story behind 9/11, after he encouraged viewers of a top rated ABC talk show to check out a 9/11 truth website.

Brolin appeared as a guest on The View Wednesday morning and according to e mails we have been receiving in numbers, towards the end of the show the actor questioned 9/11 and urged the audience to check out the website 911weknow.com, which is a website that purports to expose how the twin towers and Building 7, which wasn't hit by a plane, were brought down via controlled demolition.

The 9/11 truth movement is characterized by an increasingly credible veneer - largely thanks to the 9/11 scholars. As media attention builds to a deafening crescendo in anticipation of the fifth anniversary of the attacks, it is necessary to step back and distance ourselves from the more outlandish 9/11 theories and offset their damaging effects.

Over the course of the next week we will continue to take a critical and discerning look at the 9/11 truth movement, celebrating both its obvious measured progress while also highlighting areas of concern that need to be resolved before the next rung on the ladder to bringing criminal charges against the guilty parties can be climbed.

Our sole purpose in this piece is to weed out and discredit an element of 9/11 embraced by 'conspiracy theorists' as oppose to 'skeptics' of the official story.
