cartoonist with 9/11 truth parody

Matt Bors is Portland OR based cartoonist who's done work for The Nation and ACLU and yet he does this hit piece on the truth movement.
Note that websites at the bottom of his cartoon are fake.

I've been talking about the 9/11 so-called truth movement lately and how they have grown increasingly irritating as time goes on and all their claims have been answered or debunked. (for all my liberal friends reading this who buy into it, please order this issue of skeptic magazine). Hurricane Katrina gave birth to the claim the the levy was blown up so capitalists could build condos in the 9th ward (I guess gentrification wasn't working) so I figured this would spawn some crapola as well. I was right.

HR 1955: PDA will email your Senators

(It is more effective to call your Senators, but it helps to send this email as well. I've done both).
Stop the Police State Bill

If you believe that America is a democracy and should not be turned into a police state like Burma, Pakistan, and China, then join with us to STOP The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007, S. 1959.

This flawed and dangerous bill , introduced by Rep. Jane Harman, could be the final triumph of fear over reason as the Federal government makes thought a crime under the guise of preemptive National Security, if we allow the Senate to pass it.

Please email your Senators now, and tell them to vote NO on the The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007. We encourage you to edit the title and text using your own words.

This is what I sent via PDA:

Libelous presentations by the Simon Wiesenthal Center at the House hearings have made the intent of this law clear.

Washington, D.C. – The ACLU continues to have serious concerns regarding the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 (H.R. 1955). Caroline Fredrickson, Director of the Washington Legislative Office of the ACLU said, "Law enforcement should focus on action, not thought. We need to worry about the people who are committing crimes rather than those who harbor beliefs that the government may consider to be extreme."

Online Petition: IN OPPOSITION to H.R. 1955 and S. 1959: Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007

To: U.S. Senate

On April 19th of this year, a resolution entitled "H.R. 1955: Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007" was introduced to the U.S. House of Representatives and sponsored by:

Rep. Jane Harman [D-CA]; Rep. Christopher Carney [D-PA]; Del. Donna Christensen [D-VI]; Rep. Yvette Clarke [D-NY]; Rep. Charles Dent [R-PA]; Rep. Norman Dicks [D-WA]; Rep. Al Green [D-TX]; Rep. James Langevin [D-RI]; Rep. Zoe Lofgren [D-CA]; Rep. Nita Lowey [D-NY]; Rep. Daniel Lungren [R-CA]; Rep. Ed Perlmutter [D-CO]; Rep. Ted Poe [R-TX]; Rep. Dave Reichert [R-WA]; and Rep. Bennie Thompson [D-MS].

H.R. 1955 would virtually give our government the power to arrest, prosecute and incarcerate ANY AMERICAN CITIZEN who voices opposition to the U.S. Government for any reason, not merely domestic terrorists and violent political radicals.

"The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act"
Rep. Jane Harman's "Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act" is not written exactly like the Nazi 1933 Discriminatory Decrees that suspended the Reich Constitution, but it can bring America to the same place by trashing America's civil liberties. Harman's bill has the potential of driving lawful political and other activists underground into American cell groups. Perhaps expectantly creating the domestic terrorists the Bush Administration has said we need to be protected from.

Law Organizations Oppose Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act

On October 23, 2007, the House of Representatives passed the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 by a vote of 404-6. The bill will be referred out of committee this week and will then go to the Senate floor. The National Lawyers Guild and the Society of American Law Teachers strongly oppose this legislation because it will likely lead to the criminalization of beliefs, dissent and protest, and invite more draconian surveillance of Internet communications.

This bill would establish a Commission to study and report on "facts and causes" of "violent radicalism" and "extremist belief systems." It defines "violent radicalism" as "adopting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically based violence to advance political, religious, or social change." The term "extremist belief system" is not defined; it could refer to liberalism, nationalism, socialism, anarchism, communism, etc.

Managed to take a few screen shots from:

Simon Wiesenthal Center presents 9/11 sites alongside radical Jihadist sites to House Hearing on "Terrorism and the Internet"

EDIT: Revised title and inserted video. -rep.

Writers Wanted: Gilmore Commission at Rand wrote Terror Legislation

The following speech was made by Rep. Bennie Thompson [D-MS], chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.
Bennie Thompson refers to the Gilmore Commission, whose last report was issued in 2003. Don't know where he came up with the 1993-98 timespan. The Gilmore Commission information is located at the RAND website.

THIS MEANS HR 1955 WAS WRITTEN BY THE RAND CORPORATION AS WELL AS ALL OTHER TERROR LEGISLATION THAT HAS BEEN ENACTED IN THE UNITED STATES. I do not have the time or writing skills to do this issue justice. i hope someone can pick up this ball and run with it.

Bennie Thompson's speech:
"Madam Speaker, I rise in strong support of H.R. 1955, the Violent Radicalization of Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007.

Urgent Call to Action: S 1959/HR 1955 About to Pass

This bill can make all who participate in non-violent, civil disobedience labeled a potential terrorist. Your words could be considered "promoting an extremist belief system", and YOU ARE THE TERRORIST (WHICH MEANS THEY CAN STRIP YOUR CITIZENSHIP, AND HAVE YOU TORTURED AND EXECUTED).

As my daughter threw herself onto Independence Ave last month in her passionate plea to stop the second deployment of her brother and respect the earth at the "No War, No Warming" protest, she did not know about this upcoming senate bill. This bill that passed 404-6 in the house is poised to pass in our Senate. This bill looks to make myself, my daughter and all others who participate in non-violent, civil disobedience a potential terrorist.
Please call your senator and oppose S 1959.

(You can post responses here. The guy at Republican Senator Smith's office was warm when I mentioned S. 1959, until I told him why I opposed it. The lady at Democrat Senator Wyden's office was very receptive.)

Thank you again for all your support.

WE are the investigation.

I'm sure this will get "dissed" in the ratings and comments. Why call for a GOVERNMENT investigation of 9/11? What government investigation has ever resulted in meaningful social change?

What about universal awareness of 9/11 Truth by the citizens of this planet? THAT could begin to force governments to behave. There is another truth movement that is quietly following the 9/11 Truth movement. Technology has been suppressed that would make dependence on carbon fuels obsolete. We have controlled technology just like controlled mainstream media. Here is one good introductory website about suppressed technology(even if the site owner is trying to make a buck) :http://befreetech.com/energysuppression.htm

Imagine a new age of advancement for the human race. That is why I have been an optimistic truther since 9/11/2001.

Thom Hartmann to Host 9/11 Truth Debate on Air America

Live links at:

On Thursday, November 8th, from 1 to 2 PM Eastern, popular progressive Air America host and author, Thom Hartmann, will host a debate between Kevin Ryan, 9/11 UL whistleblower and co-editor of the online Journal of 911 Studies, and Michael Shermer, publisher of "Skeptic Magazine" and Executive Director of the Skeptics Society. Click here to Listen Live at the time of the show.

For some background on these participants, see:

Kevin Ryan:
Kevin Ryan is former Site Manager for Environomental Health Laboratories, a division of Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Mr. Ryan, a Chemist and laboratory manager, was fired by UL in 2004 for publicly questioning the report being drafted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on their World Trade Center investigation. In the intervening period, Ryan has completed additional research while his original questions, which have become increasingly important over time, remain unanswered by UL or NIST.

Embezzled Money Is Used to Pay Insurance Claims

It is a well kept secret that insurance companies are not required to account for the source of money to pay claims. The relationship between 9/11 and insurance industry money laundering needs further investigation by researchers who have more time and resources than I do.

Larry Silverstein's settlement for the WTC destruction of 9/11 was fraudulent. He received much more than the appraised value of the buildings. Why did the insurance companies not prosecute Silverstein for fraud? It wasn't insurance company money used to pay the settlement. http://www.911blogger.com/node/8886

No regulatory agency oversees that insurance claims are actually paid with insurance company money. Insurance companies accept embezzled money to pay claims. The embezzled money cannot be traced back to its original source.

Here is a documented example. From: http://www.mackwhite.com/Yogurt1.html

9/11 Truth Utility Pole Banners

Here's activism almost anyone can do. Post banners on utility poles at intersections with stop lights. Bored passengers and drivers are a captive audience.

These are 4" wide banners with enlarged letters. The template file is attached. It is a source of inspiration to me to see some of my surviving banners months after they are placed. The banners say:

The wording was chosen based on the K.I.S.S. principle (Keep It Simple Stupid).

The banners last indefinitely, when covered with 2" packaging tape on a metal utility pole. They can also be posted on a wooden utility pole. The banners are on card stock and can last through the Oregon monsoon season.

Use heavy card stock paper, such as semi-vellum 65 lb. BrightHue ULTRA LIME color is an attention grabber. The template file was too large to upload. Print the banner with the largest font available. I use OpenOffice IMPACT 96 point font. Use a commercial copier to cut, paste and expand the font about 150%. Print a copy and scan it at home.

Guiliani visits Portland, gets 9/11 truth on local TV news

Rudy Guiliani made a surprise visit to Portland, Oregon. Word got out to the Portland 9/11 Truth Alliance, who demonstrated outside the restaurant where Guiliani was. Local TV news caught the action.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani ducked into Portland Saturday for a private fundraiser at a supporter's home, then headed to a New York-style delicatessen to mingle with voters, where he was met by dozens of anti-war protesters equating him with the Bush administration.

Portland is traditionally Democratic country, as evidenced by the jeers that greeted Giuliani. But those inside the restaurant left their pastrami-on-pumpernickel sandwiches and lined up to have their pictures taken with the candidate, who offered praise for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and jabbed at Democratic rival Hillary Clinton during his brief visit.
