Over 120 CIA documents concerning 9/11, Osama bin Laden and counterterrorism were published today for the first time, having been newly declassified and released to the National Security Archive. The documents were released after the NSA pored through the footnotes of the 9/11 Commission and sent Freedom of Information Act requests.
Many of the documents publicize for the first time what was first made clear in the 9/11 Commission: The White House received a truly remarkable amount of warnings that al-Qaida was trying to attack the United States. From June to September 2001, a full seven CIA Senior Intelligence Briefs detailed that attacks were imminent, an incredible amount of information from one intelligence agency. One from June called “Bin-Ladin and Associates Making Near-Term Threats” writes that “[redacted] expects Usama Bin Laden to launch multiple attacks over the coming days.” The famous August brief called “Bin Ladin Determined to Strike the US” is included. “Al-Qai’da members, including some US citizens, have resided in or travelled to the US for years, and the group apparently maintains a support structure here,” it says. During the entire month of August, President Bush was on vacation at his ranch in Texas — which tied with one of Richard Nixon’s as the longest vacation ever taken by a president. CIA Director George Tenet has said he didn’t speak to Bush once that month, describing the president as being “on leave.”
NOTE: I posted the following diary at firedoglake, and also dailykos. At dailykos, it has been the top-recced diary, today, currently with 505 recommendations and 787 comments. If you look at the ETA's at the bottom, there appears to be a clear case of news blackout. Conyers calling for large demonstrations at the White House should be news - if not on the front page, than on the second page. Instead, it appears to be on NO page. No mention at ABC/NBC/NY TIMES/politico.com/talkingpointsmemo.com.
Well, thank goodness for dailykos.com and firedoglake.com.
Hallelujah! Some outspokeness from a Democratic Congress critter, at a higher level than "blame everything on the GOP".
The core of IRON MAN’s allegations was that DO5 had produced original intelligence on terrorists that would link to 9/11, including identification of targets at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. It was only as an incidental comment about what Congress should have been asking in regards to JFIC’s work (see quote below), that the IG’s response brought up the issue of stopping the tracking of Bin Laden, something the IG report not only confirms, but narrates (bold emphasis added, spellings kept as in original):
The IG report, which does not explain the 18-month delay in opening an investigation, cleared JFIC of any wrongdoing and declared that the intelligence agency had “provided a timely and accurate reply in response to the 9/11 Commission.” In evident response, IRON MAN indicated to the IG investigating staff that “he had never seen the 9/11 Commission questions or JFIC’s response, but that Congress should have asked for files concerning the tracking of Usama Bin Ladin.”
Probably most people who have studied unofficial 911 literature are familiar with the idea of a left gatekeeper. If you don't, remember that Google is your friend.
However, I see recurring evidence of what amounts to HATEKeeping. By this I mean, smear type of rhetoric, broadly applied to an entire group, that paints them as hateful. The net effect of this is that it serves to divide the public, by encouraging primitive, emotional, tribablistic 'thinking' about the evil other. It thus inhibit real communication, which could lead to united political action (say, e.g., against the clear and present danger of plutocracy).
I'm sorry that I don't have the time to develop this idea, more. I will make a few more points, and hope that I inspire somebody to look more carefully into this.
1) Imputing hatred to others is just one way to generate hatred for the others. There's also speaking of the others in a contemptuous tone of voice. This is certainly done a great deal on the radio, by right-wing gasbags such as Rush Limbaugh, and a misanthrope I've heard in the NYC area called Bob Grant.
Do yourself a favor and watch this. Thom Hartmann got a copy of the only first hand account of the Tea Party, written by a participant. My whole life, I've always wondered what the big deal was about paying a tax for some stupid tea. Now, I know!
WOULD SOMEBODY WITH MORE TIME ON THEIR HANDS PLEASE WRITE A MEATIER BLOG ON THIS, WORTHY OF BEING FRONT-PAGED?
ALSO, WE ARE CHANGE AND OTHER STREET ACTIVISM GROUPS: PLEASE PRESS THIS ONTO CD/DVD AND HAND OUT, ALSO.
Americans are woefully ignorant of False Flag operations, they are continually misled by corporatist candidates of both the Democratic and Republican brands, and their future is being continuously robbed from them. Meanwhile, young people are being saddled with $100,000 college education expenses (a scandal in and of itself, IMO) and then being thrust into a economy wreaking of a 'jobless recovery'.
Well, who ya gonna call? Ghost Busters? Nah - that was just a movie. :-) .
Perhaps the Republican or Democrat clubs that one finds on campuses will foster truth-telling about what horrors their namesake's have wrought?
Nope - ain't gonna happen.
I THINK THIS IS A JOB FOR WE ARE CHANGE.
Such thoughts have been percolating in my mind for a while, but a recent comment here at 911blogger made things gel in my mind. zombie bill hicks wrote:

Some people in the 9/11 truth movement have really been working hard recently to help bridge the gap to the anti-war movement.
Nice meta-summary of "conspiranoia" as a means of social control, and implications for 911 street activists
This essay doesn't support the author's conclusions with examples, or develop arguments all that much, beyond what we can glean from reading online summary articles regarding 911/left gatekeepers. However, it's worth a read, as it takes an analytical viewpoint that, it seems to me, can challenge the more intelligent reader who is, nevertheless, constrained in his/her thinking by ambient frames imposed by the societal structure which (coincidence or not?) protects the ruling class so well. Especially, I suppose, it precludes reaction against 911 as a government-assisted conspiracy, as there is no mention of 911, or any other specific conspiracy.
I've written about electoral politics and the failure of activism (of many worthy types, not just 911 Truth activism) from time to time, at 911 blogger, JREF, and elsewhere. E.g., recently, I wrote a diary here, and commented here.
Even though I'm all over the map, politically, and don't like categorizing myself (other than independent), the blogs and fora that deal with electoral politics, that I follow, are on the progressive side of things. (I'm also a member of the Progressive Democrats of America, even though I've never been a Democrat. Make of that what you will. :-) ). Conservative web sites that I have long considered 'best of breed' are amconmag.com and chroniclesmagazine.org, but they don't have much to say about electoral politics.

This was inspired by a snarkier, debunker-laden thread called The Greatest Fiascos of the 9-11 "Truth" Movement
Here's my list:
1) Failure to investigate 911 hijacker associations, where such investigations require no state power, whatsoever. Indeed, the failure is worse than that - there was never (AFAIK) even any attempt to organize a fundraiser for such investigations. I'm thinking particularly of verifying and/or dis-confirming the work of Daniel Hopsicker (madcowprod.com), but also looking into, e.g., who the hijackers were schmoozing with in NJ, the reports suggesting Saudi intelligence handlers of 2 of the hijackers in San Diego, etc.
Who Warned Levees Would Burst
Hurricane George, Four Years Later
On the night of August 29, 2005, van Heerden was shut in at the state emergency center in Baton Rouge, providing technical advice to the rescue effort. As Hurricane Katrina came ashore, van Heerden and the State Police there were high-fiving it: Katrina missed the city of New Orleans, turning east.
What they did not know was that the levees had cracked. For crucial hours, the White House knew, but withheld the information that the levees of New Orleans had broken and that the city was about to drown. Bush's boys did not notify the State of the flood to come which would have allowed police to launch an emergency hunt for the thousands that remained stranded.
"Fifteen hundred people drowned. That's the bottom line," said van Heerden.
To add insult to injury,
ScienceDaily (Aug. 23, 2009) — In a study published in the most recent issue of the journal Sociological Inquiry, sociologists from four major research institutions focus on one of the most curious aspects of the 2004 presidential election: the strength and resilience of the belief among many Americans that Saddam Hussein was linked to the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
One unexpected pattern that emerged from the different justifications that subjects offered for continuing to believe in the validity of the link was that it helped citizens make sense of the Bush Administration's decision to go to war against Iraq.
"We refer to this as 'inferred justification,'" says Hoffman "because for these voters, the sheer fact that we were engaged in war led to a post-hoc search for a justification for that war.
"People were basically making up justifications for the fact that we were at war," he says.
SCOTUS Nominee Sotomayor said to be a financial crook, by Dr. Cordero; Repub + Dem Senators alerted, keeping their mouths shut
(This link between 911 and this report is not direct. I'm posting it because, besides the fact that it seems legit (based on minimal 'research' by me, I'll admit), it points to the systemic corruptions of the US government which makes a 911 possible. IMO, if you view 911 as yet another symptom of systemic corruption, rather than some sort of "key" that will make everything alright if only justice can be obtained for it, you will act differently and more effectively. A copy of my post at JREF follows. Please note that, since posting it, I have heard Dr. Cordero interviewed here, and he seems completely sincere, legitimate, and non-partisan. Cordero's home page is here.)
Does anybody know about allegations of criminality against Sotomayor, by Dr. Richard Cordero? I've scarcely looked at this, and have no idea about whether it's some politically motivated fraud or not. However, the Cordero guy is claiming impressive credentials, viz.,
I'm not knowledgeable about the JFK assassination to know if there are any questionable facts in this presentation, but as far as I can tell, the quality is excellent.(At least the first 5 segments. I haven't seen all of them, yet.) Garrison comes across as very intelligent, moreso than the impression I gathered from Kevin Costner's portrayal of him in the movie JFK. There are also clips of Fletcher Prouty, who was represented in the JFK movie by Donald Sutherland's character 'X'.
G20 police 'used undercover men to incite crowds'
MP demands inquiry into Met tactics at demo
An MP who was involved in last month's G20 protests in London is to call for an investigation into whether the police used agents provocateurs to incite the crowds.
Liberal Democrat Tom Brake says he saw what he believed to be two plain-clothes police officers go through a police cordon after presenting their ID cards.
Brake, who along with hundreds of others was corralled behind police lines near Bank tube station in the City of London on the day of the protests, says he was informed by people in the crowd that the men had been seen to throw bottles at the police and had encouraged others to do the same shortly before they passed through the cordon.
Eliot Spitzer is a Conspiracy Theorist, of the financial sort. From salon.com:
It all appears, once again, to be the same insiders protecting themselves against sharing the pain and risk of their own bad adventure. The payments to AIG's counterparties are justified with an appeal to the sanctity of contract. If AIG's contracts turned out to be shaky, the theory goes, then the whole edifice of the financial system would collapse.
Government of the Shadows: Parapolitics and Criminal Sovereignty (Hardcover)
Government of the Shadows analyses the concept of clandestine government. It explores how covert political activity and transnational organised crime are linked -- and how they ultimately work to the advantage of state and corporate power. The book shows that legitimate government is now routinely accompanied by extra-governmental covert operations. Using a variety of case studies, from the mafia in Italy to programmes for food and reconstruction in Iraq, the contributors illustrate that para-political structures are not 'deviant', but central to the operation of global governments. The creation of this truly parallel world-economy, the source of huge political and economic potential, entices states to undertake new forms of regulation, either through their own intelligence agencies, or through the more shadowy world of criminal cartels.

PART 1: THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES
Picking up on the controversial proposal he made during a Feb. 9 speech at Georgetown University, Sen.Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) today reiterated his call for a “truth commission” on the Senate floor and said the Senate Judiciary Committee would hold a hearing next Wednesday to begin to consider the idea.
“I’ve seen what’s happened before with prosecutions,” added Leahy, clearly anticipating some objections from the left. “We don’t find the whole truth, but prosecute those on the way bottom of the chain of command.”
An article re a 911 hijacker's relatives involved in espionage has appeared in muslimedia.com, which I've never heard of. The article is without attribution, so at present it would be well to take it with a grain of salt.
Perhaps somebody with time on their hands can try and check it out.
Last month the Lebanese army smashed an Israeli spy ring and discovered something that may have far reaching implications for another terrorist operation: the 9/11 attacks on the US. Two brothers, Ali and Youssef al-Jarrah, operating in Jlela region of the Beqaa Valley near the Syrian border, were found in possession of spying equipment while operating under the cover of the National Association for Medical Services and Vocational Training and claiming to run a humanitarian mission. Ali and Youssef al-Jarrah happen to be uncles of Ziad al-Jarrah, one of the hijackers of the 9/11 planes.
