Debunking 9/11 Debunking is a monumental accomplishment by David Ray Griffin. He exhaustively and definitively destroys the pretensions of four major "9/11 debunking" publications published in 2006, shortly before the fifth anniversary of the events. Although the book is organized into chapters dealing with each one of the four publications in turn, Griffin has such a broad knowledge of all the evidence pertaining to the events, and such command of logic and argument, that the book is thoroughly cohesive and progressively builds an integrated critique of all dimensions of the official theory. Debunking 9/11 Debunking will effectively serve as a veritable encyclopedia of not just the facts of 9/11, but of the best arguments to debunk the official (and semi-official) lies about the facts. Griffin, as usual, avoids speculation and focuses on showing that the official story of what happened that day cannot be true.

Deconstructing Deceit: 9/11, the Media, and Misinformation

What: An afternoon colloquium on recent historical public perception management, information control, and propaganda surrounding the events of September 11, 2001. The two sessions will focus on media coverage and misinformation around 9/11 issues with examples of case studies concerning the destruction of the WTC towers and Building 7.

Media research group Project Censored hosts a "no-holds-barred" second look at the world's three largest structural failures in history as San Francisco architect Richard Gage presents the results of his extensive research into the collapse of World Trade Center buildings 1, 2 and 7 on September 11, 2001.

A one-hour multimedia presentation is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, April 20 in Darwin 103. General admission is $10, students, $5.

Gage, founder of the organization "Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth," examines how World Trade Center 7, a 47-story high rise building, fell straight into its own foot print in 6.5 seconds, and why tons of molten metal were later found under the rubble.

The presentation includes a scrutiny of governmental building failure reports and "the holes they leave regarding the possible use of explosives on 9-11."

The accounts and conclusions of firemen, physicists and other experts are addressed and questions about the damage by jet impacts and fires on the World Trade Center twin towers are answered.

The NORAD Tapes: Real or Faked?

Interview with Dr. David Ray Griffin regarding his most recent article, "9/11 Live or Fabricated: Do the NORAD Tapes Verify the 9/11 Commission Report?" Griffin's article, written primarily in response to Vanity Fair Magazine's, "9/11 Live: The NORAD Tapes" by Michael Bronner in their September 2006 issue, deconstructs the preposterous argument that NORAD was not notified by the FAA of hijacked airliners until they had struck their targets or crashed, and that the only jets the military scrambled were in response to a flight that did not exist. Griffin takes a close look at NORAD's audio tapes, on whose authenticity these claims depend.

Michael Ratner has led the center in its aggressive legal fight against the post - 9/11 violations of civil liberties by the Bush administration. He was part of a small group of lawyers that first took on representation of the Guantanamo detainees in January 2001, a case that went to the supreme court where a major victory was won in June 2004.
