The Navy Times reports:
"The death of a Navy commander found in a room at the Astoria Hotel on Feb. 12 was ruled a homicide, the Orange Park [Florida] Police Department announced Wednesday.
The Jacksonville Medical Examiner's Office made the ruling on Feb. 13 in the death of Cmdr. Alphonso Doss, 44, of Pensacola, according to the release from the OPPD.
Doss' manner of death is not being released at this time while the OPPD and the Clay County Sheriff's Office investigate.

“$8.5 TRILLION In Taxpayer Money Doled Out By Congress To The Pentagon Since 1996 … Has NEVER Been Accounted For”
Military Waste and Fraud Are the Main Cause of Our Problems
We’ve repeatedly documented that military waste and fraud are the core problems with the U.S. economy.
For example, we’ve noted that we wouldn’t be in this crisis of hitting the debt ceiling in the first place if we hadn’t spent so much money on unnecessary wars … which are horrible for the economy.
But it goes far beyond actual fighting. We could easily slash the military and security budget without reducing our national security.
Abby Martin speaks with BTS producer Manuel Rapalo about the top five characteristics of a liar, including body language and verbal signals, using past presidents as prime examples.

NEW YORK Thu Dec 19, 2013 5:26pm EST
(Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court on Thursday revived claims by families of victims of the September 11, 2001, attacks who alleged that Saudi Arabia provided material support to al Qaeda.
"... Reps. Walter B. Jones, R-N.C., and Stephen Lynch, D-Mass., were given access to the 28 redacted pages of the Joint Intelligence Committee Inquiry (JICI) of 9/11 issued in late 2002, which have been thought to hold some answers about the Saudi connection to the attack.
"I was absolutely shocked by what I read," Jones told International Business Times. "What was so surprising was that those whom we thought we could trust really disappointed me."
THANK YOU ReThink911 Supporters... WE DID IT.
Together we raised $25,000 in just 3 days to keep our 54' Tall Billboard
in Times Square for the Big Month of October – Thanks to All of You.
Now we must strive to ensure that news coverage about it expands. Stay tuned for a
detailed action plan, and get ready to get involved. With thousands of emails to key
news outlets, we can make the BUILDING 7 story go viral worldwide.
In the meantime, let's start the month off right with our old friend, Geraldo Rivera
from Geraldo at Large on FOX News. Please take five minutes right now to
email him at these email addresses, and ask him to report on the ReThink911 Ad
Campaign (while thanking him for his coverage of BUILDING 7 three years ago).
After all, the Billboard is only one block from his Studio. With several hundred Emails
in his inbox, he can't say they didn't know about it. We need his help again.
Next: YouTube, Ben Swann, Abby Martin, Luke Rudkowski, Alex Jones & RT.
H E L P Us Get The Truth About BUILDING 7 NOW.
The owner of our Times Sq. Billboard has offered to allow us to keep
the space we have for the the month of October for $25,000 which is
a $19,000 discount. This is a rare opportunity to continue our campaign
for the Truth about BUILDING 7.
If we can raise $25,000 by the end of this Monday 9/30, we can keep
our Big 54-Foot Tall message at Times Square in downtown New York City
for the full month of October.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TODAY.
This would allow us to reach millions more people and gain additional media coverage
of our critically important message about BUILDING 7.
A chance to get this level of exposure for this low a price doesn't come along
very often. (The original billboard cost us $44,000!)
Please Donate what you can now ... ($5.00 from 5,000 people and we have it)
If we’re not living in a militarized police state, then please explain what (why) Ohio State University could possibly need with one of these. (?)
The Ohio State University Department of Public Safety has acquired an armored military vehicle that looks like it belongs in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Gary Lewis, a senior director of media relations at OSU, told The Daily Caller via email that the “unique, special-purpose vehicle is a replacement” for the “police fleet.” He called the armored jalopy “an all-hazard, all-purpose, public safety-response vehicle” with “obviously enhanced capabilities.”
He noted that the vehicle was “acquired at no cost from Military Surplus.”
Starting today, PopularScience.com will no longer accept comments on new articles. Here's why.
Comments can be bad for science. That's why, here at PopularScience.com, we're shutting them off.
It wasn't a decision we made lightly. As the news arm of a 141-year-old science and technology magazine, we are as committed to fostering lively, intellectual debate as we are to spreading the word of science far and wide. The problem is when trolls and spambots overwhelm the former, diminishing our ability to do the latter.
That is not to suggest that we are the only website in the world that attracts vexing commenters (sic).
46% Suspect Controlled Demolition of World Trade Center Building 7 after Viewing Video Footage of Collapse.
On the 12th anniversary of 9/11, a new national survey by the polling firm YouGov reveals that one in two Americans have doubts about the government’s account of 9/11, and after viewing video footage of World Trade Center Building 7’s collapse, 46% suspect that it was caused by a controlled demolition. Building 7, a 47-story skyscraper, collapsed into its own footprint late in the afternoon on 9/11.
The poll was sponsored by ReThink911, a global public awareness campaign launched on September 1. The campaign includes a 54-foot billboard in Times Square and a variety of transit and outdoor advertising in 11 other cities, all posing the question, “Did you know a third tower fell on 9/11?”
Among the poll’s findings:
38% of Americans have some doubts about the official account of 9/11, 10% do not believe it at all, and 12% are unsure about it;
46%, nearly one in two, are not aware that a third tower collapsed on 9/11. Of those who are aware of Building 7’s collapse, only 19% know the building’s name;
After seeing video footage of Building 7′s collapse:
46% are sure or suspect it was caused by controlled demolition, compared to 28% who are sure or suspect fires caused it, and 27% who don’t know;
By a margin of nearly two to one, 41% support a new investigation of Building 7′s collapse, compared to 21% who oppose it.
30-Second Video Shown to 1,194 Survey Respondents:
ReThink911 is commissioning the polling firm YouGov to conduct a national survey on Canadians’ impressions of Building 7’s collapse and their support for our right to advertise on Ottawa’s public bus system—but we need your help to do it. Please help us raise $6,000 by Saturday, September 14 so that we may conduct this poll on Monday and have the results by the end of next week.
On September 11, 2013, the Chair of the Ottawa Transit Commission called the ReThink911 Ottawa bus ads “insensitive” and said she would request a review of Ottawa’s advertising policy. The Mayor of Ottawa then weighed in to say our “disrespectful” ads were protected by free speech, but that he encouraged the Transit Commission to review the City’s advertising policy. Next Wednesday, September 18, the Ottawa Transit Commission is meeting and our ads will be top of the agenda. We are conducting this poll to make sure the Commission knows exactly where the public stands on free speech and our right to question 9/11 publicly.
