Matt Damon grew-up as a neighbor of famed American historian, Howard Zinn, author of best-selling, A people’s history of the United States, that explains US history and foreign policy as a competition between American ideals and lust for oligarchic power. In the linked two-minute clip on the left, Damon’s character in Good Will Hunting nails and then buries the oligarch’s argument (adult language).

The only addition I have to Matt’s character’s argument: the increase in domestic oil prices (and others) is also a function of Wall Street “trades” designed to benefit traders and parasitize consumers.

In the interview below, Southern California Republican Congressperson Dana Rohrabacher is reported by Judge Andrew Napolitano as admitting the “emperor has no clothes” obvious: US war in Iraq is unlawful and almost all House Republicans know it.

The war in Afghanistan is also Orwellian unlawful, with all 9/11 “justifications” now correctly understood as obvious lies upon inspection of the uncontroversial government-disclosed facts.

Yet, 85% of members of Congress continue to fund these unlawful wars. Nobel Peace Prize recipient and US President Obama not only continues these wars, but escalates them into new territories along with torture, indefinite detention, extrajudicial assassination, and the same lying and war-mongering rhetoric against Iran that preceded unlawful wars into Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia.

Ending unlawful US wars is similar to the work of the Civil Rights Movement: both are functions of transformative civic education inside and outside of classrooms, transformative media communication, and transformative political education and policy. Both are founded upon honor and enforcement of historical legislative victories. For Civil Rights, the 1868 14th Amendment to the US Constitution promised equal protection under the law and was willfully ignored.

Ending war is founded upon the 1945 legislative victory of the United Nations Charter (UN). War is illegal, except under a narrow legal definition of self-defense from another nation’s armed attack until the UN Security Council (UNSC) can act. I cite expert testimony to explain the "emperor has no clothes," and cite the law compared with the evidence for everyone to understand here. Obviously, the US is in violation.
