As I have watched the Boston Marathon tragedy unfold, my heart goes out to the victims and their families. I had similar feelings on 9/11/2001 and continue to pray for comfort for victims and due-process punishment of perpetrators in both tragedies.

Yes, there are similarities -- but there are also significant differences, particularly as we see how the investigation of the Boston crime scene unfolds. Boston: investigators seek to preserve every scrap of metal from the explosive device, each nail and steel ball bearing. They look for clues in how it was constructed, where materials were obtained, what were the goals, who ALL was involved. Very little jumping to conclusions as to WHO all was involved and WHY. Investigators and the public are determined to leave no stone unturned as criminal investigators welcome public input and seek to capture and bring to justice ALL perpetrators.

The lack of security in communication technologies used in the aviation industry makes it possible to remotely exploit vulnerabilities in critical on-board systems and attack aircraft in flight, according to research presented Wednesday at the Hack in the Box security conference in Amsterdam.

The presentation, by Hugo Teso, a security consultant at consultancy firm N.runs in Germany, who has also had a commercial pilot license for the past 12 years, was the result of the researcher’s three-yearlong research into the security of avionics.

WASHINGTON — Skilled in tracking foreign terrorists, Jarret Brachman once was a sought-after expert on Al Qaeda, advising several federal agencies and speaking regularly around the country.

Now the former research director of the Combating Terrorism Center, a think tank at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, has turned his focus away from Islamic militants. He spends most of his time consulting with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies about threats from domestic extremists and antigovernment militias.

"I have totally re-branded my career," Brachman said. "I still do the Al Qaeda stuff, but there's no interest, no demand.... We've broken Al Qaeda's back, strategically."

McCain asked about free fall of Building 7 on TV

On April 9th, 2013 Senator John McCain appeared on C-SPAN's live call-in show Washington Journal. Identifying myself under a pseudonym, I asked him the following question:

"The National Institute of Standards and Technology asserts that the collapse of the 47-story World Trade Center Building 7 on 9/11 was caused by fire. Yet they acknowledge that the first 100 feet of that collapse took place at free-fall acceleration. Engineers will tell you that fire cannot do this, that the only method by which it can be accomplished is the use of pre-planted explosives.

How do you explain this discrepancy...of a hundred feet of free-fall, without the use of explosives?"

As the video shows, John McCain claimed ignorance, saying, "To tell you the truth, this is an area that I'm not very familiar...and if you would drop me a note and mention that we talked on C-SPAN, I'd be glad to get you a more complete answer. But...honestly, every once in a while I have to plead ignorance about an issue and this is one that I have not been involved in, but I'll be more than happy to look into it..."

John McCain, of course, is not ignorant of 9/11 Truth. He wrote the foreword for the Popular Mechanics book "Debunking 9/11 Myths: Why Conspiracy Theories Can't Stand Up to the Facts". In his essay "9/11 Conspiracy Myths: Truth Under Attack" which was adapted from his foreword for Popular Mechanics' book, McCain wrote:

"Any explanation for 9/11 must start and end with the facts. The evidence must be gathered and analyzed. Then—only then—can conclusions be drawn."

Four appendices focus on inaccuracies in the Fletcher and Eastman letter; on David Griffin’s list of physical evidence items that, in his view, weigh against the 757 impact theory; on the testimony of the unfairly-maligned taxi driver, Lloyde England; and on Jerry Russell’s and David Griffin’s analyses of Pentagon eyewitnesses.

The letter is titled Conspiracy Denial in the U.S. Media. Here's an excerpt:

"Many American journalists appear to be locked into a peculiar way of thinking that makes them blind to signs of political criminality in high office. This mindset is characterized by an apparent inability to differentiate groundless accusations of elite political intrigue from legitimate concerns about the integrity of U.S. political leaders and institutions. For some reason, when it comes to popular suspicions of schemes involving the nation’s political elites, many journalists in the United State make no distinctions. They categorize all such suspicions as “conspiracy theories,” which they assume are not only untrue, but wacky and paranoid."

Knives on airplanes. The phrase is like a cataract on a defining, horrific moment in American history. Think about it: every passenger with a knife in their pocket. Each person as potentially armed, potentially dangerous. Have we actually managed to convince ourselves that bladed weapons weren’t the preamble to the single greatest act of terrorism committed on United States soil? That’s myopic thinking, a reduction so absurd that it would be laughable if it weren’t actually happening. I mean it’s ridiculous; who in their right mind would allow blades of any size on aircraft traveling through U.S. skies after September 11, 2001? The Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The very same body tasked with finding and removing contraband items from passengers and their bags would still like to throw away shampoo bottles, but the knives can stay, within reason, of course. This is stunning amnesia, a brain fart the size of a continent.

What’s worse? Knives aren’t the TSA’s biggest problem – it’s all those explosives their agents still fail to find.

The 9/11 Parents & Families of Firefighters and WTC Victims last week also called for an independent auditor to monitor all 9/11 work at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and for an investigator to review all previous World Trade Center samples and order them retested if needed.

On 25th of February this year Tony Rooke went to court in Horsham in the UK. He was refusing to pay the TV licence which is used to fund the BBC on the grounds that paying would constitute funding an organisation which was supporting terrorism.
