BRADENTON - U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson predicted Tuesday that the seven-year hunt for terrorism mastermind Osama bin Laden is nearly over.

"Within a year, we will have bin Laden," Nelson declared in a speech to about 200 people at a Manatee Chamber of Commerce event.

Nelson's prediction was surprising because it contradicted recent statements by the Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, who suggested it could be years before bin Laden is captured. Just three weeks ago, Gates likened the search to the FBI's 17-year hunt for convicted Unabomber Theodore Kaczynski.

It is unclear on what Nelson based his assertion.

Nelson left the area shortly after his speech.

Repeated requests by the Herald-Tribune to interview the senator were unsuccessful, with Nelson failing to return phone messages.

What's crazier, believing the U.S. orchestrated 9/11 or that Saddam did?

9/11 Truths

...there can no longer be any serious argument about whether Saddam Hussein's Iraq worked with Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda to plot against Americans." —Stephen F. Hayes, The Weekly Standard, 2003

When discussing politics, if there's one thing that sends people running for the hills, it's conspiracy theories — or worse, conspiracy theorists.

As with those who are deemed "racist" or "isolationist," conspiracy theorists are automatically dismissed by polite society, not necessarily because they are wrong, but because of the nature of their arguments. And because their ideas and opinions are outside of consensus politics or the mainstream media, conspiracy theorists lack credibility simply for being outside the realm of respectability.

Did Paranoid Right-Wing Media Fuel the Pittsburgh Cop Killer's Rage?

By Max Blumenthal, The Daily Beast. Posted April 8, 2009.

Richard Poplawski, the man who allegedly murdered three Pittsburgh cops, was clearly influenced by Fox News's Glenn Beck and right-wing radio.

On April 6, two days after the 22-year-old Richard Poplawski allegedly murdered three police officers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a radio host named Alex Jones settled in before a microphone in his studio in Austin, Texas to do some damage control. "The mainstream media has certainly enjoyed tying me into this story," Jones complained. "They're attacking me and saying I'm delusional and there's no New World Order The Second Amendment, what the country's founded on--it's all my fault!"

SPECIAL EVENT: Splitting the Sky (John Boncore) to speak in Vancouver, BC, April 10th, 2009

The “Coalition of the Willing” is pleased to announce that Splitting the Sky (aka John Boncore), the man who has been taking action and speaking out since the early 70s on so many fronts, including the Attica Rebellion and the Gustafsen Lake Stand Off, and who has been investigating the 9/11 money trail to expose the real perps, AND connecting the dots to those behind the global financial collapse. Most recently he tried to arrest George W. Bush in Calgary for war crimes, and is now, himself, being charged for assault for trying to effect a "citizen's arrest" of Bush. You will learn WHY he did this and WHAT he hopes to accomplish with his court case, and HOW this is important for all activists, and indeed for humanity.

WeAreChangeLA informs LA Sheriff Lee Baca about 9/11 Black Op Demolitions

Barack Obama was in Southern California over a few days in March 2009. After an event in Downtown Los Angeles on March 19, 2009, Jeremy Rothe-Kushel of WeAreChangeLA Citizen's Media asked the Sheriff of Los Angeles County, Lee Baca, whether President Obama had mentioned clearing up the ongoing cover-up of the 9/11 black op.

"Did President Obama say anything--did he say anything about clearing up the biggest crime of the century, the 9/11 black op, and the continuing cover-up after it? Because we still have 30-something Angelenos whose murders are unsolved from that day and a lot of us, including all the family members,

9-11 Truth has largest presence at LA Anti-War March!

WeAreChangeLA brought our banners to the Anti-War March in full force. We had almost 50 members show up to help the 9-11 Truth stand out in a very big way. Others who attended the march exclaimed that "the 9-11 people are taking all the attention".

We all had such a great time. If you have yet to partake in an outreach, visibility action with our beautiful banners, then you gotta come out and join us!

Thanks to new member Robert Ohneiser for an excellent edit. Robert also did most of the camera work. We are so lucky to have so much talent in WACLA. God, I love being an activist in LA.

Thank you Laurel for breakfast! Member Laurel treated anyone who could come to breakfast that morning.

Thanks again to everyone who participated. You all were a show stopper!!!

Traces of explosives in 9/11 dust, scientists say

By Elaine Jarvik - Deseret News - Monday, April 6, 2009 10:43 p.m. MDT

Tiny red and gray chips found in the dust from the collapse of the World Trade Center contain highly explosive materials — proof, according to a former BYU professor, that 9/11 is still a sinister mystery.

Physicist Steven E. Jones, who retired from Brigham Young University in 2006 after the school recoiled from the controversy surrounding his 9/11 theories, is one of nine authors on a paper published last week in the online, peer-reviewed Open Chemical Physics Journal. Also listed as authors are BYU physics professor Jeffrey Farrer and a professor of nanochemistry at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.

For several years, Jones has theorized that pre-positioned explosives, not fires from jet fuel, caused the rapid, symmetrical collapse of the two World Trade Center buildings, plus the collapse of a third building, WTC-7.

What you need to know about "Peer-review"

Since the days of Sir Isaac Newton, Science has proceeded through the publication of peer-reviewed papers. Peer-review means a thorough reading, commentary and even challenge before publication by "peers", that is, other PhD's and professors. This paper was thoroughly peer-reviewed with several pages of tough comments that required of our team MONTHS of additional experiments and studies. It was the toughest peer-review I've ever had, including THREE papers for which I was first author in NATURE. (Please note that Prof. Harrit is first author on this paper.) We sought an established journal that would allow us a LONG paper (this paper is 25 pages long) with MANY COLOR IMAGES AND GRAPHS. Such a scientific journal is not easy to find. Page charges are common for scientific journals these days, and are typically paid by the University of the first or second author (as is the case with this paper) or by an external grant.

Lemonade from lemons: How Rescue Me producers turned Daniel Sunjata's
wild-eyed 9/11 conspiracy thoeries into compelling drama

It was an uncomfortable moment, even for guys who make a living spinning tough drama out of fart jokes and sex talk. But when critics asked the minds behind FX's blockbuster firefighter drama Rescue Me about the inspiration for a storyline where one of the guys insists the 9/11 terrorist attacks was an inside job, they simply pointed to castmember Daniel Sunjata. That's because Sunjata, a buff, accomplished actor who has played everyone from Reggie Jackson to Langston Hughes, actually believes a faction in the American government pulled off the attack.

Note on Raw Story article.

At the request of Lullaby Academy (who posted the original blog on the Raw Story), the link to the Raw Story article on the Bentham paper was pulled.

The story was re-written to be more "balanced", according to one of the site editors;

"Editor's note: This story has been updated and rewritten for balance and clarity."

But frankly, Joe Byrne had it right the first time.

Here is a link to the revised story;

"Pittsburgh shooter was fan of online conspiracy theories"!

Anyone else find this suspicious as hell? Ironically Alex Jones has been saying for ages that this exact type of incident would happen and be used to associate 9/11 truth etc with "McVeigh" type terrorists:

Pittsburgh shooter was fan of online conspiracy theories
"The Post-Gazette also mentions the conspiracy theory website PrisonPlanet, run by radio talk show host Alex Jones, as a source for some of Poplawski's more off-the-wall notions."
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Pittsburgh_shooter_was_fan_of_rightwing_0405.html

Suspect in officers' shooting was into conspiracy theories
"Believing most media were covering up important events, Mr. Poplawski turned to a far-right conspiracy Web site run by Alex Jones, a self-described documentarian with roots going back to the extremist militia movement of the early 1990s."
