Within a July 18, 2008 Freedom of Information Act response from the National Transportation Safety Board, the NTSB indicates that it possesses no records indicating how wreckage recovered from the 4 aircraft used during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 was positively identified as belonging to the 4 planes reportedly hijacked that day or even if such wreckage was positively identified at all.
The following is a Request for Correction received by the National Transportation Safety board on Monday, June 23, 2008 regarding apparent discrepancies contained within factual reports pertaining to the Flight Data Recorders recovered from American Airlines Flight 77 and United Airlines Flight 93, following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The following is information obtained from the National Transportation Safety Board via online public inquiry requests, regarding Flight Data Recorder (FDR) part numbers and unique serial numbers required to facilitate the data readouts obtained from the FDRs recovered from American Airlines flight 77 and United Airlines flight 93, destroyed during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Such numbers were not published within NTSB reports regarding FDRs for these flights.
Within a June 5, 2008 response from the NTSB, it is explained why unique FDR serial numbers are required to obtain correct FDR data readout:
"The exact serial number of the unit delineates manufacturing break points. The serial number is used to identify when a recorder manufacturer switched from a certain memory configuration to another. This information is necessary to perform the correct recovery of the data."
A flight data file created by the downloaded Flight Data Recorder information of American Airlines flight 77 was created on Thursday, September 13, 2001 at 11:45pm.
However, as reported by USA Today, Pentagon spokesman Army Lt. Col. George Rhynedance reported that the FDR for AA 77 was recovered on Friday, September 14, 2001 at 4am,
4 hours and 15 minutes after the creation of the AA 77 FDR data file.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Searchers on Friday found the flight data and cockpit voice recorders from the hijacked plane that flew into the Pentagon and exploded, Department of Defense officials said. The two "black boxes," crucial to uncovering details about the doomed flight's last moments, were recovered at about 4 a.m., said Army Lt. Col. George Rhynedance, a Pentagon spokesman.
The AA 77 FDR file was contained within a May 2008 release obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request of the National Transportation Safety Board.
Secret Service FOIA Request: Arrival Time Of VP Dick Cheney At The White House PEOC & Names Of Those Provided Entry On 9/11/2001
The following is a response from the U.S. Secret Service to a Freedom of Information Act request for the arrival time of U.S. vice president Richard Cheney at the Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) on September 11, 2001, as well as the names of all those granted entry there that day.
A motion for dismissal of a December 4, 2007 Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, related to records pertaining to the four aircraft involved in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, was provided by F.B.I. trial attorney Stephen Buckingham on Monday April 14, 2008.
Within the defendant's motion, it is indicated that publicly available information provided by the National Transportation Safety Board and utilized as exhibits within the plaintiff's complaint for injunctive relief are disputed.
Regarding publicly available information provided by N.T.S.B. administrators and factual reports, the F.B.I. motion reads in part:
"In paragraphs 9 through 12, plaintiff characterizes specific documents attached as exhibits to the amended complaint, which speak for themselves; insofar as a response may be required, the allegations are denied."
In an effort to gain a better understanding the final months of activity within the World Trade Center towers in order to possibly shed light on what may have lead to their destructions, a Freedom of Information request of the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey sought the following:
Complete list of outsourced contract projects performed upon World Trade Center buildings 1 and 2, at the request of the Port Authority of NY NJ or tenants of World Trade Center buildings 1 and 2 and authorized or negotiated by the Port Authority of NY NJ during the period January 1, 2001 - September 11, 2001.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Records/Information Dissemination Section, clarifies its reportedly negative search results for records confirming the positive recovery and identification of the wreckage created by the federally registered aircraft reportedly involved in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Contained within a March 14, 2008 "DEFENDANT’S MOTION FOR ENLARGEMENT OF TIME TO RESPOND TO AMENDED COMPLAINT" with the Nevada District U.S. Court, concerning a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit (Case #: 2:07-cv-01614-RCJ-GWF) to compel the production of Federal Bureau of Investigation records concerning the four aircraft involved in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Rose has indicated on behalf of the FBI, that records indicating the collection and positive identification of recovered wreckage created by these federally registered aircraft, were not located. Such wreckage includes the Flight Data Recorders (FDRs) of American Airlines flight 77 and United Airlines flight 93, for which no inventory control serial numbers were publically assigned.
Defendant's motion reads in part:
"Since being served with the Summons and Amended Complaint, Federal Defendant, with assistance of its attorneys, has analyzed Plaintiff’s request and conducted a search for responsive records. Federal Defendant has determined that there are no responsive records. The identities of the airplanes hijacked in the September 11 attacks was never in question, and, therefore, there were no records generated “revealing the process by which wreckage recovered by defendant, from aircraft used during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, was positively identified by defendant . . . as belonging to said aircraft . . .” (Amend Compl. Inj. Relief #15 at 1.)"
Debunking Popular Mechanics?: PM Book Alleges FAA Source For Pre-9/11 Statistical Data; FAA: Such Statistics Do Not Exist.
Beginning on page 22 of a
2006 book entitled
Debunking 9/11 Myths
, containing a forward comment by Republican presidential candidate John McCain, an attempt is made to clarify the role played by potential military aircraft intercepts during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Citing unnamed sources, part of this section reads as follows:
When contacted by Popular Mechanics, spokesmen for NORAD and the FAA clarified their remarks by noting that scrambles were routine, but intercepts were not - especially over the continental United States.
However, according to a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Freedom of Information Act response dated March 3, 2008, the FAA concedes that records for the information alleged in part by
unnamed FAA source, do not exist.
Of all major U.S. airline crashes within the U.S. investigated and published by the National Transportation Safety Board during the past 20 years, the 9/11 'black boxes' are virtually the only ones without listed inventory control serial numbers.
NTSB American Airlines flight 77 flight data recorder report, not noting a device serial number:
NTSB United Airlines flight 93 flight data recorder report, not noting a device serial number:
With flight data recorder serial number data that is virtually always provided within NTSB reports of major U.S. commercial airline crashes that occur within U.S. territory, one can trace an installed device to a particular registered aircraft through manufacturer or airline records.
Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests of the Federal Aviation Administration, seeking various records regarding the four aircraft involved in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 has been denied on the basis that such records are not available for release.
Failure to release the requested information was not per any established FAA information request exemptions, normally cited by federal agencies that deny FOIA requests:
Freedom of Information (FOI) records of the Port Authority of NY and NJ dated December 19, 2007 reveal information regarding the private uniformed security contractor operating at the World Trade Center (WTC) on September 11, 2001 and copies of WTC lease agreements between Silverstein Properties and the Port Authority of NY and NJ.
Structural engineer Matthys Levy, one of several so called "expert" opinions cited in the "History Channel" documentary "9/11 Conspiracies: Fact Or Fiction", makes the following claim regarding WTC building 7, during the programs 2nd hour.
Matthys Levy: "The initial fires started around 9:30 in the morning."
Fires in WTC 7 are said to have been caused by debris from the collapsing WTC tower 1, which did not fall until 10:28am.
Levy, was chairman for Weidlinger Associates, one of several firms recruited after 9/11, by Silverstein Properties to assist in its $7 billion WTC insurance claim.
Is this "History Channel" expert simply wrong about basic information concerning WTC 7 or is he aware of information that is not widely known?
