William Rodriguez, who was working as custodian
in-charge of three 110-story stairwells in the North
Tower of the World Trade Center on the day it was
destroyed, and who personally saved fifteen others
from certain death, will share his harrowing
experience of the 9-11 tragedy at a special
presentation, Thursday, November 1st at 7 pm, at the
Grand Lake Theater, 3200 Grand Avenue in Oakland,
California. He will also explain his deep
disappointment with what he describes as serious
inadequacies in the final report by the 9-11
Commission.

At the White House on five occasions and
recognized as a “National Hero” by the Senate of
Puerto Rico, William Rodriguez, in possession of a
master key to all of the stairwell doors at each floor
in the 110 story building that day, personally saved
the lives of 15 people and aided NYC firefighters in
saving hundreds of others.

Rodriguez has used his recognition as one of the true
heroes of that tragic day to help draft and pass

He is adjunct faculty in history and critical thinking at Berkeley City College, Chabot College, and Diablo Valley College where he has taught over 100 courses in the past 6 years. He was co-director of the alternative polling group Retropoll (http://www.retropoll.org/) and is a Community Evaluator for Project Censored at Sonoma State University (www.projectcensored.org). Jarek Kupsc writer/director of The Reflecting Pool spoke on Questioning War- Organizing Resistance August 6th. (Full interview is available online at the show's archives). There has been a great deal of interest from the 9/11 Truth community in the movie’s trailer, many considering it a slick Hollywood feature film. But the reality is that it was self-financed, paid for by credit cards, and a labor of love. Jarek is a “narrative film maker,” likes to work with original material, and doesn’t do documentaries. Jarek grew up in Communist Poland under martial law. After 9/11 he became a father for the first time, and his child occupied him completely for a year and a half. He spent two years seriously researching 9/11 when he realized that “there was a story here.” He hoped that someone else would do it, but then he realized that maybe he needed to tell it himself. “It’s our Watergate--obvious, dramatic, tragic--the end of the twentieth century.”

Over a hundred of us gathered outside the gates of Livermore Labs to
commemorate the victims of nuclear weapons and war, and to call for
the global elimination of nuclear weapons, starting with our own.
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, managed by the University of
California and a consortium of corporations, including Bechtel, is
one of two labs that have designed every nuclear weapon in the U.S.
stockpile and is currently designing a new hydrogen bomb,
euphemistically called a “Reliable Replacement Warhead.”
