John Perkins apparently reached a crisis point within himself which compelled him to write “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” in which he unmasks the collusion between U.S.Government, Military, and Financial forces in order to extend U.S. empire, and his role in that process.
What he chooses not to unmask is as revealing.

Perkins wants us to believe that he is truly sorry for what he did . . . that he now “gets it” and wants to be part of the solution. Let’s examine that contention:

A couple of months ago I emailed Michael Shermer. To my surprise, he responded.
I wrote him as a "concerned citizen and parent" ( I'm not a parent, btw,) wondering what he would say to someone genuinely questioning the official 9/11 narrative.

Mr. Shermer,

A colleague referred me to this video clip of Dr. Niels Harrit, Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at the University of Copenhagen. In this video he refers to a substance called "nanothermite."

"Conspiracy Theories" do not interest me. However, scientific evidence of an extremely high tech explosive in the lower Manhattan dust bothers me greatly.

Is there any validity to this claim?

No, Richard, no validity to the "microthermite" story whatsoever. None. No one found thermite or microthermite or superthermite or any other type of thermite at ground zero. And even if they did, thermite cannot do what they claim it can. This was all tested years ago.

I hate this. I don’t want to think about it, but I can’t stop thinking about it. This information has screwed and is screwing with my head, which does not need any additional screws rattling around in it, if you get my drift.
It makes my stomach feel hollow sometimes; like when I’m terrified; my Fight or Flight system kicks in, but Flight is impossible, and Fight looks futile.
I wish I didn’t know.
But I do. And nothing is ever going to change it.
The question now is: what do I do?
Talking about it with most people is not only fruitless, it’s downright counterproductive. Within fifteen seconds of mentioning this I see the body language: the averted gaze, the held breath, the feet suddenly pointing away as if preparing to flee an assailant. By all measures of logic, I am speaking logically, but this logic is logic of the damned. Step near it, and its implications begin to pull like a Black Hole. Hm. No wonder people’s denial response wins 99% of the time.

This is interesting because the video clearly shows very large chunks of concrete being lifted from the rubble pile, which is to be expected in a gravity driven high-rise collapse. Of course there were no such large concrete pieces in the rubble pile of Towers 1 and 2, and Building 7; it was all reduced to powder.

Sometimes I'm stunned by how quickly a scientifically-trained person jumps off the ship of reason when it comes to 9/11/01.

This Friday night at The Tattered Cover in LoDo, Richard Gage, founder of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth will present scientific evidence proving beyond reasonable doubt that the World Trade Center towers and World Trade Building 7 were demolished by conventional and novel forms of controlled demolition. He invites the best and most skeptical minds in the metro area to be there and to show him any errors of logic or reason. He will not be entertaining conjecture or conspiracy theories, but focusing on the hard scientific evidence. Many have refused to look for myriad reasons, but as the great Sherlock Holmes said: ". . .when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." Gage has eliminated the impossible. Which leaves us with some very bitter pills to swallow.

During this holiday season I've found many opportunities to do civil informationing. At one party I actually met a guy who works for NIST ( not in a division of structural engineering ) who had never even heard of WTC 7. When I gave him the basics ( 5:20 pm 9/11/01, 47 floors, over 500 ft. tall, symmetrical collapse exactly like a known controlled demolition, 5.6 seconds: about the time it would take for a bowling ball to hit the ground if dropped off the top of the building,) he looked at me like I was nuts.
Then I told him that the major barrier to understanding this is not intellectual, it is EMOTIONAL,
BECAUSE THE IMPLICATIONS SO SUCK.
I could see his wheels churning, so I changed the subject (it being a holiday party and all,) but on some level this guy is now inoculated with information that could change his life.

When doing civil informationing, a PROMPT of sorts could help us. "9/11 Truth Now" on a black T-shirt immediately brands us to many as conspiracy nuts due to major media disinformation. A flanking approach might be more effective:

911 Mysteries – The New Version

Last evening I attended the screening, in Laguna Beach, of the updated version of this excellent movie. I’m pleased to report it’s absolutely brilliant. Now completely updated, it includes clips of the BBC’s premature announcement of the demolition of WTC 7 and many other rich tidbits, as well as a superb new musical soundtrack. It’s truly a first class piece of moviemaking.

The movie was extremely well received. I helped answer questions afterwards, and can unequivocally say there wasn’t a skeptic left in the house, so compelling is its message. 90 minutes of pure demolition evidence and analysis, laced with eye-opening witness testimonials. Until something better comes along, this is the vehicle that will take the message out to our complacent mainstream.

I think I own every 9/11 movie made, so I feel I can voice an informed, albeit obviously personal, opinion: the new version of “9/11 Mysteries: Part I – Demolitions” is the best 9/11 movie out there at the moment.

And it seems I’m in good company:

You know, it could be genetic...

Having argued with all sorts of people about 911, Iraq, the so-called Clash of Civilizations, etc. for several years, my working theory is that there are many people for which xenophobia and an us vs them mentality is the hardwired-by-nature, default mental setting. Probably this is an inheritance from humanity's tribal origins.

Even if it were definitively proven that 911 was an inside job, that the Clash of Civilizations is a figment, that the Iraq War was a geopolitical, aggressive war of choice - such people would simply keep grumbling to themselves about the middle eastern (or chinese, or russian) boogeyman.

I suspect that a good portion of that 30% of the electorate that comprises Bush's base has the gene, so to speak. Logic has no purchase with a hardwired brain. I think this is what Leo Strauss, the neocons' leading ideologue, meant when he stressed the importance of cultural myth-making - appealing to that knee-jerk, default mentality.
