FDNY'S 9/11-TOLL SHOCKER

June 17, 2007 -- About 5,000 active and retired FDNY employees are receiving medical treatment for injuries and illnesses connected to the World Trade Center attacks, according to a Fire Department document.

"That is an absolutely staggering number, and it's a number that speaks volumes," said Andrew Carboy, a lawyer who represents more than 200 firefighters in a negligence suit against the city. "That's half of what the force was on 9/11."

The FDNY had about 11,000 members on Sept. 11, 2001.

About 3,000 firefighters and EMS workers are receiving counseling for emotional problems. Another 1,500 are suffering respiratory ailments.
There are also between 600 and 1,000 FDNY members - most of whom retired after 9/11 - currently receiving prescription medication for a variety of illnesses, from asthma and gastrointestinal disease to depression and anxiety.

The most insidious of hypocrites are those that engage in hypocrisy while pointing the finger at others.

We've done a lot of work over the last several months. Several hundred new events have been added to the History Commons database. But we need your help! On 5/24/07 the University of Iowa Chapter of a Project for a New American Citizen went to a Sam Brownback event to question him on several ... all » issues. When no Q & A opportunity was presented, one member managed to inform him on the issues of WTC 7 and the latest findings of Professor Steven E. Jones. Brownback asked "what would you like for me to do?" We requested that the Senator become informed on the circumstances surrounding the collapse of WTC 7 and to support a new and independent investigation into the events of 9/11/2001.

Bush Anoints Himself as the Insurer of Constitutional Government in Emergency

With scarcely a mention in the mainstream media, President Bush has ordered up a plan for responding to a catastrophic attack.
In a new National Security Presidential Directive, Bush lays out his plans for dealing with a “catastrophic emergency.”

Under that plan, he entrusts himself with leading the entire federal government, not just the Executive Branch. And he gives himself the responsibility “for ensuring constitutional government.”

He laid this all out in a document entitled “National Security Presidential Directive/NSPD 51” and “Homeland Security Presidential Directive/HSPD-20.”

The White House released it on May 9.

Other than a discussion on Daily Kos led off by a posting by Leo Fender, and a pro-forma notice in a couple of mainstream newspapers, this document has gone unremarked upon.

The subject of the document is entitled “National Continuity Policy.”

Hello everyone,

First I would like to thank you all for the great success our organization has had in the few short months we have been a group. We have grown more than I expected with some very credible and professional individuals.

Many of you know that I have been tossing out the idea of a Conference sponsored by our organization. I would like to get the ball rolling on this and I need ideas and help. Our organization has grown to a robust level and continues to grow. I think its about time we all meet, sit down, and do some hangar flying.

This is what I propose. A weeked conference at a Hotel somewhere near the center of the country. Perhaps Friday thru Moday. Im thinking Cincinatti/NKY since its a major hub, I know the area very well (was based at CVG) and it is relatively mid-country. I also think its a great town.
