Many of the journalists who’ve reported on the Clarion Fund and its anti-Islam “documentary” Obsession have wondered why the film credits listed fake names for the two producers.

Yesterday we reported that the real name of one of the producers is Erik Werth. Thanks to Meg Laughlin of the St. Petersburg Times, we may have the answer. The Charlotte Observer reported the following in 1995:

Britain told to publish Iraq war discussions

LONDON (Reuters) - Records of British cabinet discussions over the legality of invading Iraq, held in the buildup to war in 2003, must be released to the public, a tribunal ruled Tuesday.

Publication of the documents could embarrass Prime Minister Gordon Brown, whose predecessor Tony Blair was accused by critics of glossing over lawyers' initial reservations about launching the invasion to overthrow Saddam Hussein.

Brown's office said it was considering its response to the ruling, made by a tribunal which decides on requests for documents under freedom of information laws.

The tribunal said it was in the public interest to release minutes of the cabinet discussions.

Hopefully this year, Pandora's Box will be fully opened regarding the abuses of power by the Bush/Cheney administration. Eventually, their treasonous 9/11 cover-up will be revealed and the world will reel in shock and disgust.

Barack Obama must first reveal the truth of our current financial nightmare as well as the abuses of power by the Bush/Cheney administration in order to restore trust in our government. That rapidly unfolding public vetting process will eventually lead to the 9/11 cover- up and Bush and Cheney's active participation or willing countenance of the tragic events of that day.

Yesterday, Barack Obama today revoked President George W. Bush's Executive Order which makes presidential records secret for up to 12 years after leaving office!

Pentagon's terror 'recidivism' claims blasted as 'propaganda'

Ever wonder how many of President Bush's terror war detainees were released, only to "return to the fight"?

"Their numbers have changed from 20, to 12, to seven, to more than five, to two, to a couple, to a few, 25, 29, 12, and then 24," quoted Keith Olbermann on Thursday's edition of Countdown.

The latest figure, 61, which was carried unchallenged by CNN, the MSNBC host noted, appears to be nothing but "propaganda."

A study published by Seton Hall Law Professor Mark Denbeaux on Jan. 15 finds the Pentagon wrongly altered its figures on terrorist 'recidivism' 43 times, with the latest figure being "the most egregiously so."

Denbeaux first shared his findings a week prior with MSNBC host Rachael Maddow.

Guantanamo trial halted for 9-11 accused

GUANTANAMO BAY U.S. NAVAL BASE, Cuba (Reuters) – A U.S. military judge on Wednesday halted the trial of five prisoners accused of plotting the September 11 attacks, giving President Barack Obama the time he sought to decide whether to scrap the Guantanamo war crimes tribunals.

Obama has pledged to shut down the Guantanamo prison camp that was widely seen as a stain on the United States' human rights record and a symbol of detainee abuse and detention without charge under the Bush administration.

If Obama signs a draft order obtained by Reuters on Wednesday, the prison camp would close within a year.

Hours after taking office on Tuesday, Obama ordered prosecutors in the Guantanamo court to ask for a 120-day halt in all pending cases. He asked for time to review the cases and decide what forum best suits any future prosecution.

Gitmo prisoner tells judge: 'We are proud of 9/11'

An al-Qaeda leader accused of masterminding the 9/11 attacks told a military judge today that he's not afraid to die at the hands of the U.S. government, The Miami Herald reports.

"We don't care about the capital punishment; we are doing jihad for the cause of God," Khalid Shiek Mohammed said during a hearing at the detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Mohammed and other accused terrorists have said they want to plead guilty to terrorism charges. Reuters says "the self-described mastermind of the September 11 hijacked plane plot" took issue with the prosecution's characterization of the deaths that resulted as "murder."

"We are proud of 9/11," Ramzi bin al Shibh, another accused terrorist, said today. The Associated Press says there's some question about bin al Shibh's competence to stand trial.

That may be a moot point, as President-elect Barack Obama has pledged to shut down the controversial prison known as Gitmo.

Almost before the smoke had cleared from the collapse of the World Trade Center towers and from within the cavity at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, conspiracy theories began to appear. There were so many and they emerged so quickly that President Bush addressed the matter on November 10, 2001, in a speech to the United Nations. The President condemned the introduction of "outrageous conspiracy theories ... that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists, themselves, away from the guilty."
