9/11 truth groups dissect Rumsfeld's 'another attack' quip

A newly-revealed speech delivered by former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld before an audience of Pentagon-sponsored military analysts in December 2006 is providing ample grist for 9/11 conspiracy theorists.

An audio recording of the speech was one of a large number of items released by the Pentagon on May 8 as a result of Freedom of Information requests. The New York Times had filed the requests in the course of preparing its expose of the Pentagon's use of supposedly independent retired military officers to present its message on network news shows.

May 1 was the fifth anniversary of George Bush’s “Mission Accomplished” speech, in which he claimed, “Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed.”

MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann began his commemoration of this anniversary by saying there had been nothing comparable to Bush’s “misleading, disingenuous, deliberately deceptive” speech since Neville Chamberlain’s declaration of “peace for our time” after capitulating to Hitler in 1938.

Olbermann noted that even now the administration keeps insisting that the only problem with the speech was that the huge “Mission Accomplished” banner behind Bush on the aircraft carrier was misinterpreted as referring to the Iraq War rather than to the mission of that particular ship. “We have certainly paid a price for not being more specific,” stated White House Press Secretary Dana Perino on Tuesday.

Top comedian and actress Margaret Cho has joined Willie Nelson and Charlie Sheen in questioning the official 9/11 story, stating that the public were going to become very angry when they realized there was a conspiracy behind the terror attacks.

Appearing on the nationally syndicated Alex Jones Show, Cho said her doubts about 9/11 were sparked by President Bush's non-reaction to the unfolding crisis.

"I got concerned right after 9/11 where the plane had hit the World Trade Center and he was in that classroom with all those children and they told him what was going on and he did nothing," said Cho.

"We were attacked for the first time on American soil and he did nothing - that's when I realized there was something very very wrong," she added.

The American Society of Civil Engineers - an organization that was funded by FEMA to investigate the collapse of the twin towers on 9/11 - has been accused of engaging in a cover-up to protect the government, with critics charging the organization falsified conclusions that skyscrapers could not withstand getting hit by airplanes.

The group has been forced to convene an investigative panel which could lead to a suspension in government funding.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency paid the group about $257,000 to investigate the World Trade Center collapse and their report was released in 2002.

Highly decorated former New York City detective Bo Dietl admits that his first instinct on 9/11 was that the twin towers were downed with explosives, as he conceded that he shared many questions about the official story with 9/11 truth activists he had formerly debunked on national television.

What started out as a adversarial confrontation with members of We Are Change turned into a cordial discussion as Dietl contradicted some of his previous public statements on 9/11 and appeared to agree with the group on several issues, presumably prompted by the fact that his daughter was doing a research paper on 9/11 which lent credence to the suspect nature of the official story behind the attacks.

A new study has revealed that the spectacular images broadcast around the world on september 11th 2001 have had a profound psychological impact upon people.

Researchers at Tufts University School of Medicine and the Newton Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts have found that every single person they assessed during a study has more vivid and intense dreams since the attacks occurred.

Dr. Ernest Hartmann, author of the study told Reuters Health that he believes everyone who witnessed the attacks has experienced some sort of trauma, or emotional arousal.
