Why KSM's Confession Rings False

It's hard to tell what the Pentagon's objective really is in releasing the transcript of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's confession. It certainly suggests the Administration is trying to blame KSM for al-Qaeda terrorism, leading us to believe we've caught the master terrorist and that al-Qaeda, and especially the ever-elusive bin Laden, is no longer a threat to the U.S.

But there is a major flaw in that marketing strategy. On the face of it, KSM, as he is known inside the government, comes across as boasting, at times mentally unstable. It's also clear he is making things up. I'm told by people involved in the investigation that KSM was present during Wall Street Journal correspondent Danny Pearl's execution but was in fact not the person who killed him. There exists videotape footage of the execution that minimizes KSM's role. And if KSM did indeed exaggerate his role in the Pearl murder, it raises the question of just what else he has exaggerated, or outright fabricated.

Philip Rooney spent five grim weeks at the World Trade Center after it was destroyed by terrorists, catching glimpses of body parts as he cleared the debris. It was a land of ghosts he was proud to inhabit.

Just over five years later, the city Department of Transportation carpenter is dead at age 41.

Rooney died March 1 of acute leukemia, after logging 202 hours at the site beginning on 9/11, the DOT confirmed.

"He smelled the jet fuel. He said it was like a big graveyard," said Rooney's wife, Patricia.

It's impossible to say for sure what caused the Seaford, L.I., father of three to develop a disease that affects just one or two out of every 100,000 men in their 30s, said Rooney's doctor, Mark Heaney.

Rooney was diagnosed three years ago; his wife said she has "no doubt" her husband's exposure to Ground Zero is to blame.

This looks like a case of a lone nutter, or someone with an axe to grind, but I'll post it for your consideration because apparently the guy is releasing a DVD(?).

Retired Northwest Airlines pilot joins the 9/11 conspiracy movement

As anyone who spends much time trolling conspiracy theory websites knows, 9/11 has become the JFK assassination for a new generation. Naturally, there is considerable dissent among the "truth movement" types about the particulars. Some believe a commercial airliner struck the Pentagon on 9/11, others contend it was a missile. But most are in agreement that the dark conspiracy has links to the Bush White House.

Then there is retired Northwest Airlines pilot Field McConnell. McConnell, who lives in rural Glyndon, Minnesota, claims that another 9/11 attack is imminent, Muslim terrorists are scapegoats, and that commercial airliners have been rigged with "Improvised Killing Devices."

Anybody in Las Vegas? Wanna help us out?
As you may or may not be aware, the legendary Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada will be imploded at approximately 2:30 AM on Tuesday, March 13th. The nearby main road is being closed off between midnight and 4:00 A.M, and all signs nail the demolition at 2:30 AM.

The more steady, descriptive shots the better. We'll do whatever we can to compensate those that shoot footage. If you happen to get some coverage of it, please let us know.

The Firefighters' Union is holding a bipartisan election forum on March 14, 2007. They have invited several presidential candidates, but not Rudy Giuliani. Here is an excerpt of a statement from the firefighters:

Wyden pushes for release of CIA 9/11 report

WASHINGTON - Believing that the American people have a right to know how the CIA performed prior to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), a senior member of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, today, offered an amendment Wednesday that would require the Director of the CIA to declassify the Executive Summary of the CIA Inspector General's report on 9/11.

The CIA report is the only major 9/11 government review that has not been made public.

Wyden's amendment to the "Improving America's Security by Implementing Unfinished Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007" (S.4) is cosponsored by U.S. Senators Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) and Kit Bond (R-MO), the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Popular journalist Gwynne Dyer has joined the likes George Monbiot, Alex Cockburn, and other establishment leftists. Today in the New Zealand Herald he applies the good ol' "it would take too many conspirators" argument against 9/11 Truth (note, also, the 'viral' metaphor):

"The 9/11 conspiracy theory is back, in a much more virulent form, and normally sane people are being taken in by it. I get half a dozen earnest emails every day telling me I must see a film called Loose Change.

It has been around in various versions for almost two years, but it now seems to be gathering converts faster than ever.

Well, I have seen it, and I concede that it is a much slicker, more professional product than other 9/11 conspiracy films, and therefore more seductive.

But the argument is pure paranoid fantasy and it is rotting people's brains.

There have always been two versions of the 9/11 conspiracy theory. The lesser version held that the Bush Administration had advance intelligence of al Qaeda's plans but chose to ignore the warning because the attacks suited its purposes.

The story of AT&T whistleblower Mark Klein is a prime example of what 9/11 Truth needs, and what stands in our way. This is from ABC's The Blotter:

Whistle-blower AT&T technician Mark Klein says his effort to reveal alleged government surveillance of domestic Internet traffic was blocked not only by U.S. intelligence officials but also by the top editors of the Los Angeles Times.

In his first broadcast interview, which can be seen tonight on World News and Nightline, Klein describes how he stumbled across "secret NSA rooms" being installed at an AT&T switching center in San Francisco and later heard of similar rooms in at least six other cities, including Atlanta, San Diego, Los Angeles, Palo Alto, San Jose and Seattle.

"You needed an ordinary key and the code to punch into a key pad on the door, and the only person who had both of those things was the one guy cleared by the NSA," Klein says of the "secret room" at the AT&T center in San Francisco.

The NSA is the National Security Agency, the country's most secretive intelligence agency, charged with intercepting communications overseas.

Just a reminder that the debate with NIST would have taken place a few days from now; however, NIST "scientists" refused to defend their own work. Instead, NIST engineers choose safe speaking engagements in which they can deny the existence of molten metal at Ground Zero.
