Curt Weldon Called to Testify in Moussaoui Trial

Congressman subpoenaed for 9/11 trial - CNN

Attorneys for al Qaeda conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui have subpoenaed Pennsylvania Congressman Curt Weldon to testify at a trial that will determine whether Moussaoui should be executed.

The defense is seeking Weldon's testimony to try and show that the government knew more about the September 11, 2001, attacks than Moussaoui did.
..
Weldon, vice chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, contends that Able Danger mined computer data to identify four of the 19 hijackers, including leader Mohammed Atta, as al Qaeda operatives a year and a half before the September 11 attacks.

A 9/11 Conspirator in King Bush's Court? - Huffington Post

While Cindy Sheehan was being dragged from the House gallery moments before President Bush delivered his State of the Union address for wearing a t-shirt honoring her son and the other 2,244 US soldiers killed in Iraq, Turki al-Faisal was settling into his seat inside the gallery. Faisal, a Saudi, is a man who has met Osama bin Laden and his lieutenants on at least five occasions, describing the al Qaeda leader as "quite a pleasant man." He met multiple times with Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar.

Al-Qaeda Propagandizes For Bush On Eve Of State of the Union

http://www.globalresearch.ca

Hot on the heels of Osama bin Laden's latest release, an audio tape that boosted George W. Bush's poll numbers despite it being described as a probable fake by bin Laden expert Professor Bruce Lawrence, Ayman al-Zawahri has popped up on the eve of the State of the Union to hand Bush all the ammunition he needs to threaten American citizens for a sixth consecutive time.
...
Previous tapes which featured Ayman al-Zawahri were found to be cobbled together from old footage but that doesn't bother a lapdog media well versed in manufacturing consent and never offering retractions when said tapes turn out to be questionable frauds.

9/11 ATTACKS - Avoiding the hard questions

..Lately, however, it would seem the public's verdict is in: Don't tell us. Keep us in the dark. We don't want to know.

This is the worst possible time for probe-ophobia to grip us. Our nation was irretrievably transformed by 9/11 -- and yet there remain troubling questions about what really happened before, during and after that day. Rather than demanding a full and fearless vetting to hone in on the truth and silence the conjecture about 9/11, many Americans remain unwilling to peer into the microscope.

9/11 Becomes Political Fodder for the State of the Union Address

Here are two tales of the same story, one from each side of the political spectrum, neither paying any attention to the actual story that a family member wants serious answers from this administration.

9/11 'truth' on their minds as Bush speaks tonight - NYDailyNews

President Bush won't be the only one making political points about 9/11 at tonight's State of the Union speech.

At least two New Yorkers invited to the address by state lawmakers will be there to illustrate their own, very different points.

Activists rally for Bush impeachment

The new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds congressional Democrats in the best position they've held in 14 years, besting President Bush and Republican lawmakers on Iraq, the economy, health care, immigration, ethics and more.

All of which can mean only one thing: It is time for the Democrats to eat their own.

The big question for activists these days is: "How can I make a real difference?". In all too many cases, we are left the with the conclusion that we must do "something", even if we don't imagine we'll change anything. Carol Brouillet is one activist who brings a sensible strategic perspective to her effective on-the-ground organizing. She looks for points of leverage, where her initiatives are most likely to bear fruit.
