Worker injured at Ground Zero to give kidney to stranger

John Feal knows a lot about suffering. Permanently disabled during rescue efforts at the World Trade Center, he dedicated his life to helping others. Now he is giving even more than money or time - he is donating a precious kidney to a former Queens man he met over the Internet.

"He went to my Web site, fealgoodfoundation.com, and told me what good work I was doing," said Feal of Paul Grossfeld, a former Sunnyside resident who now lives in Marlboro, N.J. After Grossfeld told him he needed a kidney, Feal didn't think twice. "I told him, I'll do it. "

Seven days after the terrorist attacks, Feal was working demolition at Ground Zero when an 8,000-pound steel beam fell onto his left foot. The man next to him fainted when he saw the blood spurting from the injury. Feal, an Army veteran from Nesconset, made a tourniquet out of his belt and yelled for help.

As part of our on-going efforts to bring 9/11 Truth and related issues greater attention I would like to propose that our action on January 11th focus on the plight of the first responders and other victims of the toxic dust.

For my part I will be freeway blogging on January 11th with a specific focus on the need to help those suffering from the toxic dust as well as calling attention to the 9/11 toxic dust itself. I will also be calling my local House member, Speaker Pelosi, my two Senators and Senator Reid. Additionally I will make a point of telling everyone I meet about the plight of 9/11 dust victims. I will also write letters to the editors of the local papers and the S.F. Chronicle regarding this issue.

I think that this is an especially good issue to open our 2007 campaign with for the following reasons:

1) These people are suffering and the government has turned its back on them. Supporting them is the moral thing to do.

2) Helping these people is a very positive goal and a great way to start the year. The need our help NOW.

3) This is an issue that many people do not know about and is a relatively non-controversial entre' to 9/11 Truth.

4) This is an issue which is relatively non-threatening to the MSM and will allow us to get our foot in the door with them and begin to cultivate a real dialogue which can lead to more interest in the truth of 9/11. This is a classic human interest/environmental story that can easily be presented by and to the MSM.

Journalist Wayne Barrett discussed Rudy Giuliani's run for president and his performance on 9/11, on Democracy Now yesterday. From the transcript:

"I can tell you, having just written the book, about Giuliani's performance on 9/11, that there’s a lot of 9/11 families who are outraged by his performance. You don't have to rely on me. Tom Kean and Lee Hamilton, in their own book, which came out simultaneous with mine, reported that the biggest failing of the 9/11 Commission was how they treated Giuliani at that May 2004 hearing, where they gave him a pass on every question, let him tell the same anecdotal speech he usually gets paid $100,000 to tell. And so, they said that because the families were so outraged at the pass that he was given -- and they wrote this in their own book -- they cancelled the buses to the final hearing in July or June in 2004 down in Washington. Hundreds of families that were expected to go cancelled, because they were so offended by the way in which the 9/11 Commission treated the families.

Rudy has, I’m sure, some families he can turn to that will support him for president. But there are many families who I’ve talked to in the course of reporting this book who were outraged by his performance. I mean, the city was about as prepared for that attack, despite the 1993 bombing, as apparently the Giuliani campaign was prepared for some sort of a security leak from their campaign."

In the third hour of her January 2nd radio show, Randi Rhodes discussed Bush senior's recent odd behavior - referencing the Warren commission report and JFK conspiracy theories during his speech at Ford's memorial. Randi drew comparisons to his recent breakdown while giving a speech regarding his son Jeb. She questions whether his recent strange behavior is due to a forthcoming wave of questions by the incoming democratic majority. Amongst this segment Randi quite bluntly questions the collapses of the twin towers as well as WTC7.

Let's hope that Randi will continue to voice her concerns over what really happened on 9/11, and that her voice won't fall on deaf ears with the incoming democratic majority.
