"For Eli" (Fu** Your Yellow Ribbon) Andrea Gibson at the 2006 poetry slam

This "issue", in effect, is what opened my eyes to 9/11 truth three years ago. Andrea and Remo could/should collaborate maybe . . . What horror dwells in the hearts of all parents whose child was killed on 9/11 or in Afghanistan or Iraq? Or anyone else's connected? Spouses, siblings, children, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, friends, fiance(e)s . . . . I can't even begin to comprehend. And 1,000 suicides per month? At what point do our silent citizens and our spineless Congress say enough? We've been waiting too long.

Yes, god damn America. In this sense, former U.S. Marine Reverend Wright was right. The African American community has known truths for a long time that many of we(us?) white folks are just waking up to . . .

This Week in 9/11

http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2008/04/this-week-in-911-truth.html

This has been a fast-paced week. For those of who you have been busy to keep up, let me summarize:

Nova M DJ Mike Malloy takes on 9/11

"To know that this administration has lied us into two wars that have cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of people... solidifies for me the TRUTH that anything they say, is a lie. Or, everything they say is a lie, is another way of putting it. Everything that this administration says is a lie. If they have an official version of the events of 9/11, it is by definition, a lie. It has to be. Because this is an administration that lies about everything. There're no way to weasel out of that, you can't get out of that. An administration that will lie a country into war... will lie about everything. You don't have to be a genius to figure that out, or to come to that conclusion... There are some very, very brave, intelligent people, and expert people in their fields, who have said, 'No. This [9/11] is a lie.'"
- Mike Malloy, Nova M broadcast, April 28,2008

Yesterday, Mike Malloy (formerly of Air America radio) announced on his Nova M blog that he would be dedicating parts, if not complete shows, to talking about 9/11 starting with last night's broadcast;

Just Breathe

Deep breath. Another.

Good. Begin.

From smokingmirrors.blogspot.com:
...

"If you are in a position to know the truth and you have a reputation for telling the truth and you do not, then maybe this will shame you into it but I suspect it won’t. I’m sorry . . .Maybe you know something I don’t. Maybe you can help me to understand because I don’t understand. I see lies and I see murder most foul. If you support these lies then your hands have blood on them."

After reading this and - over the years since 9/11/2001 - dozens and dozens of articles regarding the events of that day and the subsequent examinations of all the available evidence, I have come to an understanding. This clear understanding will influence my political thinking, and the way I see the people who were in charge of my country on that day, until the day I die.

Getting Away With Torture

Legal maneuvering has shielded those responsible for conditions at Guantánamo Bay.

May 5, 2008 Issue

Our "terror trials" aren't working. The prosecutions of a fistful of prisoners at Guantánamo Bay—just getting underway after more than six years—are barely moving forward. Evidence is flimsy and stale. Prisoners claiming to have been abused and subjected to involuntary use of drugs are refusing to participate in their trials. There may yet be verdicts at Guantánamo. But following years of abuse, neglect and secrecy, there won't be justice. The other place we won't see legal accountability is at the upper levels of the Bush administratiom, where evidence of lawbreaking is largely dismissed or ignored. I want to be clear that there is no moral equivalence between the actions of members of the Bush administration and those of alleged "enemy combatants" at Guantánamo. But both the tribunals at Guantánamo and the wrongdoing in the Bush administration reflect how legal processes can fail under extreme political pressure.

Who profits from the Iraq war? More than a quarter of senators and congressmen have invested at least $196 million of their own money in companies doing business with the Department of Defense (DoD) that profit from the death and destruction in Iraq.

According to the latest reports, 151 members of Congress invested close to a quarter-billion in companies that received defense contracts of at least $5 million in 2006. These companies got more than $275.6 billion from the government in 2006, or $755 million per day, according to FedSpending.org, a website of the watchdog group OMBWatch.
