THIS DAY IN HISTORY
Al-Qaeda Tried To Destroy WTC With Help Of FBI? Two terrorists parked a van filled with explosives in an underground garage, but failed to destroy the Twins. By Mladen Starčević. Translated by Karmen Horvat
Ramzi Yousef and Eyad Ismoli parked their red van in an underground garage of the World Trade Centre North Tower on February 26, 1993. They stepped outside, gazed at each other, lit a 60-metre fuse and walked away.
Twenty minutes later, at 12:17 hours, the bomb made a 30 mete hole through four underground concrete stories, killing six and injuring 1,042 people.
Smoke of the explosion went up the stairs all the way to the 93 rd floor, but the Twins were left standing, probably to Yousef and Eyad`s disappointment.
Pre-9/11 warrantless wiretapping (thanks to George Washington for collecting these links):
Court rejects Obama bid to stop wiretapping suit
By DEVLIN BARRETT – 20 hours ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration has lost its argument that a potential threat to national security should stop a lawsuit challenging the government's warrantless wiretapping program.
A federal appeals court in San Francisco on Friday rejected the Justice Department's request for an emergency stay in a case involving a defunct Islamic charity.
Yet government lawyers signaled they would continue fighting to keep the information secret, setting up a new showdown between the courts and the White House over national security.
Book- 'Real Enemies: Conspiracy Theories and American Democracy, World War I to 9/11' by Kathryn S. Olmsted
The 9/11 Commission Report presents a theory, and supports it by omitting and distorting hundreds of relevant facts. Its conclusions and statements are in contradiction with what has been established by government reports (incl. the Joint Inquiry) and mainstream media. Enough with the 'theories'; there needs to be an accounting, full criminal and Congressional investigations, accountable to the public. Those who were responsible for US intelligence and defense need to testify under oath in answer to real questions (not softballs and ass-kisses). The Bush Administration, FBI, NSA, CIA, NORAD and FAA have not presented an honest, coherent accounting for why 9/11 happened that includes what's already in the public record, and that's bad news for the Republic. There are too many facts that are more readily explained by a 'conspiracy' involving people other than/in addition to al Qaeda- such as the destruction of WTC 1, 2 & 7, repeated FAA/NORAD failures, coincident war games, CIA/FBI/NSA tracking suspects but violating standard procedures and not using common sense, world-wide unusual trading leading up to 9/11, etc.
Picking up on the controversial proposal he made during a Feb. 9 speech at Georgetown University, Sen.Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) today reiterated his call for a “truth commission” on the Senate floor and said the Senate Judiciary Committee would hold a hearing next Wednesday to begin to consider the idea.
“I’ve seen what’s happened before with prosecutions,” added Leahy, clearly anticipating some objections from the left. “We don’t find the whole truth, but prosecute those on the way bottom of the chain of command.”
An academic in France has been sacked by the Ministry of Defence after questioning the official version of events surrounding the 9/11 attacks. He now reportedly plans to sue the government.
Aymeric Chauprade lost his job allegedly over the introduction to his latest book about political crises around the world, and more specifically, that the 9/11 attacks in New York City and Washington D.C. were an orchestrated American-Israeli conspiracy. The Defence Minister had strong objections to the material, so Aymeric had to go.
In the comming days, I will post several german-speaking interviews with Dr. Daniele Ganser, an academic historian from Switzerland who has researched false flag terrorism in Europe. Besides his publicity around the 9/11 truth movement, I think also his historical work about the so-called "secret armies" is extremly interesting.
Here is the fourth video of several in a row. I'll try to translate about one segment each weekend after work and post them here:
Sorry for possible spelling mistakes.
Footage was shot for secret.tv.
(Note: This dates from July of 2008. It wasn't circulated very well, that's for sure. -rep.)
Local Chico, California CBS station airs piece on the Truth movement.
They actually presented it as news in a non-judgmental, journalistic manner. They also showed three views of the collapse of WTC 7. They get it! They showed it!
This needs to go viral. So far, it's only had 368 views. People should be encouraged to send the URL for this video or a copy to their local TV stations.
Sandia National Laboratories Test Exonerates Ivins ~ We need to be the Media on this story. Spread it to all politically inclined contacts.
While government apologists are still trying to pretend there is a case that Bruce Ivins was the anthrax killer, tests by Sandia National Laboratories have exonerated him.
As the publisher of the prestigious scientific journal Nature writes:
At a biodefence meeting on 24 February, Joseph Michael, a materials scientist at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, presented analyses of three letters sent to the New York Post and to the offices of Senators Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy. Spores from two of those show a distinct chemical signature that includes silicon, oxygen, iron, and tin; the third letter had silicon, oxygen, iron and possibly also tin, says Michael. Bacteria from Ivins' RMR-1029 flask did not contain any of those four elements.
9/11 is mentioned at the end.
The Economics of Trust
A 2005 letter in premier scientific journal Nature reviews the research on trust and economics:
Trust ... plays a key role in economic exchange and politics. In the absence of trust among trading partners, market transactions break down. In the absence of trust in a country's institutions and leaders, political legitimacy breaks down. Much recent evidence indicates that trust contributes to economic, political and social success.
Forbes wrote an article in 2006 entitled "The Economics of Trust". The article summarizes the importance of trust in creating a healthy economy:
