Prior to Dr. Griffin appearing at the University of Southern Maine a local columnist, Al Diamon, wrote a hit piece which appeared in a local weekly, The Portland Phoenix, a sister publication to the Boston Phoenix. Because Al Diamon's columns appear in several newspapers around Maine, his piece got pretty broad coverage in the state. I write for one of the papers his column appeared in and my editor let me have equal time to present the opposing opinion. The following appears in the Lakes Region Weekly, a weekly serving the communities around the Portland area. Solo Truth Action in Newcastle, Australia on the 14 of May 2010

After stumbling across 9/11 Truth on the internet about three years ago I contacted John Bursill of 9/11 Truth Australia and have been a passionate 9/11 Truther ever since. I feel privileged to have been involved with two successful conferences in Sydney, Australia and am honoured to have met some of my 9/11 Truth heroes.

I attended a talk in my hometown of Newcastle on 14 May 2010 by ex-Fire Fighter, ex-Chief Dan Daly, about 9/11 and how it changed his life. The talk was organised by a Catholic Church Chaplain through his Passionist Family Group and cost $5.00. The Chaplain is a personal friend of Dan and was in New York on September 11, 2001.

Dan Daly was promoted to Fire Captain with Engine 52 in 2001. The service was to take place on September 12, 2001. On September 11, 2001 his rig was one of the last to arrive at the Twin Towers. He and his crew arrived from the Bronx just as WTC 7 collapsed. He spent the next six months at Ground Zero. Dan retired in November 2002 and spent five years with the State Department’s Cultural Educational Exchange Program. Dan has given speeches worldwide. His clients include US Department of State, King Pharmaceutical and Lehman Brothers. Dan has been an Ambassador of Peace for the US Department of State.

Businessweek reports on a study of the health consequences of WTC dust for Ground Zero workers...

The study was funded by the U.S. National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders.

The findings are based on an investigation involving 102 volunteer and paid post-9/11 World Trade Center workers.

Although most of the study participants were unaware of any smelling hardship, the authors found that two years after the exposure, 22 percent of the workers were less able to detect odors, while almost 75 percent were less able to detect irritants that cause pain, tingling, burning, stinging and/or prickling.

In terms of irritant detection, such long-term smelling impairment was harshest among those who were on the World Trade Center site immediately following the buildings' collapse. Such workers were rendered almost totally unable to detect irritants, the researchers found.
