Rep. Jane Harman to quit Congress: reportsWASHINGTON – Ten-year Rep. Jane Harman, a Democrat from California, is expected to resign from Congress soon to head the Washington-based Woodrow Wilson Center, according to three major media outlets.
NBC's Andrea Mitchell broke the news on Twitter Monday morning, writing: "[S]ources tell me Jane Harman to quit Congress succeed Lee Hamilton heading Woodrow Wilson Center, DC think tank - will be official tomorrow[.]"
An NBC article added that Harman will become the president and CEO of the Wilson Center, a nonpartisan research institute.
The news was soon confirmed by Mike Allen of Politico, who heard from a "a close friend of Harman's" that the congresswoman's resignation was likely imminent.
The Washington Post's Chris Cillizza also confirmed with "two senior Democratic leadership aides" that Harman intends to quit.

Slingshot to the Juggernaut
In the ten years since 9/11, a grassroots truth movement has sprung up that unites the best elements of the Right and Left. The call to resist the secrecy, imperialism, and the manipulation of the elite has been heard by a wide spectrum of people, across religious and political lines. Here is a fertile ground for serious change.
The call to truth and peace is a call being heard by a massive resistance in North Africa right now. We here in the USA have suffered from tyranny, secrecy and a growing police state. It’s time for the people of the USA to join the new global revolution.

NIST's Fahim Sadek in Denmark - 1 hour video
On June 10, 2010, Dr. Fahim Sadek of NIST (fahim.sadek@nist.gov), an investigator who produced the Bush Administration's report on the WTC, gave a lecture at the Engineering College of Aarhus on the entire WTC Investigation. This is apparently the only time that NIST has given a detailed talk on their entire investigation.
It was expected that Sadek would take questions at the end of the lecture. However, nobody was allowed to ask any. Nevertheless, before Sadek left, Dr. Niels Harrit managed to catch him for a brief talk.
Three months before on February 28th, 2010, Dr. Niels Harrit gave a presentation on the collapse of World Trade Center 7 in Aarhus, Denmark, as well. Hundreds of invitations were sent to both journalists, city council members and various members of the scientific community. More than 300 people attended, among them several professors from the Engineering College of Aarhus.
Despite prohibiting filming or any other documentation of Sadek's presentation, over an hour of video the presentation was pieced together from several hidden video- and sound recorders. This is that presentation and the Sadek-Harrit exchange.
Media role as instrument for powerful elite
Jim Naurekas is editior of the magazine "extra", which stands for fairness and accuracy in reporting, and part of an (US) american based media watch group. In connection with the media-coverage of the uprising in Egypt, he was asked by Al Jazeera, what role the media plays in the US. His answer from New York, time-index 06:30:
"Well, I think, in any country, in any society, the media are an important institution for maintaining the stability of the people, who are in power. And the US is no exception to that. We have a media, that is very commercialized, very corporate. There is only a very marginal public sector in US-Media and so you have in the US a media, which is closely allied with the corporate establishment, which in turn has in very close tie to government."

On Monday 31st January 2011, in solidarity with Jon Gold's action outside the White House, I took a ‘911 Truth’ sign to Downing Street – the British Prime Minister lives at No. 10 – and sat down outside the gates. Within seconds I was approached by a policeman carrying a machine gun who demanded I immediately move, a request with which I respectfully declined to comply with. After ten minutes I was approached by two Ministry of Defence policemen who issued the same request. We talked a little about 9/11. Moments later a police van pulled up and four police officers got out – I was also surprised to see a further four Ministry of Defence policeman approaching to see what was going on. After explaining that I was respectfully going to decline all further requests to move on I found myself being dragged from where I was sitting, put into the police van, and driven away to Charing Cross Police Station.
I was released later the next evening having been detained for 30 hours. I’m glad I took a good book!
