Conspiracies & Cures: A three hour interview with Massimo Mazzucco on COAST to COAST

Host: George Noory
Guests: Massimo Mazzucco, Laurie Ann Levin
Italian filmmaker and conspiracy theorist Massimo Mazzucco discussed his work researching the 9-11 attacks
While he doesn't propose a complete explanation for what happened during the 9-11 attacks, he has gathered evidence to show that the official version of the events is false. For instance, there are no airport security images of the hijackers, yet a number of their photos and ID papers were recovered intact after the plane crashes. He also cited the account of a janitor named William Rodriguez who said he heard an explosion before the plane hit the tower, and how the 9-11 Commission discarded his testimony. The common denominator in various conspiracies is that the "power elite" want to control the masses through the manipulation of information, he added.
JERSEY CITY — New Jersey teachers have a new set of tools for teaching about the 9/11 terror attacks.
New K-12 curriculum providing lessons on 9/11, its causes and context, were formally released this morning at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City.
Written by a volunteer group called 4 Action Initiative — which is made of Families of September 11, Liberty Science Center and the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education — the collection of 58 lessons delves into themes such as the historical context of terrorism, human behavior, and remembrance and public memory.
The classes are not mandated for use in New Jersey schools, but Acting State Education Commissioner Christopher Cerf, who was also present at the formal launch, said the state supports its use. "The program is so strong, I assume many, many schools will use it," Cerf said.
MEDIA ROOTS- This episode covers sensationalism in the corporate media about meaningless issues, media censorship about nuclear energy and the terrifying reality of Fukushima, issues surrounding war and US imperialism, the global democratic revolution, Charlie Veitch's 180 regarding 9/11 and the importance for us to be our own leaders in our quest for truth.
It's Raining Trillions
Why The US Won't Leave Afghanistan
Surge, bribe and run? Or surge, bribe and stay? How US military bases and the energy war play out in Afghanistan.
By Pepe Escobar
July 13, 2011 "Al Jazeera" - - Among multiple layers of deception and newspeak, the official Washington spin on the strategic quagmire in Afghanistan simply does not hold.
No more than "50-75 'al-Qaeda types' in Afghanistan", according to the CIA, have been responsible for draining the US government by no less than US $10 billion a month, or $120 billion a year.
At the same time, outgoing US Defense Secretary Robert Gates has been adamant that withdrawing troops from Afghanistan is "premature". The Pentagon wants the White House to "hold off on ending the Afghanistan troop surge until the fall of 2012."
That of course shadows the fact that even if there were a full draw down, the final result would be the same number of US troops before the Obama administration-ordered AfPak surge.

The US suffers from debt-damned economics: a Robber Baron-era paradigm whereby the harder Americans work, the more in debt we collectively descend. The reason is public confusion between “money” (which the US does not create and use to facilitate trade) and “debt/credit” (which our government says is “money” and what is created). Our modern-day Robber Baron/oligarchs maintain this confusion with the willing help of US corporate media’s intentional obfuscation.
Here’s an interview to hear me discuss our predicament and obvious solutions.
So what do we do to stop transferring literally trillions of dollars of benefits every year from working Americans to oligarchs? With competent citizenry that understands, demands, and holds our group work (government) accountable for transparency, I recommend three concurrent strategies:

New York (CNN) -- The National September 11th Memorial, set to open to the public on September 12 this year, is expecting quite a large number of visitors, if advanced ticket reservations are any indication.
Monday, reserved passes to the memorial became available on its website, and 24 hours later, 42,000 passes had been reserved, according to Joe Daniels, president and CEO of the National September 11th Memorial and Museum.
"We're super happy with the demand," Daniels said. "It's definitely still early in this, and it's pretty gratifying that everything that everybody's been working on to complete the memorial is getting to take that first step and get people to see it."
Daniels expects several million people to visit the memorial over the course of the first year, possibly as many as four million depending on how flexible people are with their schedules, as passes are reserved in advance for a specific day and time.
"I think the bottom line is, we know there is a huge demand to visit what is probably the most sacred site in the United States," Daniels said. "At the same time this memorial is going to
be here forever."
I was introduced to Kevin Fenton sometime in 2006. We met on 911blogger.com where he was a contributor for many years. I respected his keen insight and appreciated the fact that he used mainstream media accounts and Government documents for his postings there. Kevin is a contributor to the Complete 9/11 Timeline available at www.historycommons.org, along with people like Paul Thompson.
Eventually, Kevin signed up on my site, and started posting his information there. In September 2007, I started work on something I called the Who Is? Archives that was based on the material of the timeline. Kevin was kind enough to write several of the introductions for people mentioned.
Anonymous group creates whistleblower sites
by Elinor Mills CNET
July 1, 2011
A subgroup of the Anonymous hacker group has launched two WikiLeaks-type Web sites where insiders and other hackers can expose sensitive information from governments and corporations.
The LocalLeaks.tk site is for information related to corruption and wrongdoing at a local level, while the HackerLeaks.tk site is for any other stolen data.
The HackerLeaks site, which launched on June 25, got its first submission on Tuesday--a list of personal details of Orlando, Fla., officials--though the data was posted to the LocalLeaks site, according to Forbes, which reported on the sites on Thursday. The Anonymous hacker group has shut down several Orlando-related sites to protest the city arresting several members of the group Food Not Bombs.

As 9/11’s tenth anniversary approaches, the issues surrounding that seminal event are just as relevant today and a lot more urgent. Despite the change of management, we still bomb, still rendition, still torture, still illegally wiretap, still detain indefinitely without habeas corpus and without counsel, among other international crimes. These days we can add a few more items to that list like irradiate children, feel up grandma at the airport, and throw people in jail for not paying their credit card bills. Another thing we still do in America: obstruct the truth when it conflicts with the official 9/11 storyline.
It's front page news today that:
Journalists at Rupert Murdoch’s now-shuttered News of the World paper tried to access the mobile phones of 9/11 victims, a former New York City police officer claimed on Monday.
It's also front page news today that the new Secretary of Defense - Leon Panetta - said that American soldiers are in Iraq because of 9/11, even though AFP notes:
That was one of the justifications for the 2003 US-led invasion, but the argument has since been widely dismissed.
(see this for details).
But a more important story - and one which might focus on a more appropriate country
country than Iraq - is that the co-chair of the Congressional Joint 9/11 Inquiry (Bob Graham) today alleged a cover up by the U.S. government of state assistance by Saudi Arabia to the 9/11 hijackers.
