As the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy grows nearer the inability of the Establishment news media to consider fairly the facts in the case remains as pronounced as it was during previous commemorations. In trying to explain why opinion polls have shown for decades now that a majority of Americans do not accept the Warren Commission's "lone gunman" theory, historians and journalists have often fallen back on what has become a familiar (yet unconvincing) narrative about the meaning of those horrific events in Dallas in November 1963.

The dominant storyline goes something like this: The American people could never accept the notion that a high school drop-out loser like Lee Harvey Oswald could single-handedly kill such an inspiring public figure as JFK, therefore they've embraced "conspiracy theories" to give meaning to what was essentially a meaningless act.

Lost my 20 yr. old son, Erick, to suicide a couple weeks after 9/11. My sister, JoAnna, a resident
of Manhattan, to lung cancer in 2007 - the dust. Erick was profoundly affected by the 10 hrs. of TV that Tuesday morning, afternoon, evening.

I missed 9/11 completely - my son's loss stopped all processes for two yrs. and for the next 8 yrs. I accepted the myth. I began working with the grief and at the 10th anniversary I began to work with the post traumatic stress/shock of finding him a few minutes too late to save him - a horrific shock and guilt and remorse and pain. I have a 5 yr. old boy now - the result of the prayers I said over and over while working on Erick as he died.

The point of this personal history is to tell you that I came to this discussion of the events of 9/11 with an open mind and somewhat pure in that I stopped TV about 1999; have read the truthers and the debunkers with as
much effort on both sides for the 1st 6 months. I try my best to stick to what seems beyond doubt:

The case against NIST is taking shape. Everybody agrees that the time has come to enter the courthouse.

Poll: Belief in JFK Conspiracy Slipping Slightly

A clear majority of Americans still suspect there was a conspiracy behind President John F. Kennedy's assassination, but the percentage who believe accused shooter Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone is at its highest level since the mid-1960s, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll.

According to the AP-GfK survey, conducted in mid-April, 59 percent of Americans think multiple people were involved in a conspiracy to kill the president, while 24 percent think Oswald acted alone, and 16 percent are unsure. A 2003 Gallup poll found that 75 percent of Americans felt there was a conspiracy.
