NIST and the WTC: "Science" at the Service of an Empire
This is the first article I have seen in response to the recently released NIST report. It was just sent to me from a 9/11 site in Finland. I have quoted a small section of it below, but it is definitely worth the read.

"Thorough, open, independent." This is how the National Institute of Standards and Technology characterizes [1] its 10 000-page, 750-Mb WTC draft study [2]. The tactics is clear: to drown the weak points of the official 9/11 story in an enormous amount of redundant information. However, those who know what they are looking for can soon find their way to the critical omissions in the reports.

The interview was very short, and as such very little could be covered. What amazed me was the callers who called in who sounded like everyday Americans who were aware of all of the holes in the official story of 9/11. Unfortunately the pentagon took up a large part of the time. Unfortunate only in that the pentagon crash is such a small part of the story of 9/11.

All in all the interview was great, and yours truly managed to get on as the next to last caller to ramble for about 40 seconds :) I also got in a plug for flight77.info as well.

The difference between Sibel Edmonds' case and the Downing Street Memos

Ms. Edmonds once had the pleasure of mainstream media attention in 2002, when she claimed that the FBI translation program was penetrated by a Turkish organization that deliberately mistranslated documents related to 9–11, but her story was lost down our collective memory mole once the drums for the Iraq war started to beat.

Then Edmonds reappeared in early 2004 with a vengeance, claiming that her lawsuit against the FBI for wrongful termination was being suppressed to protect high-level U.S. officials from criminal prosecution around the 9–11 attacks. However, this time, the major media outlets paid her much less attention than they had in 2002, with most mainline reporting on her case revolving around the Bush administration's extraordinary attempts to keep her testimony in the Motley-Rice lawsuit of the 9–11 families suppressed. Neither The New York Times nor the Washington Post nor any other major news outlet asked the obvious question, "What is the government trying to hide?"

The two men's eye-witness testimony, never before released in America, aired as part of a Spanish 2002 television 9/11 documentary in Colombia; Total of four eye-witnesses have now surfaced, all claiming a bomb exploded in the basement of the north tower just prior to airplane strike 90 floors above. Although testimony is in the public eye, it has been completely ignored by 9/11 Commission and mainstream media.in what looks like a government cover-up aided by a media blackout.

While listening to the radio today I overheard Al Franken saying that he will have Richard Clarke on tomorrow's show.

A lot of 9/11 skeptics are familiar with Clarke, his book, and his comments about 9/11. I would assume that there are a wealth of questions that could be asked. Clarke mentioned one of the wargames on 9/11 in his book as well as the dialog and details of Cheney's actions on 9/11. This may be a good opportunity to find out more details, or to ask some tough questions.

The government and the media told us what we saw. The government told us that we had witnessed a "gravitational" collapse; what is now referred to as a "pancake collapse". According to the government's, and PBS's, and Popular Mechanics', and Scientific American's theory, airplane crashes and subsequent kerosene (like lamp oil; jet fuel is NOT exotic) fires heated steel to the point where it was weakened, which is already very difficult to believe, nevermind repeat in an experiment. According to their "pancake theory", this imagined purported (all the evidence was subsequently illegally destroyed) weakening supposedly caused part of the tower to collapse downward onto the rest of the tower, which, we've been repeatedly told, somehow resulted in a chain reaction of lower floors, sequentially, one at a time, yielding to the floors falling from above.

`Inside 9/11` tracks terrorist attacks

The National Geographic Channel will air "Inside 9/11," a four-hour mini-series on the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.

Currently in production, "Inside 9/11" premieres Aug. 21 and Aug. 22, at 9 p.m. EDT.

The mini-series follows the footsteps of the terrorists as they formulated their plans, infiltrated the U.S. and executed their suicide missions. Tracing the timeline that led up to the deadly attacks, "Inside 9/11" deconstructs the events of that fateful day, tracking the movements of all four terrorist teams and patching together the government response.

Building Bridges to a New Media

Several 9/11 activists attended with the goal of distributing 600 DVDs and audio CDs of the David Ray Griffin lecture at the University of Wisconsin which was broadcast on C-Span in April 30th and May 8th. Along with the broad array of alternative media folks who received these, we were able to give them to almost every media celebrity. In the process we had many excellent conversations with people who were aware of David Ray Griffin's work as well as others who knew of the many anomalies of the official explanation and were beginning to realize the magnitude of the scandal. I spoke to a man who was an Air Force vet who said they had the ability to track all flights 35 years ago! He knew there was no credible explanation for the failure of our air defenses so he was open to hearing the rest of the evidence. Overall, the receptiveness was very positive.

rinf.com has hosted a 15 minute interview with William Rodriguez after his appearance in London during the 9/11 Euro-Tour. Rodriguez is a hero of 9/11 and one of the last to escape the north tower before its collapse. He was interviewed by the 9/11 Commission only to have his testimony left out. He contends that massive explosions were going off in the basement of the tower prior to the impact and 'collapse'.

This week has been quite a slow week for 9/11 related alternative news. I would assume a large part of that is due to the attacks on 7/7 in London. Since this site is focused on 9/11 news I have avoided much discussions of these recent attacks.

With that said, prisonplanet.com has a new article comparing an oddity from both 9/11 and 7/7, simulations of the attack occurring at the same time as the real attack.

In doing my browsing today I came across the name of Dr. Lueren Moret, an authority on depleted uranium, specifically an interview with her from early June. I noticed she made several comments about 9/11 in this recent article, hence my post.

She has made some pretty interesting comments about studies after 9/11 from the pentagon to ground zero on radiation and the possible use of depleted uranium. While I cannot vouch for her or her information I did find these comments interesting, and I thought I would see if others might be more familiar with her work and her associations. Besides, it is a slow day for 9/11 related news.
