Cost of Freedom Tour with Mike Palecek and Special Guests, Tucson, Arizona

In Tucson, Arizona, on Wed., March 19th, the 5th anniversary of the start of current Iraq war - - author, peace activist and former Federal prisoner for peace, Mike Palecek will discuss his latest book: Cost of Freedom, The Anthology of Peace and Activism. Palecek will be joined by fellow writers and photographers who collaborated on the project, including Michael Ratee, David Ray, Lilvia Soto, Joe Rebholz, and if we're lucky Raging Grannies. Mike will also talk about his latest novel, Iowa Terror which is based on the official lie of 9/11.

Mike Palecek served time in county jails and Federal prisons for civil disobedience at Offutt Air Force Base during the 1980's. Before working as a novelist and writer, he worked as a reporter for newspapers in Nebraska, Iowa and Minnesota. In 1994, Mike and Ruth Palecek's small Minnesota paper was named “Newspaper of the Year” by the Minnesota Newspaper Association. In 2000, Palecek was the Iowa Democratic Party nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives, 5th District, receiving 29% of the votes in the general election. Palecek now lives in Sheldon, Iowa and works at a group home for disabled adults.

The Cost of Freedom Book Tour with Mike Palecek and special guests will be held at the Northwest Center on March 19th, 2008. The Northwest Center is located at 2160 North 6th Ave., Tucson, Arizona - just south of Grant Rd. and west of Mansfield Park Doors open at 6:30 PM and the event starts at 7:00 PM. Seating is limited.
