Curt Weldon Called to Testify in Moussaoui Trial
Congressman subpoenaed for 9/11 trial - CNN
Attorneys for al Qaeda conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui have subpoenaed Pennsylvania Congressman Curt Weldon to testify at a trial that will determine whether Moussaoui should be executed.
The defense is seeking Weldon's testimony to try and show that the government knew more about the September 11, 2001, attacks than Moussaoui did.

Weldon, vice chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, contends that Able Danger mined computer data to identify four of the 19 hijackers, including leader Mohammed Atta, as al Qaeda operatives a year and a half before the September 11 attacks.

Weldon has spearheaded the call for Congress to hold public hearings on Able Danger and penned a letter signed by a bipartisan group of 248 members of Congress calling on Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to permit military analysts who worked on the program to testify."It is an important issue in understanding the full scope of 9/11," said Weldon's communications director, John Tomaszewski. "The venue and the time has not been decided."

"Able Danger" is 99% pure
"Able Danger" is 99% pure disinfo, intended to subtly but powerfully reinforce the ludicrous notions that 9/11 was caused by suicidal Muslim hijackers and airplane crashes, and that 9/11 could/would have been prevented if only we'd have surveilled Atta more effectively (ie, shoveling the same old hateful BS that we can blame 9/11 on Muslim hijackers).
Tying that in with the Moussaoui trial provides great synergy for the disinfo. Recall that Moussaoui is referred to as -- get ready for one of the most concentrated/powerful 9/11 disinfo phrases of all -- "the 20th hijacker".

I guess it also subtly but powerfully reinforces the ludicrous (and dangerous, unConstitutional) notion that what this nation (or what's left of it) really needs is more surveillance (ie, a bigger more powerful Big Brother, with more eyes and ears...).
