The Real Conspiracy Theory is the Official Story

Debunking Conspiracy Theorists - Paranoid Fantasies About 9-11 Detract From Real Issues
(hat tip to Gold)

Astute observers of history are aware that for every notable event there will usually be at least one, often several, wild conspiracy theories which spring up around it. "The CIA killed Hendrix", "The Pope had John Lennon murdered ", "Hitler was half Werewolf", "Space aliens replaced Nixon with a clone", etc, etc. The bigger the event, the more ridiculous and more numerous are the fanciful rantings which circulate in relation to it.

So it's hardly surprising that the events of Sept 11 2001 have spawned their fair share of these ludicrous fairy tales. And as always, there is sadly a small but gullible percentage of the population eager to lap up these tall tales, regardless of facts or rational analysis.

One of the wilder stories circulating about Sept 11, and one that has attracted something of a cult following amongst conspiracy buffs is that it was carried out by 19 fanatical Arab hijackers, masterminded by an evil genius named Osama bin Laden, with no apparent motivation other than that they "hate our freedoms."
..
As the nation gears up to impeach the traitor Bush, and stop his perpetual oil war, it's not helpful to have these idiots distracting from the process by spreading silly conspiracy theories about mythical Arabs, stories which do nothing but play into the hands of the extremist Bush regime.

At a less serious time, we might tolerate such crackpots with amused detachment, but they need to understand that the treachery that was perpetrated on Sept 11, and the subsequent war crimes committed in "retaliation", is far too serious for us to allow such frivolous self-indulgence to go unchallenged.

It is so funny how many 'conspiracy theories' we hear about in the media nowadays, it is definitely time to start calling them just that.

Terror threat: The great

I am amused that you would

I am amused that you would link to Gerard Holmgren's old paper - 2003 when he came out with it.

Gerard Holmgren is an accomplished musician for sure, but not a very good - or trained - physicist, chemist, structural engineer, or forensic scientist.

He is known officially as one of the esteemed founders of the 9/11 Denial Movement.

He is one that the "9/11 truth movement" would be advised to steer clear of lest it want to discredit itself.

I've had my run-ins with Gerard, first four years ago when I showed very simply the flaws of his paper,
"Physical and Mathematical Analysis of the Pentagon Crash" to which he could provide no explanations or rebuttals. Realizing he was on the spot, he fled the conversation.

Holmgren recently asserted the following:

"Only a controlled demolition explains both. As I said before, this isnÂ’t open to argument. When you find proof you have a right to state it as such." (See: http://9-11-inquiry.blogspot.com/2006/01/exchange-911-wtc-collapse-israe...)

Remember that as you evaluate Gerard Holmgren's papers and credibility for yourselves: "this isn't open to argument."

One of the things also "not open to argument" is his claim that there were no flights 11 and 175 that hit WTC 1 and 2. I have some advantage of knowing an American Airline stewardess whose flight assignment was AA Flight 11 on several days a week but not on Tuesday, Sept 11. It was one of her days off. She flew it on Monday. I know that Gerard is factually wrong on that point and I would never insult my friend by presenting such an obnoxious claim as Holmgren's.

I e-mailed Holmgren the links to Dr. Greening's papers that directly put Holmgren's arguments "not open to question" in question and suggested that he debunk them since he knows "so much" about the subject.

His response?

"His [Greening's] papers donÂ’t address the near free-fall collapse issue. ThatÂ’s why thereÂ’s nothing to refute."

Nice evasion, given that the first part of Dr. Greening's first paper (http://www.911myths.com/WTCREPORT.pdf) deals specifically and in detail with the rate of collapse, perhaps moreso than anyone to date.

I could go on at length about Gerard Holmgren's unique ability to discredit you guys, of course, but there is no reason for you to take my word for it since there seems to be a deep distrust of those of us skeptics who question 9/11 conspiracy theories.

You can do all the investigation of Gerard Holmgren yourselves. Just let this post serve as a caution. You can take it or leave it.

Cheers,
