UAE Port Security Deal Spurns Uproar From 9/11 Families
The Bush Administration "Hobnobs" With 9/11 Co-Conspirators - Jon Gold
Recently, the Committee on Foreign Investment approved a $6.8 Billion deal allowing a United Arab Emirates (UAE) based company, Dubai Ports World, to "oversee operations at six U.S. ports". The cities in which those ports sit are Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, Miami and New Orleans.
The problem with this deal is that the UAE, through banks in Dubai, launders terrorist money. They are also alleged to have links to two of the alleged 9/11 hijackers.
Michael Chertoff came to the defense of the deal by saying, "We make sure there are assurances in place, in general, sufficient to satisfy us that the deal is appropriate from a national security standpoint." Thanks Michael. That sure makes me feel safer. Especially when you take into account how you handled Katrina. Please resign immediately.
Rep. Charles Schummer (D-NY) says the President "should override the agreement and conduct a special investigation into the matter." I agree with him. How could an organization like the UAE, a co-conspirator in the 9/11 attacks, have gotten a deal to oversee our ports?

However, Lindsey Graham, a Republican Senator, described the Administration’s decision as “unbelievably tone deaf politicallyâ€. He added: “Most Americans are scratching their head wondering why this company, from this region, now.â€
Hillary Clinton, a New York Senator and front-runner for the next Democratic presidential nomination, is threatening legislation to block the take-over, saying that “our port security is too important to be placed in the hands of foreign governmentsâ€.
Charles Schumer, a Democratic Senator, has called on President Bush personally to “override the agreement and conduct a special investigation into the matterâ€. He was joined at a press conference by family members of September 11 victims, including Peter Gadiel and Bill Doyle, both of whom lost their sons in the attacks.
Mr Gadiel said: “I’m a lifelong Republican and I think the President’s gone insane.†Mr Doyle said: “We’re not securing our country in any way by selling our ports to foreigners.â€
If people still seriously think the 'war on terror' is real, or that we are really worried about our security, they should really catch up. Obviously the Bush administration isn't too worried about our ports being attacked, wonder why?

Likewise, the gov't quietly relaxed restrictions on bringing sharp objects onto planes a few months ago. Utilizing such objects was CRUCIAL to the (supposed) terrorists 9/11 hijackings. So why is it suddenly okay to bring these (supposed) deadly weapons back onto planes again?

Another painfully obvious ploy for Bush to show how GOOD they are at security. "We can sell our ports to Arab states, and STILL here's no terrorist attacks? You know why? It's the WIRETAPPING, stupid!"
I love when politicians
I love when politicians promote the fact that we haven't been hit since 9/11.... In order to make the "War On Terror" justified...
We all know the real reason is because our Government's ability to strike its' own people diminishes with each attack. After every attack, more and more people wake up to how our Government works, making it harder for them to attack us.
That's not to say they won't, but it makes them more cautious of doing so. Instead, they have to rely on the fear mongering of the media, and the "Terror Alerts", etc...
9/11 woke A LOT of people up. If there is another "attack", Martial Law will be instituted almost immediately.

The reason I used Abu Dhabi
The reason I used Abu Dhabi airport in my script for "The Hornet's Nest" is because I kept seeing UAE jets parked in strange out of the way places here in Cleveland right after 9/11. I think that this UAE port thing in the news is a hoot. "The Hornet's Nest" is a movie about international bankers and how they used crime families and the secret services from several powerful countries to pull off 9/11. (laundered drug money financed 9/11- there were no 19 hijackers, but there were 19 drug couriers) This is why UA 93's last flight is to Abu Dhabi airport.

The problem is that it that Dubai Ports World is a corporation.
