But yes, the Harvard/University of Chicago paper (that Dershowitz trashed so immediately) was written in part by a former professor of my mother's. A brilliant Jewish man, no less, named Mearsheimer. He's now been branded a traitor by many, which is really unfortunate. In fact, he spoke of being saddened that his career will not have the usual golden years of guest speaking at various institutions and universities because of his co-authorship. However, as Ray McGovern will tell you, what he says in that paper is hard to dispute.
We are at a real crossroads here, I believe. So many people are trying to cement ties between a particular religion and its "associated" political party. Reminds me of those "Got Milk" ads when I'm feeling especially cynical. We've seen this type of thing far too much in our past, but society simply refuses to get beyond it. In a way (I'm an Atheist, in case you hadn't already guessed) it reminds me of primate behavior, a remnant of our humble beginnings on this Earth.
