Comments Comments Comments

Some of you noticed that the comments section has gone away, this is not an error on your end, this is an intentional change by myself earlier today.

The comments section on this site has grown to be quite a negative and hateful section as time has gone on, and I quite frankly don't want this site to be associated with the typical trash that has become a majority of our comments.

We have a number of great people who have been visiting this site for over a year now, who have become regulars, and whom we have gotten to know through the comments. It seems however that as this site gains in viewership we are also gaining in the number of commenters who cannot get along with one another, who need to constantly focus on their differences instead of their similarities, and who have no issue turning the comments here into garbage.

I have taken the comments down, and will leave them down for the rest of the weekend. I would appreciate it if those who have an opinion as to whether the comments should stay or go would send in some feedback via the 'submit comments' link on the left.

So, instead of wasting time here in the comments, get out and do something productive!

the comments are back up for

the comments are back up for now, please keep the comments on point, and please for the love of god take the arguements and deep discussions to a message board forum!

I missed the comments. One

I missed the comments. One of the reasons I always come here.

DZ: Ever thought about

DZ:

Ever thought about adding a messageboard? phpbb is easy to set up and that way people can VIEW but would have to register to POST. Then, you can post your news in the blog without contamination, then post a corresponding thread in the Message Board and let the animals loose.

??? Just a thought

Thanks dz for putting the

Thanks dz for putting the message board back up. I understand your concern and frustration with some of the posts. I simply weed through the garbage and always manage to find the "jewels". I believe the interaction is what makes 911blogger.com the very best 9/11 truth site on the web. I have been turned on to some awful good links by your readers. I also love to hear other people's comments on the subject of 9/11. I always learn something new each time I access your web site. I also think DHS's suggestion of registering is a very good idea. It would help keep the Bush shills at a minimum.

Absolutely crazy to get rid

Absolutely crazy to get rid of the comments. They are the reason many come here. So what if people disagree and fall out from time to time. Everyone can make up their own minds as to whose opinion they respect and whose they don't.

sandy Agreed. Comments are

sandy

Agreed. Comments are simply a reflection of our freedom of expression.

That's why I've always been skeptical of websites that edit, delete and ban posters. It seems facist to me, unless there is a malicious intent behind the comment or an intent to spam the website.

I think the message board idea is a good one, although it's less user friendly. It could resolve some of the problems that have been encountered while still allowing one of the best features of this blog to continue.

Our comments provide for links and discourse that are essential both to the 9-11 truth movement and to democracy in general!

I would rather see the

I would rather see the comments moved to a BB. I know Jon Gold offered his site for this purpose, and he's doing great work. But that board is just difficult to read. The text is sandwiched between the giant avatars and signatures, making it unreadable.

Comments here get long and unwieldy and it's difficult to figure out quotes from responses.

This is one of the best research and discussion sites out there. A few tweaks will make it perfect. Thanks.

I think a proper

I think a proper messageboard for this site would be great. Then you could have a specific set of rules, which if broken will result in warnings, and three strikles and youre out.

That way, you can have a diplomatic basis for banning the trolls, but also allow yur readers to converse and post their own links, which I think is important.

Keep the comments. This is

Keep the comments. This is where we come to check out what's new or post what's new. As a pro internet surfer I'm adept at scanning over bullshit I have no need for, I'm sure others can handle it as well. Another of my favorite sites removed their comments/discussion feature last year for a similar reason and I hardly ever visit that site anymore. 911Blogger would still be extremely valuable without the interaction, but definitely diminished.

i understand its your

i understand its your policy, and i respect that, but these kinds of things tend to happen as you get more traffic on your site. you kind of have to expect some level of bickering to occur based on the uptick in people here.micromaniging is a slippery slope.dont end up like C&L.

i agree %100.some of the links some people here have provided are more than worth skimming through the bullshit of some trolls.

Please keep the comments! I

I agree!!!

The comments are the reason

The comments are the reason I come here! By all means, impose stricter controls via a message board format, if feasible. Please don't do away with the comments!

Agreed... keep the comments

Agreed... keep the comments section. The interaction is useful, and I know how to scroll past the garbage.
