DVD's of Keynote Speeches from '9/11 Revealing The Truth' Conference in Chicago Now Available

9/11 Revealing The Truth / Reclaiming Our Future Website

I just noticed that the website for the recent Chicago conference has been updated. You can find images, video, and more from the conference available in the newly created forum, and you can also purchase the DVD's of the keynote speeches on the website here.

Keep an eye on the forums and website over there as they will serve as a sort of hub for the video material that is continually popping up from the conference.

You do have a point,

You do have a point, benthere. Obviously the dvd isn't going to be ridiculously 'copy-protected' or something, so it is a given that this content is going to end up on the Web. By my understanding, 911truth.og are asking people to wait until oct 2006 before making it public domain - a mere 3.5 months! It seems to me at least they are trying to strike a balance... Think of it as a way to make a small donation - there are alot more expenses then just the last conference - consider the Zogby polls, and how about the NEXT conference??

I don't have a problem with

I don't have a problem with giving $40 to an organization that just spent $6000.00 on a Zogby poll, and pays the monthly salary of one of its' members just so they can devote their time to organizing things like the Chicago Conference.

Unfortunately folks, money is what makes the world go 'round. Without it, we don't stand a chance in hell.

Loose Change 2 is on google video and still sells. (I bought some.) Does it sell more because it is out there in a big way?

These videos would be great clipped up on youtube.com with the better quality available for sale and donation.

Let us think bigger.

I'm fine with making a

I'm fine with making a donation to 911truth.org or the various speakers. In fact it's not really me I'm concerned with.

All I'm saying is that far fewer people will see it (at least for the next 3 months) than would have otherwise. It might make just as much noise when it hits the web in 3 months, so I could be totally wrong.

w00t!

Fork it up... $40 for the complete set.

Is there going to be a free

Is there going to be a free version of Dr Jones' speech? Funds are low at the moment and as good as Alex Jones' speech was, Steven Jones' speech is the one I really wanted to see.

Also, does anyone else have

Also, does anyone else have an issue with 911truth.org banning cameras at the venue so that they could make people pay waaaay too much for the DVDs?

If they paid for the event I guess this might be justifiable, although I figured the entrance fees would have taken care of that.

It basically means far less

It basically means far less spreading of the truth. For a movement that basically started on the web, it doesn't seem to make sense to have primary distribution be DVDs. In my humble opinion of course.

Absolutely. No doubt about it.

money might make the world

"money might make the world

"money might make the world go round but passing out dvd make the 911 truth movement grow..."

Ok, so let's let 911Truth.org go under. That makes complete and total sense.

We don't need a centralized, representative group. We need to be unorganized, with 1000 different messages.

It works so well for groups like the GOP. Oh wait, they're completely organized, and have a focused message, and they control the world.

Yea, it makes complete and total sense.

In case you haven't noticed,

In case you haven't noticed, 911Truth.org has received 15k in donations 6 months into this year. They're on a pace to get $30k in donations.

$30k in donations, for this cause, is laughable.

Thanks Jon. The $6000 for

Thanks Jon. The $6000 for the Zogby poll was small compared to the cost of putting on this conference. The cost of the hotel/conference center alone numbered in the multiple ten's of thousands of dollars. If you don't think this is true, call a comparable facility and inquire as to the cost of a weekend party. You may be a bit sticker shocked.

Bids for Audio/Video were in between $15-25,000, and although we did the job on rented equipment with a volunteer A/V staff, the cost was still significant.

Then of course, you have the expenses of the main attractions, the key note speakers. 911truth.org paid all the travel and lodging costs of all of the key note speakers. You can do the math here and get a pretty good estimate. Keep in mind that one of the key note speakers came from the UK and another one demanded two rooms at the hotel and first class airfare to come to the conference.

All of this, together with many other necessary and miscellaneous expenses required to pull off this conference, add's up to be quite a staggering figure, which by the way, is a figure that the board of 911truth.org assumed responsibility for.

As far as the assertion that the registration fee's should have paid for this conference, this is simply not accurate. We intentionally kept registration fee's low. We also offered senior and student discounts, which, strangely enough, accounted for the large majority of registrations sold. During the madness of it all, we also discovered that many simply attended without registering at all. If we had relied soley on monies from registrations to pay for this conference, we would have found ourselves whoefully in the red after this conference. Obviously, we would not be able to continue our efforts if we made a habit out of that.

The media policy adopted by the full steering committee prior to this conference was an attempt to strike a fair balance between the paramount objective of getting information out, and the need to effectively fund such a conference and insure that we can continue to bring these events to the public. After 4 months have passed, these keynotes will become public domain and widely available to anyone who wants to post anywhere. This 4 months allows us to sell the video which will help to offset the costs of bringing this conference to the public. Keep in mind that ALL of the presenters, save the 4 key note speeches, were open to anyone who wanted to film. These presentations are already starting to appear across the net.

To the nay-sayers out there who would critisize this policy, I would simply ask the question, How would you fund such a conference? And, if you are so good at fund raising, why haven't we heard from you offering to help?

THEY don't want us to have

THEY don't want us to have money. Think about that.

not letting people burn and

Good.

50$ for the a three day

50$ for the a three day conference was an incredibly fair price and obviousely did not even come close to covering the costs. So I believe they have struck a decent balance, between allowing video of the key note adresses and the regular conferences.

There were no earth shattering new developments in the key note speeches that are not available in many other sources.

Keep up the good work, and thank you for a wonderful conference. You are one very crucial part of this large and diverse truth movement.
if we remain civil and intelligent in our critiques, it only makes us stronger, more honest, and less likely to be infiltrated and manipulated.

"There were no earth

"There were no earth shattering new developments in the key note speeches that are not available in many other sources."

Exactly. It's not like you don't know about Professor Jones' latest findings regarding thermite.

God forbid 911Truth.org should expect some help in paying for the conference.

I wish I had never posted on

I wish I had never posted on this sensitive topic. To be honest, I had no idea that the conference was such a large expense. You guys went all out. I followed it closely as it was happening but still don't have a very good feel for what all went on there.

Charging for the spread of truth is such a difficult issue. It spreads the most if you release immediately after an event and give it away. But you need to recoup your financial investment somehow. Do you sell more DVDs without it being on the web, or do you sell more with tens of thousands of people watching it online every month and telling their friends?

Spreading the truth conflicts with charging for information. I don't know the answer. I don't disagree with anything that's been done.

Anyone who organizes such an

Anyone who organizes such an event should offer the venue and the resulting media to everyone else, entirely at their own expense. No one should ever make any money from anything. You can live in a cave, eat berries, and use a bicycle generator to run the DVD copier. This is the most effective and only true engine for 9/11 truth and social change.

One woman during a smoke break at the conference actually asked me, "Why are they charging only $50 for this whole program? This is the cheapest conference I've ever heard of." I kissed her.*

You gotta laugh.

(* I wasn't involved in organizing this one but in the course of my previous organizing experiences have heard enough such bitter nonsense about why-should-anything-ever-cost-anything, from people who never organize anything...)

just a random thought, but

just a random thought, but meeting at ground zero on 9/11 is going to have almost no effect on the media in my opinion.if you think about it, its NYC, there is always a shitload of people everywhere. i think it would be smarter to organize a mass demonstration in Washington personally. or even some other city that wouldnt overshadow it like NYC would.maybe Shanksville.the media would be forced to cover that.call me cynical, but i think the media will ignore us in New York.we should storm Washington DC.just a random thought.

I was part of the planning

I was part of the planning for this conference in the beginning stages. If I remember correctly, I was even in on the conversation that named it. We got together on a conference call every week to discuss Chicago, etc... Sometimes, the phone calls would take hours.

Ultimately, I really had nothing to do with it, but I remember thinking how much a of a pain in the ass it was to give up the time needed to plan for it.

The people who gave the last 4 months of their life for the planning of this event deserve a HUGE pat on the back.

Remember folks... every one of those people did this for FREE. They did it because they love this country, and because they don't like the direction it's going in, and they KNOW that murdering 3000 of our own is wrong.

As a result, we have some of the best momentum we've ever had.

It wouldn't kill you to fork up $10, $20, or even $40 so that we can build on this momentum.

That certainly depends on

That certainly depends on the individual's circumstances.

Absolutely. NO ONE expects

Absolutely. NO ONE expects everyone to fork up the money. That, in and of itself, is the problem with charging money for anything. Those who can't afford it, unfortunately, can't see what they had to say. The trick is, to get those who CAN afford it, to share it with as many people as possible, etc...
