The former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense under the Reagan Administration and a highly decorated Vietnam veteran and Colonel has gone on the record to voice his doubts about the official story of 9/11 - calling it "the dog that doesn't hunt."
Col. Ronald D. Ray joined Alex Jones for an hour long interview in which he gave his views on a wide array of subjects, including the war on terror, porous borders and the Bush administration.
Ray questioned the feasbility of having a budget of half a trillion dollars a year yet not even being able to defend the Pentagon.
"Half a trillion dollars a year and a bunch of guys over in a cave in Afghanistan were able to penetrate that half a trillion dollar network that's supposed to provide Americans with national security."

Someone theorized that if you were a hijacker with poor flying skills, why would you fly all the way out of Boston to hit NYC targets, when there are numerous airports in & around NYC.
IÂ’ll take this one step further:
If you wish to hijack planes to hit targets in NYC & Washington, D.C., why hijack ones on their way to California? Then you need to turn around, fly way off course, shut off transponders, etc., bringing a great deal of attention to yourself & hugely increasing the risk of failure, interception, etc.!
Why not just hijack planes whose destinations are NYC & D.C. to hit targets in those cities??? Such planes normally fly near the WTC, Pentagon, White House, etc. You just let the original pilots bring the airliner within 20 miles of these targets, and then make your move, and no one would be the wiser until it was far too late to do anything about it!
You wouldnÂ’t have to worry about hijacking planes hundreds of miles away from their targets, taking them way off course, flying them there yourselves, risking a mutiny (UA93) or a shoot-down; shutting off transponders, etc. All that tremendous increase in risk for some extra fuel? They could have just hijacked jumbo jets (bigger planes than B-757s) on their way to NY & DC!
IMO, the above is yet another huge smoking gun!!! Spread it around if you see fit.

The guy behind 911 Curious posted here a month or so ago to mention that he was in the process of creating it. He wanted to make a super newbie-friendly site that you could send your grandpa to. He also mentioned he was going to go heavy on the "Americana" iconography for similar reasons -- just to make it extremely non-threatening for people who are just starting to ask questions. I don't recall his name, but he sounded sincere.

Anyways, the guy that they interview at 39:50 says that it was around 8 or 8:15 when he first heard that a plane hit a tower in new york. Since AA 11 didn't hit until 8:46, his time frame is already way off. If the government has the intention of indentifying those who question the official 911 account, they have a lot of means to do so. We can't let paranoia get the best of us. His section "What are the questions?" is a nice little summary that is minimally offensive to to the mainstream crowd. I've been thinking a lot lately about how to present this information to different audiences and I think that summary will be useful.

According to the blogger, Free Republic, Hugh Hewitt, World Net Daily, and Pajamas Media have all suffered at least a 19 percent decline, while the traffic at Raw Story, Crooks and Liars, and Think Progress has risen.

I posted the Col. Ray story in two locations at the web site where I hang out and the only comment was from another "truther". Everyone else seems to be ignoring it. I am dumfounded. The American people are in a state of psychosis or alternate reality. I don't know what to do anymore. There has been an active thread there on 9/11 that I started in March (re-activated, really) when the movie 911Eyewitness came out that has run continously since then. Virtually every major story, film, podcast, etc has been posted there. There are 127 "pages", and over 2,000 posts. But nobody wants to look; nobody wants to read; nobody wants to see. Indeed. Sad but true. I wish I could make an argument otherwise, but I couldn't agree more. There are definitely some out there who are working their asses off to expose the bastards, but there are just ENDLESS HORDES who couldn't care less, and have no idea what's going on. However, I think many more people would care if they weren't slaving away each and every day just to keep the lights on. Wish I could offer more hope, but after visiting with my friend at NORAD, I'd be leading y'all astray. I read all the concerns about no one paying attention. It's true. Many people seem to know but it's overwhelming and most don't seem to know what to do. There must be some idea that can move mountains that everyone can participate in.
About Siegel and Sept 11 demonstrations. Aren't you just competing for coverage that day because of all the "official" events? Dont we just become a footnote? The Summer of Truth slogan was very effective. People want to help and they are, in small ways. But something big, national and attention grabbing should be planned nationwide.

However, I must either conclude they're now under some extra-ordinary pressure to follow some "line", or just as baffled as many other well-meaning people out here.
Maybe like Fisk, Djar, Goodman and a slew of others, the info they must be flooded in (and having sent to them), could just be "overwhelming."

oh yeah, i think his new book is great, and he does a lot of great work, but in the first part of his book he makes sure to point out how he feels Bush didnt know about 9/11 in advance(which is almost irrelevant in some ways) and that it was indeed Bin Laden in the confession video. very dissapointing coming from a guy like that.

If you look at the back of a one dollar bill, at the pyramid with the all seeing eye. Turn the bill upside down and draw another pyramid of the exact same size, over top of the other one. Makeing a perfect 6 point star.
Now look at the five letters the corners of the star point to. It should be M.A.S.O.N.

i talked to Greg Palast's secretary a few months back and was badgering her about his views on 9/11. she came back with a truly annoying response when she said "Greg has the same views on 9/11 as Chomsky.he feels it was blowback". ugh. gimme a break.

Greg doesn't talk about 9/11 because he believes it was bin Laden, just like Robert Fisk, Noam Chomsky and others do.
The trouble is he gets called an asshole when he does and the discussion never ends.
He genuinely does not believe it was an inside job.
That's not to say that there aren't a lot of lies and unanswered questions flying around.
Greg believes from evidence he uncovered that the lies etc. stem from the Administration's monumental screw-ups and CIA-FBI petty infighting (see Bush-Bin Laden BBC Newsnight).

Just like "Al Quada, Zionism, PNAC, fiat dollars, CFR.... list list goes on.
I try to offer people to: Think about what a Confluence of Interest would mean to all these different groups. They ALL get to head in the same general direction, while diffusing 'blame' for any one single group to a near laughable level.
This really helps me accept Alex's level of rage (putting together a bigger puzzle), instead of being put off by his fire and brimstone which "sane" people so often do.

To refine my interpretation of "things".... Think about how fractures and divisions erupt constantly in the "Truth" movement. Many people think elements, evidence, and very persuasive and plausible interpretation DEMAND Mutual Exclusivity between such elements. "Can't BOTH be LIHOP AND MYHOP!" Fracture, divide... new fight.
So many far-isolated components I've encounter, do not demand that I "choose" (for sake of mutual exclusivity) between Robert Fisk, Alex Jones, or even Esoteric Chompski... (Hannity is still a flaccid dick, for openly demanding MutExclut. Bush for that matter too.)
Many many element fit better this way. Besides, the scientific method DEMANDS that all valid proofs, no mater how far estranged.... MUST conform to the final hypothesis, for bed-rock Theories to ultimately unify.
Just talking out-loud..... hopefully, some misguided flunky at the NSA IS spying on us...... might just re-educate themselves anyway. One can always hope, can't I?

Pockybot is right about left/right--the "left" and the "right" that is, that have been created by the corporate media for consumption by the masses. Palast and Chomsky--obvious gatekeepers--though I give Chomsky the benefit of the doubt since he's so old--he's probably just confused--Palast obviously knows better. If you want to know what we should not let happen to the 9-11 truth movement, just look at the Democratic Party. Look at how Hillary and Lieberman try to urge "moderation" and how others pick up the thread. Look at how Kerry was selected because Dean was just too strident. Then again, look at Dean acting like the maverick while upholding just about every idiotic policy of the status quo, up to and including "strong support of our close ally with shared values, Israel". It is all part of the dog and pony show that tries to keep us all in line. You can always tell actors because they overact. They will throw in lots of clever jabs at right wing straw men like Sean Hannity, to bone up their anti-fascist credentials. Then they'll urge unity and moderation--seen it, been tehre, done that, did NOT buy the tshirt, though.
