I'm sure some of you are sick of hearing about Daily Kos, but he recently posted a blog about the disbanding of Alec Station titled "CIA shuts down office hunting down Osama bin Laden". How obvious does it need to be for these people? Here's my comment:

This should come as no suprise, considering FBI Director Robert Mueller's statement on April 19, 2002, that, in their investigation, the FBI had "not uncovered a single piece of paper, either here in the U.S. or in the treasure trove of information that has turned up in Afghanistan and elsewhere, that mentioned any aspect of the September 11th plot", and Chief of Investigative Publicity for the FBI Rex Tomb's June 5, 2006 statement that "the FBI has no hard evidence connecting bin Laden to 9/11." Tomb explained that "[t]he FBI gathers evidence. Once evidence is gathered, it is turned over to the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice then decides whether it has enough evidence to present to a federal grand jury. ... He has not been formally indicted and charged in connection with 9/11 because the FBI has no hard evidence connected to bin Laden." Apparently, the FBI does not consider the videotape released by the State Department on December 13, 2001, described by Bush as bin Laden's "declaration of guilt", as "hard evidence". This should also come as no suprise, considering the on-going dispute over the tape's authenticity. The State Department claims the tape was found in a house in Jalalabad and turned over to the Pentagon by "an unnamed person or group". As early as December 15, however, the State Department was under pressure in publications such as The Guardian for not disclosing more details about the tape. If authentic, it would be the only videotape of Osama bin Laden not acquired by U.S. intelligence through Al-Jazeera. It would also conflict with his statements in a September 28, 2001 interview with The Daily Ummat, that he was "not involved in the September 11 attacks in the United States" and that he "had no knowledge of these attacks." On December 20, 2001, the translation of the tape was called into question by two translators, Dr. Abdel El M. Husseini and Dr. Murad Alami, who said it was not only inaccurate, but "manipulative". Gernot Rotter, professor of Islamic and Arabic Studies at the University of Hamburg, stated that "[t]he American translators who listened to the tapes and transcribed them apparently wrote a lot of things that they wanted to hear, but cannot be heard on the tape no matter how many times you listen to it." The German television program "The Monitor" came to the conclusion that, correctly translated, there was no evidence in the videotape which would suggest that bin Laden had been aware of the attacks before they were carried out. Now, I know that, in the past, Kos has banned people for "perpetuating" what he calls "bizarre, off-the-wall, unsupported and frankly embarrassing conspiracy theories", so I'd like to point out that I've not theorized at all here, just repeated well-documented facts that, unfortunately, show that the belief that Osama bin Laden was somehow involved in the attacks of September 11th is "unsupported" by both the CIA and the FBI.

Listening to James Fetzer´s RBN show now.

Unfortunately he goes into a big love fest for Al Gore... more left/right trap which will automatically cause half his listeners to tune out. He also baits the crowd who believes the environmental movement is all about population recuduction. He gets into a spat with his guest about who's show it is and who can ask who to shut up. Not good, I think Fetzer maybe is under too much stress.

Doug: Rep. Walter Jones of North Carolina might be a possibility for your list. Recently on C Span he mentioned words to the effect that the Republican Party was leaving him. At any rate, he is a good prospect for 9/11 truth communication if he is not already in our camp.

Having the Republican party leave him and jumping to 911 truth is a pretty big leap but I'll look for any hints if he's leaning that way. Im sure dz or sbg will be all over it if he did.

Remember Reagan's Asst Secretary of Defense now doubts 9/11.

Oh and that is HILLARIOUS the US government has a site trying to 'attack conspiracy theories'.

Danny Schechter's "Weapons of Mass Deception" is great -- I just watched it today. It's primarily about the Iraq War with only an oblique 9/11 reference, but it just makes the case in excruciating detail that we are being completely fucked by the American media. Schechter is himself an experienced journalist as well as media critic -- I think he'd have cred with a lot of people who have yet to don the tinfoil hat.
They have it at Amazon and Netflix; I found it at my local alt. video store. You can also get it direct from his site: www.wmdthefilm.com.

Kevin, I would go on, but this questionaire is just too well written to be believed. I loved your attack on the Governor. We've had three of four in a row just like him here in Arkansas. I hate to admit it, but I was Bill Clinton's very first political supporter, until he had me chair his "Governor's Council on Youth and Drugs," 1972. As a Senior, I was called on to present the findings to the Arkansas Senate. My job was to collect data from all ten of the designated area leadership councils. We interviewed about 2,400 school kids. Age was not important, but accurate 'polling' was stressed. By my having to compile this into several areas of so-called "interdiction concerns," I quickly realized that I would have to save the best comment-groups for last.
