Governor Doyle's Board of Regents get their way on anti-American lecturer.

GREEN BAY - University of Wisconsin-Madison lecturer Kevin Barrett - who has said he believes that the government used "controlled demolitions with explosives" on September 11 to bring down the World Trade Center buildings and that Karl Rove was involved in the death of a U.S. Senator - will be allowed to continue to present his theories in a university classroom, according to UW Provost Patrick Farrell. Farrell announced today that Barrett would be allowed to teach his class this Fall Semester at the UW, saying that his outlandish ideas on September 11 will "take a small, but significant, role in the class."

In response to Farrell's decision, gubernatorial candidate Mark Green issued the following statement Monday:

"I am a proud graduate of two UW schools. The UW system means so much to me, which is why I am so deeply troubled by today's decision.

"As I have already said, not a dime of either taxpayer or tuition dollars should be going to facilitate Mr. Barrett telling students that the September 11th attacks were a creation of the U.S. government. Mr. Barrett can dwell all he wants on the fringe left of society, but he should not be doing it under the banner of the University of Wisconsin.

"This should have been an easy call for UW officials, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised by their decision. When Jim Doyle's hand-picked Board of Regents president has repeatedly said that he thinks it is okay for Mr. Barrett to teach his clearly untrue conspiracy theories in a university classroom, this is the outcome we should have expected.

"Under Jim Doyle's stewardship, we have seen sex offender professors receive UW paychecks, outrageous back-up jobs for housekeepers and a 50 percent tuition increase for Wisconsin families at the very same time tuition for out-of-state students was reduced. Mr. Barrett is the latest bit of evidence showing the need to replace Jim Doyle and bring reform to the UW System.

"Teaching students lies is not a Wisconsin value. Elect me governor, and we will inject a heavy dose of Wisconsin values into the University of Wisconsin system."

because most of the people on this board feel that Flight 77 hit the Pentagon. not me.

also some people dont agree with his political point of view, so they dont like that about him. personally, i mesh pretty well with his political beliefs, so i dont mind when he talks politics.

I have no doubt Barret will KICK Ass. He won't be going into any fantastical claims that are debunked, but I am hoping will deliver a sharp two pronged non stop power point. Alex Jones so far is the only invincable interviewee Ive seen when it comes to 9/11 on mainstream news outlets.

No, I think it was basically this: The Fox producers screwed up on "Hannity and Colmes", which made them look like idiots right off the bat. And Fetzer did really well too. Maybe the short time frame kept him focused. Then a week later on Alan Colmes show, Colmes was all cool and collective, while Fetzer ranted 100 mph over a cliff, sounding like a loon, telling victim's relatives that they were stupid.

I would venture a guess that the Governor, et. all have now received around 75% more e'mails than they are used to reading. Collectively, this must shift their response, certainly drawing undue attention to Mark Green's idiotic position. He needs to be *singled-out,* because any 'defense' coming from him and party will ALSO creat a wave of National, not just local back-lash.

Alex Jones made more important comments in 2 minutes on that bullshit CNN Showbiz show than most "political commentators" make in a year. that was the most amazing and informative 2 minutes that has ever been aired on national television.too bad it wasnt the REAL CNN.

Fetzer did not perform well on the Alan Colmes show. I was frankly very upset and disappointed with that performance. I think anyone who listened and was not already a 9/11 truther would have been turned off by 9/11 truth altogether. Jim knows he didn't do well and has reflected on that performance.

BUT that show is only heard by a small group of listeners.

And Jim was fantastic on Hannity & Colmes, at the L.A. Conference, in Loose Change, and in many, many other performances.

Its all about numbers. Let's talk sports, folks. He puts up the big numbers in the play-offs. If he miffed one of the unimportant games, its not as important.

i agree GW, he came off as a bit too angry on Colmes show which gets about 3000 listeners a day.(im probably being generous),but he still got some good points across and he KILLED on Hannity and COlmes. and the fact that he got a dig in on Oliver North is friggin classic. that was beautiful to see Fetzer say something like "you know how these things work Ollie".fucking criminal.it was worth it for that comment alone.

just the opposite. its a bunch of psuedo fascists that want the New York TImes reporters jailed for daring to report on this administrations illegal tactics in the "war on terror". basically a bunch of ignorant, flag waving, knuckle dragging fascists.

I called Rob Vernon and told him I've read these books and there's nothing wrong with them. I also told him I'd make Ommission's and Distortion's a mandatory read. I told him this was just an opinion from Iowa. He said thanks for calling.

I (try to) connect the missing dots as well as those which are present.

For someone with the access, knowledge, and position of Kevin, I haven't noticed him continually making it abundantly clear how impossibly silly/stupid it is for people to still be blaming "Muslim hijackers" for 9/11. (And we all know by now that it is possible, and can be a powerful tactic, to lie by omission...)

OTOH, by having someone within the 9/11 truth movement focusing in other ways on Islam, we are hurting the cause: as long as casual observers see that BushCo blames Muslims, and 911 truthers are talking about Muslims without avidly denouncing the Muslim-blaming aspect of The Big Lie, they will sense that 9/11 was about (an attack by) Muslims, and so they will never feel any need to investigate further -- after all, if "both" sides think that 9/11 was a Muslim attack, and/or neither side loudly decries the blaming of 9/11 on Muslims, then the official version of events must be true, right?

This is an example of how the "911 truth movement" can, even without realizing it, act in a fake-opposition manner (by not acting/speaking at all!), much the same way Dems fake-oppose Reps (and so followers of the political scene, who assume that Dems would not let Reps get away with anything major, feel OK in believing that 9/11 must have been what Bush said it was, else Dems would have stood up and said something long ago...).

Stand up and speak out more/better, Kevin!
