Major Escalation of War in Middle East

This is not 9/11-related, but you should know that war has started between Israel and Lebanon.

Let's redouble our efforts to spread 9/11 truth. Revealing the secret history of false flag operations is the one thing which has the power to stop an escalation in madness in the U.S. and abroad. See this article for one possible analysis of what is happening.

Israel Graduates from Killing Gazans to Lebanese

Now that Hezbollah has “abducted” two Israeli soldiers in Lebanon, we can expect a “wider Mideast military confrontation,” according to Bloomberg. Ehud Olmert holds “Lebanon responsible for the fate of the missing soldiers,” who were captured near Aita al-Shaab on the Lebanese side of the border, that is to say the soldiers violated the sovereignty of Lebanon, a common occurrence.

“Israeli ground forces also crossed into Lebanon to hunt for the missing soldiers, Israeli Army Radio said,” reports Reuters, and then offers an excuse, per usual: “Israeli troops have not struck deep into Lebanon since they withdrew from a southern border strip in 2000 after Hizbollah’s Shi’ite fighters waged an 18-year war of attrition against them,” in other words they resisted the illegal occupation of the southern part of their country, as they now resist the illegal occupation of the Shebaa Farms area and continual Israeli border provocations (and violations of Lebanese airspace by Israeli fighter jets). No mention of this by Reuters or Bloomberg.

Like the civilians of Gaza, the civilians of Lebanon will be required to pay for Hezbollah capturing prisoners of war.

man...this is a little heavy

man...this is a little heavy for me right now.

I've been reading some news articles in random papers through google news, and in many of them the experts are saying that the only way to stop this escalation is for the US to step in. Unfortunately, it looks like this is exactly what the neo-cons want to happen.

I hope a few of the Euro countries can get together to do something. But they've pretty reluctant to get involved in the recent Israel/Palestine fight, so I don't know.

forward to the battle of

forward to the battle of armageddon :(

I suspect Big Bush is now

I suspect Big Bush is now getting instructions from Big Cheney on how to handle all of this. And I suspect closeted Karl Rove is prepping Bush for his public speech on this new fiasco.

I wonder just how this Middle East war is going to directly affect us "over here" while they are fighting "over there".

Considering Iran supports

Considering Iran supports one of the largest REAL "Terrorist" organizations in the world... we shall soon seen.

Hezbollah is nothing

Hezbollah is nothing compared to the US funded military of Israel. they are the real terrorists.(not that i support Hezbollah,i dont)

Was it Hezbollah that Ray

Was it Hezbollah that Ray McGovern was talking about on Alex Jones? I don't remember... I just remember him mentioning it.

CNN just said the

CNN just said the administration is talking to Elliot Abhrams to see what the U.S. should do in regards to the conflict.that should tell you all you need to know right there.

so if Israel has this

so if Israel has this "inside info" and "concrete evidence" on the soldiers going to Iran, that must mean Israel KNOWS WHERE THEY ARE and are refraining from doing anything to retrieve them.

Lebanon : At least 52

Lebanon : At least 52 civilians killed in Israeli attacks: Israel

http://www.dailystar.com.lb/article.asp?edition_id=1&categ_id=2&article_...

It doesn't make much sense to describe Hezbollah as a terrorist organization unless we are willing to describe the IDF in the same terms -- or worse. In fact, whereas Israel has policies that are pretty obviously directed at the civilian populations of their neighbors (destroying olive trees, demolishig homes, directing sniper fire at children, using children as human shields) Hezbollah has primarily attacked Israeli military targets. They are a symbol of honor in the Arab world for having driven Israel out of Southern Lebanon.

Indeed, they wouldn't exist if not for Israeli aggression, nor would Hamas.

I realize Chomsky isn't well-liked on this site but he has some great stuff on the definition of terrorism and the use of language to categorize enemies of the US. For instance:

"One can imagine why the story might have some resonance in Beirut. Perhaps the Lebanese have not consigned to oblivion the most horrendous car bombing in Beirut, in 1985, a huge explosion killing 80 people and wounding 200, mostly women and girls leaving the mosque exit where the bomb was placed. The attack, aimed at a Muslim cleric who escaped, was traced to the CIA and Saudi intelligence, apparently operating with British help..."

"The official US definition [of terrorism]...is unusable, and the reason is when you use that definition it turns out not surprisingly that the US is one of the leading terrorist states. And other states become terrorist or none terrorist depending on how they are relating to US goals."

"He added "So for example Iraq was a terrorist state up until 1982. In 1982 it was removed from the list of terrorist states and the reason was that the Reagan administration wanted to provide Saddam Hussein with aid: means all equipments of mass destruction, weapons, and so on and therefore it was removed from the list of terrorist states. It was no longer a terrorist state. And the same goes for Syria. Syria has been on the terrorist list for a long time. But in 1994, I think it was that Clinton offered to remove Syria from the list of terrorist states if it agreed to US-Israeli proposals for the settlement of Golan Heights issue. Well Syria wanted to get its territory back so it stayed on the list of terrorist states."

That was my take on this. Seemed the US was testing the waters regarding invading Iran...there was a quiet period...now they are looking at taking another route so that they do not look like the instigators. Although I really do think Israel is intentionally trying to suck the US in for their own benefit as well.

I noticed that the Israeli said they would bomb Lebanon 20 years back in time.
Based on my experience as UN soldier in Lebanon, they wont have any difficulties with that, if thats their main intention. Sounds like a waste of ammo bombing a stone into many small pieces...

I just hope my lebanese friends are safe and ok.
By the way, its a shame Norway left the mission down there :(
Not that I think it would prevented this, but anyway.

Interesting... A report in

Interesting...

A report in the Jerusalem Post today proves very revealing. It claims that, ‘Only weeks ago, an entire reserve division was drafted in order to train for an operation such as the one the IDF is planning in response to Wednesday morning's Hizbollah attacks on IDF forces along the northern border.’[1]

The news is revealing because it was only a little over two weeks ago that Cpl. Gilad Shalit was captured by Palestinian fighters. One needs to ask how the Israelis knew at, or even before, he was captured that it would be taking action against Hizbollah in Lebanon.

This revealing piece of news comes on top of an earlier revelation that the Israelis had planned the arrest of top Palestinian Hamas leaders some time well before Shalit was captured as Ha’aretz reported: “The detention of Hamas parliamentarians in the early hours of Thursday morning had been planned several weeks ago and received approval from Mazuz on Wednesday. The same day, Shin Bet Director Yuval Diskin presented Prime Minister Ehud Olmert with the list of Hamas officials slated for detention.” [2]

This entire crisis has all the hallmarks and is beginning to unravel as a carefully orchestrated ploy to create a casus belli for Israel to attack and occupy the Gaza, neutralise Hamas, the democratically elected government of the Palestinians to deprive the Palestinians of any power to resist reoccupation of the Gaza, possibly on a permanent basis, and, at the same time, to neutralise Hizbollah in pursuit of regime change in Lebanon.

Since the Israelis are now also making noises about Syrian and even Iranian involvement in the Hizbollah actions against Israel that has prompted IsraelÂ’s attacks against Lebanon, there are indications that these noises are intended to foment US involvement in attacking Syria and Iran on Israels behalf.

If, indeed, this crisis has been orchestrated to deliberately provoke two Arab organisations to the north and south of Israel to attack Israel in an attempt to gain US involvement then the Israelis are playing an extremely dangerous gameÂ… unless, of course, the Israelis have already colluded with the US.

Amen.

the U.N security council

the U.N security council tried to pass a resolution condeming Israels actions in Gaza in recent weeks. guess who opposed it?

"Has Israel just gone

"Has Israel just gone beserk?"

Indeed it has. For the past several months Israel has been trying desperately to get her neighbors to attack her in the hopes of escalating the conflict and drawing in Iran. She may have finally succeeded. Already there are reports that the Iranian PM is conferencing with the leader of Syria. Amerika is blaming the latest "kidnappings" on an "Iranian-Syrian axis". the actions by (allegedly) Hezbollah may could also be your standard causus belli orchestrated by the Mossad. Either way, the Zionazis have no justification whatsoever for attacking Lebanon. Their government is in no way responsible for the actions of Hezbollah, nor do they have any semblance of control over the organization. If a couple of minute-men were kidnapped by a powerful Mexican gang would that justify bombing Mexico City? It's outrageous. Israel may have just begun WWIII> :(

it should also be noted that

it should also be noted that Hezbollah has yet to claim responsibilty for the rocket attacks. Hezbollah has NEVER had a problem quickly taking responsibility for its various attacks.i smell false flag, until Hezbollah actually takes responsibility.

Seems to me as soon as Ehud

Seems to me as soon as Ehud Olmert took over, things got worse than they were under Sharon. More research needs to be done on this because it seems - seems - likely that this is a false flag op by the Isrealis to justify the expansion of Israel and the expulsion of the Palestinians, via war.

However, Robert Fisk, whom I respect but don't always agree with, thinks that Hezbollah captured these 2 soldiers in s. Lebanon at the behest of the Syrians as a "payback" for Syria being forced to withdraw from Lebanan.

But honestly, I don't see any benefit for Hezbollah, Syria, or Hamas in any of this. I do see benefit for the Likudniks, the settlers, the right-wingers/hardcore zionists. Fisk thinks these soldier captures were for the purpose of an eventual prisoner exchange, but considering who benefits most (including the US neo-cons - or Vulcans), I wonder whether patsies/dupes in the Hamas and Hezbollah took these Israeli soldiers at the behest of the Israeli government/Mossad.

Israel is either

Israel is either overreacting to the slightest provocation by the Muslim terrorist groups or they are even instigated these "kidnappings" themselves. This is all part of a last-ditch effort by the global elite to plunge the world into a global war before the 9/11 truth comes to light.

I too think that a false

I too think that a false flag is probable. As the above article states:

‘Only weeks ago, an entire reserve division was drafted in order to train for an operation such as the one the IDF is planning in response to Wednesday morning's Hizbollah attacks on IDF forces along the northern border.’[1]

At the same time, everyone has their breaking point. You can only stand there watching your little brother get punched in the face for so long before you give the bully a taste of his own medicine. It's certainly possible that the atrocious actions by Israel in Gaza have been met by retaliation, which, unfortunately, is exactly what Israel wanted.

Hmmmmm.... Hezbollah seeks

Hmmmmm....

Hezbollah seeks to transfer soldiers to Iran

Israel has concrete evidence that Hezbollah plans to transfer the two Israel Defense Forces soldiers abducted Wednesday to Iran, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev said Thursday.

"We have concrete evidence that Hezbollah plans to transfer the kidnapped soldiers to Iran. As a result, Israel views Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran as the main players in the axis of terror and hate that endangers not only Israel, but the entire world," AFP quoted Deputy Director General of the Foreign Ministry Gideon Meir as saying.

This is pretty good

This is pretty good regarding the WWIII theme.

Years from now, the kidnapping of Corporal Gilad Shalit will be regarded like the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. Against the backdrop of Kassam rocket fire on Israelis living within range of the Gaza Strip, it was the fate of Corporal Shalit that triggered the Israeli return to Gaza, which in turn brought the Hezbollah forces into the game.
...
Each one of these players — Hamas inside Gaza and in Damascus, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the Assad dictatorship in Syria — are chess pieces on the Iranian board. The pawn moves, drawing in the Israeli bishop; the Lebanese rook challenges; the Syrian queen is in reserve.

I just heard reporting on

I just heard reporting on NPR that stated Big Bush is publicly saying that Israel has every right to be doing the things its doing. Bush was saying the actions of terrorists give Israel the right to take up arms and defend itself.

The story also mentioned that the U.S. will be cracking down on Syria.

Sounds like the people here in this forum really have a handle as to what's going on.

Is all-out calamity in store for the Middle Eastern area?

I wonder if it's any

I wonder if it's any coincidence that this violence has escalated just as Iran has been referred to the UN security council? Perhaps as a way to persuade Russia & China to support action against Iran?

Howie Hawkins Calls for

Howie Hawkins Calls for United Nations to Enforce a Ceasefire and End
Israel's Military Occupation of Palestinian Territories

Howie Hawkins, the Green Party candidate for US Senate for New York, said today that the US government should use its leadership to effect an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East before it escalates into an all out war involving multiple countries. He condemned the Bush administration's
unconditional support for Israel's military attacks in Gaza and Lebanon.

Hawkins said that an international peacekeeping force should be deployed to end the Israeli military occupation of Palestinian territories and its operations in Gaza and Lebanon and to stop attacks against Israel by Palestinian forces. The United States has been the principal country
blocking implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions 242 (1967) and 338 (1973), which require Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories.

"Ultimately, peace can only be achieved through negotiations between the Israeli and Palestinian leaderships. It can't be imposed by others. But peace cannot come under the oppression of a military occupation. The occupied territories have become little more than a prison camp for
Palestinian civilians and now Israel is depriving residents of access to their means of survival, including food, water, and electricity. The United States must unequivocally state that Israel cannot expect continued US military and economic aid so long as Israel's military occupation of the Palestinian territories continues. Palestinian people are being deprived of
the most elementary human rights, and are subjected to a never-ending process whose intended outcome appears to be their complete dispossession and expulsion from their homeland," noted Hawkins.

Hawkins said the US should also immediately recognize the democratically elected Palestinian government and restore funding.

Hawkins also condemned Hillary Clinton's unconditional support for Israel's policies. In a November 2005 visit to a section of separation wall being built around Jerusalem, Clinton said, "This is not against the Palestinian people. This is against the terrorists." In a December 11, 2005 speech at Yeshiva University, Hillary Clinton called Israel, "not only our ally; it is a beacon of what democracy can and should mean...If the people of the Middle East are not sure what democracy means, let them look to Israel."

Hawkins said, "States that confer rights based on religion, whether Jewish or Islamic, are inherently discriminatory and undemocratic. US support for Israel's policies of discrimination against native Muslim and Christian Palestinians, as well as its long-time covert support for Islamic fundamentalist movements as a counterweight to secular Arab nationalist movements, is one of the root causes of conflict and violence in the Middle
East."

"The current Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon come immediately after the Hamas and Fatah factions of the Palestinian leadership jointly put forth a peace proposal that implicitly recognized Israel, one of the alleged key demands of both the American and Israeli governments. This unfortunately repeats a familiar pattern of disruption of the peace process by the Israeli leadership at key moments," Hawkins added.

A former Marine who organized opposition to the Vietnam War, Hawkins is challenging incumbent Hillary Clinton's hawkish policies toward Israel/Palestine, Iraq, and Iran. Hawkins is running with a "Peace Slate" of Green Party candidates in New York, including Malachy McCourt for Governor, Alison Duncan for Lt. Governor, Rachel Treichler for Attorney General, and Julia Willebrand for Comptroller.

It just goes to show how
