The sounds in the movie are very perplexing.

When the guys show up at the WTC complex, there are a lot of sounds (and reactions on the parts of the characters) that suggest ominous, imminent structural failure. Pops that sound like bolts ("floor clips"?) giving way, enormous creaking, etc. There's also a scene in which the bullets in a gun explode due to fire and an allusion later to guns in the rubble, which I think is intended to counter witnesses who heard gunshot-like noises (or gunshots).

Also, it is suggested that the Mariott, and Buildings 4 and 5 (I think) are also at risk of complete collapse -- because, you know, the fire weakens the steel and they collapse straight down at freefall speed into their own footprints. That's just what buildings do.

FYI,

Dateline had the 2 police officers this based off of on their show a week ago..

they said that while they were pinned under the towers that they had assumed that all out war had broken out, because at some point they heard gunfire.. 'we were later told that was the sound of building 7 collapsing'..

i haven't gotten the transcript yet, but describing the sound of wtc7 collapsing as gunfire is quite interesting.

Never too late for the truth... !

Most people have never SEEN footage of WTC7collapsing.

For STONE to actual footage of the collapse in his film is HUGE!

Remember, the towers collapsed from the top down in a mushroom like fashion. This did not immediately register as controlled demolition in the minds of most people as typical CD's happen from the ground up.

WTC 7 is a ground up collapse. Couple that with the fact that most people are STILL unaware of its occurrence and I say we have much to be happy about with this new film.

All we need now is a coordinated effort on the day of release. 9/11 Truthers need to be out in force with more info on WHY WTC7 collapsed and WHY it's not even mentioned in the 9/11 Commission Report.

Better hurry - because Ayman al-Zawahri's video today - and the soon to be release Osama tape - and the escalating violence in the Middle East - have all the earmarks of a perfectly timed false flag operation to propel this war into all-out-insanity.

Oliver Stone is no idiot. I am pretty certain he does not buy the official story of 9/11. I have watched "JFK" a few times. I mean, the hypotheses presented in that film were much more far-fetched than what we believe (know) happened on 9/11.

I am pleased that the movie shows WTC 7 collapsing. Stone, if he were complicit with the official story, could have easily ignored this collapse in the movie. As someone said earlier, most people are ignorant to the fact that Building 7 collapsed that day.

I plan to attend this movie and I promise when they show Building 7 collapse I will yell at the top of my lungs "That was a controlled demolition!!!" :-)

LOS ANGELES, July 26 — Oliver Stone, that symbol of everything about Hollywood that conservatives love to hate, is getting help in marketing his newest movie from an unlikely ally: the publicity firm that helped devise the Swift boat campaign attacking John Kerry’s Vietnam record in the 2004 presidential race.
And so Mr. Stone, the director of the antiwar movies “Platoon” and “Born on the Fourth of July,” now finds himself sharing something in common with a group of Vietnam veterans who insisted that their comrades who demonstrated against the war were misguided, misled or traitorous.
Mr. Stone said that he knew nothing of the firm’s political work until he was contacted by a reporter on Wednesday. The director’s “World Trade Center,” a largely factual drama about the rescue of two police officers from ground zero after the 9/11 attacks, is to be released on Aug. 9 by Paramount Pictures. But it is already drawing rave reviews in some unlikely quarters.
L. Brent Bozell III, president of the conservative Media Research Center and founder of the Parents Television Council — best known for its campaigns against indecency on television and for stiffer penalties on broadcasters — called it “a masterpiece” and sent an e-mail message to 400,000 people saying, “Go see this film.”
Cal Thomas, the syndicated columnist, wrote last Thursday that it was “one of the greatest pro-American, pro-family, pro-faith, pro-male, flag-waving, God Bless America films you will ever see.”
(Mr. Stone, for his part, has insisted in the past that the film is “not a political movie,” while acknowledging in a recent interview that this “mantra” had been handed to him by his employers.)
To top it all off, a writer on The National Review’s Web site, Clifford D. May, actually wrote the words “God Bless Oliver Stone.”
This about a filmmaker whose conspiratorial tirades — not to mention his hyperviolent “Natural Born Killers,” polarizing political films “J. F. K.” and “Nixon,” and the lesser-known television documentary on Fidel Castro — have driven conservatives batty for decades. Only last year, The Washington Times, in an editorial, called the hiring of the “conspiracy-addled” Mr. Stone a “maliciously inspired choice” to direct “World Trade Center.”
Such glowing reviews for an Oliver Stone movie might have seemed blasphemous to many conservatives until recently, when Creative Response Concepts, on retainer for Paramount, began pitching “World Trade Center” to pundits who would not normally be considered part of Mr. Stone’s core audience.
A screening in Washington last week, for example, drew members of the Family Research Council, the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies and the evangelical Wilberforce Forum, along with a producer for William BennettÂ’s radio show, writers for The Washington Times and a reporter for the Web site of Human Events, which first reported the event. Creative Response Concepts has played a prominent role in promoting conservative causes. Heading into the 2005 Supreme Court nomination battles, it advised members of the Federalist Society on how to handle television interviews and was active in promoting the nominations of John G. Roberts Jr. and Samuel A. Alito Jr. When the AARP came out against President BushÂ’s plan to overhaul Social Security, the firm went to work for a conservative group that took on the AARP. And it promoted Newt GingrichÂ’s 1994 political strategy, Contract With America.
But it was in the 2004 campaign that Creative Response Concepts made its biggest mark on the political landscape, advising the group Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, which assailed Mr. KerryÂ’s Vietnam record as a Navy officer and as a leader of the antiwar movement after he returned home. Its well-funded attacks were among the most damaging blows to the Kerry campaign.
The firm also played a major role that year in assailing CBS — then a corporate sister of Paramount at Viacom — for the “60 Minutes” report on President Bush’s record in the Texas Air National Guard that led to Dan Rather’s resignation as anchor of the “CBS Evening News.”
Reached in Boston, Mr. Stone said he knew nothing of the public-relations firm’s background other than that it had helped to promote “The Chronicles of Narnia” last year for Walden Media and the Walt Disney Company. “Believe me, I didn’t cave,” he said. “They do it their way,” he said, referring to Paramount’s marketing executives.
Mr. Stone said that he condemned the “Swift-boating” of Mr. Kerry, but cautioned that he himself had “hired publicists in the past that had skeletons in their closet.” He added: “It’s not a holier-than-thou street here. It’s an impure market.”
In addition to Mr. BozellÂ’s two groups, clients of Creative Response Concepts have included the three national Republican campaign committees, the Christian Coalition, Manhattan Institute, Free Enterprise Foundation, National Taxpayers Union and Regnery Publishing, home to conservative authors like Tony Blankley and Michelle Malkin, who were also at last weekÂ’s screening.
But its clients also have included several Hollywood studios, according to the firmÂ’s Web site. Neither the firmÂ’s president, Greg Mueller, a former spokesman for Patrick J. Buchanan, nor Mike Thompson, an executive who arranged the screening, responded to several telephone messages.
Rob Moore, president of worldwide marketing, distribution and home entertainment for Paramount, said he would have hired the firm regardless of who had directed the movie, because of its strong elements of Christian faith and its depiction of men sacrificing themselves for one another: “the definition of patriotism,” he said.
In a telephone interview, Mr. Moore cited Creative Response Concepts’ connections in the evangelical and conservative movements, and its work promoting “Narnia.” “You need somebody who has credibility with those groups,” he said.
A Paramount spokesman said that the studio did not similarly pitch liberal groups in its multifront promotional campaign, reasoning that the entertainment press had covered that base. The spokesman said that Creative Response Concepts has also helped promote the 20th Century Fox movie “Because of Winn-Dixie” and the CW network’s show “Seventh Heaven.” It has already been hired to help promote “Charlotte’s Web,” which Paramount has scheduled for release in December.
As it happens, the strange bedfellows in this marketing relationship include Tom Freston, ViacomÂ’s chief executive, who with his wife Kathy contributed at least $14,000 to help Mr. KerryÂ’s campaign in 2004, federal records show. (All told, Viacom executives gave more than $69,000 to Mr. Kerry, far more than to Mr. Bush, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.)
But Mr. Moore said that marketing a movie is, after all, strictly business. “When we walk in that door and put our Paramount business cards in our pockets, our job is to get as many people as possible to come see a movie,” he said. “When we walk out the door, I could be leading rallies for John Kerry.”

Thanks for the report but I'm afraid you just wanted to see and hear something which is not in the movie. Moreover, american audience is certainly not up to the task of encoding some subtext message of artsy movie directors.

Any connection of this movie to 9/11 research will be ridiculed by the msm as desperate attempt to drag Stone into the debate.

These "fax copies" were provided to Terry McDermott (Official Story promoter) but the FBI flatly denied copies to Davidsson (Skeptic).

The point I'm trying to make is that we're there, and have been there for a while. We just have to keep pushing. Don't let up. If something happens, God forbid, then I think the time for "Activism" is over, and the time for "Revolution" takes its' place.

I was at the 7-11 the other day, and there were two soldiers there from the neighboring National Guard post. I asked one of them, "Do you think the Government lied to us about 9/11", and he said, "No." Then I asked, "If there was another attack, and Martial Law was implemented, would you and the other soldiers be able to follow orders against your own people?" He said, "Absolutely."

I think one of our roles has been to educate AS MANY people as possible so that when the time comes, we're ready, and aren't taken by surprise.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not taking Martial Law sitting down.

RE: the movie review.

I haven't seen it yet. It's interesting to hear the suggestion of subtly coming from Oliver Stone.

IF Stone doesn't buy the official story, the subtle approach could be the best. Since he's basing it on known information and public accounts, getting WTC 7 and the explosions in the film makes for a good back door.

I can't see any reason for him to include the elements that discount the official story if he DID support the official story.

If the film is widely received by the public, it could have a positive effect on people who might not otherwise have given WTC 7 or the numerous eyewitness accounts a second though.

Surely after the movie is released, and especially if it's a hit, it will generate a lot of discussions. If Stone was too overt in his presentation, it would turn the discussion into Michael Moore 2.0.

In short, maybe Stone knows the truth is on our side, and found a way to slide it under the closed doors of others' minds...

probably about 2 and a half years now.i didnt realize it at first,i feel like a fool, but i just didnt even question it.although at the time i wasnt exactly paying much attention to politics or anything like that.i was only 18 you know? but anyway, i got into politics maybe a year or so before i got into 9/11 truth,which in turn led me so far down the rabbit hole im never coming out.

This is so weird. I made a comment to my cousin a few months back regarding this movie. When I heard it wasn't going to go into any "conspiracies" I said to him, "Wouldn't it be great if Stone put in the movie the explosions that were heard." I figured there would be a good possibility because this movie is based on the 2 port authority eye/ear withness accounts. Can't wait to see this now.

I was curious if there was ever a top-down demolition, so I wrote to Controlled Demolition and asked them.

Here is what they said:

We presume you are asking about explosives demolition versus dismantling
or conventional demolition which always starts at the top and works
downward.

Explosives demolition, to the best of our knowledge and based on 60
years of experience, always starts at the bottom of a structure. Reason
for that, Brad, is that the explosives charges release the full weight
of the structure above, releasing the total amount of stored potential
energy in the entire structure. That also gets the entire structure
moving in the desired direction (either downward or possibly to one side
to avoid an adjacent property). If someone tried to start an implosion
at an upper elevation, there is too much risk that control of the debris
as it fell down on the structure below would be shifted in the direction
that you don't want it to go.

So the answer is, "no." All of CDI's implosions over the years and all
of those we are familiar with as performed by others start at the lowest
floor possible to release the greatest amount of potential energy

Why is it important if there has ever been a top down demo? The tower collapse was like a Hollywood special effect. They had to bring it down top first to create the illussion that the fire/damage caused the building to fail. I think it would be better to ask if it is possible to bring down a building top down.

To me, it simply sounds like they're saying that top-down demolition is not done because of the risk of damage to neighboring property. I think that statement implies that it is not physically impossible, just that it is prohibitively risky.

nice.. i woke up when bush got in office, a bit... i left my long term job 2 weeks after 911 and started working for myself so i had a lot of time to look into things... a few months after 911 a buddy of mine came by and told me 911 was an inside job and me and my wife would fight with him and call him crazy..(i still tell him im sorry about that) a few months later somethin clicked and i couldnt stop reading about 911.. my wife wanted to kill me because all i would talk about is 911 and she wasnt on board... i think there was a time that she thought i was a bit mad... i was 6 months to a year for me to get her to understand and to really take a close look...

one of the things that woke up my wife for some strange reason was seeing a pic in an art show of the plane about to hit the 2nd tower where you can see the "pod"... HAHAHA!!! that just goes to show that everyone is different and you never know what is going to wake someone up.... i think it was the pentagon and wtc7 that sealed the deal for me...

I had a feeling that Stone would do this, i.e. hide what truth he is able to inside a basically OV scenario. Any more and he would never have got it past the moguls and money men.

I had been told awhile ago that Oliver Stone's WTC would have little nods to the truth movement.

You know it's not propaganda when Alex Jones is saying he supports Oliver Stone and his movie. The fact he included WTC7 which the mainstream NEVER allows to be shown is very very telling.

The weekend that it comes out AND on and around 9/11 is when we need MAJOR acroos the country and continent massive flyering, dvd handouts, and other efforts.

Also, that Zwahiri video is wayyy too slick to be Islamic extremits. The picture on the left looks like those silly Bush/bin laden mashups, the pic on the right is of Mohammed Att...the double agent. WHERE are these videos coming from?

This review almost sounds too good to be true. I really hope it's accurate.

For what it's worth, I believe it was a hybrid implosion with basement explosions taking out structural integrity prior to the top-down detonations. The reason I'm saying this is because of the evidence of William Rodriques (sp?) testimony, blown out lobby footage, "911 Eyewitness" footage, and numerous testimonies of exposions prior to the collapses.

Just got home from a preview showing of WTC. Bitterly disappointed after reading the above review. A very pernicious example of catapulting the propaganda.

Guy on rubble pile: "Under this, this PANCAKE."

Mom of dead son at hospital: "When I saw it come down on tv, you know, PANCAKE."

I could go on and on. Unfortunately, when the studio rep asked me if I liked the movie, all I could say was "No." (His perky reply: "Good to know!")

So from what you you're saying... It sounds like Stone might have made the anti-anti-official-story movie anyway. The one people in the truth camp were accusing him of making. Darn it!

I'll need a critical thinking lobotomy to choke that line of crap down. This sucks, living among so many people who've embraced their received knowledge, and now show dangerous signs of taking such vested thoughts to heart, and then to their grave.

I wish someone in Hollywood would make a real movie about the way things really happened (from the truth movement point of view). It could start off inside WTC 7 showing the control room for the coming staged "terror" production. Then it could go to the "agents" under Marvin Bush's supervision, preping the towers with Thermate. Maybe show the Secret Service being briefed on letting the chimp sit in the classroom he was scheduled to be at because he wouldn't be in any real danger. It could also show Condoleezza rice calling Willie Brown and warning him not to fly on the 11th because she knew there would be too much aerial chaos that day. It could show CIA director Buzzy Krongard on the phone placing "put" options on American and United airlines in the weeks before 9-11.
Somebody needs to make a REAL movie for God's sake!!!!

I saw the film last night, and you got something terribly wrong in your review.

Those sounds the police keep hearing are not explosions, but of falling bodies hitting the ground.

If you watch the documentary shot by those French filmmakers, you'll hear the exact same sounds, which are indetified as such.

I think the Stone film is horrible. That the two cops survived is an incredible story, but to make a film of that day that only fuels pro-Christian / patriotic sentiment turned my stomach. To watch this film you wouldn't know that other people died that day.

I was within feet of the WTC when it fell. I lost three very close people that day. This film does nothing for them or their memory.
