There is no evidence that senior Pentagon commanders intentionally provided false testimony to about the military's actions on the morning of the September 11 attacks, according to a report by the Defense Department's watchdog agency cited in the New York Times on Saturday.

The Pentagon's office of inspector general said the Defense Department's initial inaccurate accounts could be attributed largely to poor record-keeping, the newspaper said in an article on its Web site, citing the newly released report.

A couple of thoughts:

Thought one

First, on Rodriguez, I watched his talk and was impressed. I admit, I did have a brief suspicion that he was a bit too smooth, but after he got going, it was obvious that he was sincere - in his emotion, recollection and discussion.

What I found truly fascinating was 1) the part about the 34th floor of the north tower having something machine-like moving around in it, or making noise and 2) the fact that he sued the city for the key to the towers. Amazing stuff.

Thought two

I honestly thought Peter Jennings could have reported 9-11 truth, and for a while I thought he might do it. His appearance on the Daily Show in early 2005 led me to think that ... but now he's gone.

It was lost opportunity; somebody with his experience and credibility, who witnessed the towers come down and said they looked like demolitions ...

I think these Raytheon disinfo artists are going to begin turning on each other & on their masters very soon. They are starting to see the light of day illuminate their fraud. There are very, very severe penalties for aiding, abetting, or covering-up a mass murder!!! Time for a plea bargin to spare a few of their lives.

People who don't speak for a living, without years of experience, are rarely such eloquent public speakers. Rodriguez is almost on par with Martin Luther King. I'm amazed, and a little skeptical.

Many people here (Jon Gold) are far too quick to accept any kind of information that is in support of the movement.

Jennings, of course, was shilling the official Kennedy story too, as i recall......selective editing etc.

These guys have zero credibility....no point in pinning your hopes on any of 'em.

I'm one of the most skeptical people I know.

When a real person speaks about issues they care deeply about they can be very convincing.

When a politician opens their mouth they are usually telling half truths or flat out deceptions, but they do it so well they seem convincing.

The fact that he is a good orator adds to his credibility, it does not detract from it.

I did see the Jennings show on the JFK assassination. It made me want to puke also. What a shill.

In the long run, the Warren Commission and 9/11 Commission have proven as injurious to the country as the crimes they were appointed to investigate. Sure, we'd be traumatized if we discovered that government figures colluded with the Mob to kill Kennedy. Or that some element of the government, whether sanctioned or rogue, facilitated fanatical Islamist's machinations by means of controlled detonations.

But if parties were indicted and tried, it would go a long way toward restoring the public's faith in the government. Also, note to the powers that be: If conspirators were RICO'd to smithereens, it would strip conspiracists of their theories. Once proven, a theory morphs into a crime, and the theorist is back at square one looking for a new one to champion.

Oh, for the halcyon days of yore, when conspiracy theorists were paranoid-schizophrenics, not respectable citizens like today.
