Rolling Stone Politics Posts Scathing Four Page Hit Piece on Loose Change and 9/11 Conspiracy Theories

The Hopeless Stupidity of 9/11 Conspiracy “Theories” - rollingstone.com

A few weeks ago I wrote a column on the anniversary of 9/11 that offhandedly dismissed 9/11 conspiracy theorists as "clinically insane." I expected a little bit of heat in response, but nothing could have prepared me for the deluge of fuck-you mail that I actually got. Apparently every third person in the United States thinks George Bush was behind the 9/11 attacks.
..
I have two basic gripes with the 9/11 Truth movement. The first is that it gives supporters of Bush an excuse to dismiss critics of this administration. I have no doubt that every time one of those Loose Change dickwads opens his mouth, a Republican somewhere picks up five votes. In fact, if there were any conspiracy here, I'd be far more inclined to believe that this whole movement was cooked up by Karl Rove as a kind of mass cyber-provocation, along the lines of Gordon Liddy hiring hippie peace protesters to piss in the lobbies of hotels where campaign reporters were staying.

Secondly, it's bad enough that people in this country think Tim LaHaye is a prophet and Sean Hannity is an objective newsman. But if large numbers of people in this country can swallow 9/11 conspiracy theory without puking, all hope is lost. Our best hope is that the Japanese take pity on us and allow us to serve as industrial slaves in their future empire, farming sushi rice and assembling robot toys.
..
Whenever anyone chooses to dismiss 9/11 conspiracy theorists, accusations fly; the Internet screams that you've aided and abetted George Bush. I disagree. To me, the 9/11 Truth movement is, itself, a classic example of the pathology of George Bush's America. Bush has presided over a country that has become hopelessly divided into insoluble, paranoid tribes, one of which happens to be Bush's own government. All of these tribes have things in common; they're insular movements that construct their own reality by cherry-picking the evidence they like from the vast information marketplace, violently disbelieve in the humanity of those outside their ranks, and lavishly praise their own movement mediocrities as great thinkers and achievers. There are as many Thomas Paines in the 9/11 Truth movement as there are Isaac Newtons among the Intelligent Design crowd.

There's not a whole lot of difference, psychologically, between Sean Hannity's followers believing liberals to be the same as terrorists, and 9/11 Truthers believing even the lowest soldier or rank-and-file FAA or NORAD official to be a cold-blooded mass murderer. In both cases you have to be far gone enough into your private world of silly tribal bullshit that the concept of "your fellow citizen" has ceased to have any meaning whatsoever. It may be that America has become too big and complicated for most people to deal with being part of. People are longing for a smaller, stupider reality. Some, like Bush, sell a prepackaged version. Others just make theirs up out of thin air. God help us.

Please note that the 4 page column is linked from the page linked above, and that comments can be posted in reply.

Thanks Kevin for the heads up.

I'm convinced!

Wow! What an article! It changed my mind completely. The number of points it makes makes me feel like a total idiot for ever believing that 9/11 could of been orchestrated by factors within the US Government. What was I thinking?! Rolling Stone, which is undoubtedly one of the nations (if not the world's) leading expert in Politics, Science and Engineering. Whoever wrote this article deserves the Pulitzer.
Thank you, Rolling Stone, for clearing this mess up!
Back to your lives, people, nothing to see here!

It is crazy and spooky

It is crazy and spooky reading this stuff. It's coming down to nothing more than "act like people who read enough to observe the obvious are insane. " It comes from all directions.

His daddy's an NBC reporter.

His daddy's an NBC reporter. He believes in American elections being stolen, but whoa, nothing is amiss with 9/11....

http://www.buffalobeast.com/80/ohio.htm

I think that the left wing fallacy is the belief that they and only they have the intellect to fool other people.

An excerpt of his previous

An excerpt of his previous work. He's apparently got the journalistic instincts of a cat toy. Facts, who needs facts? I got a feeling, and I think it's pretty damn funny....

"Oh, Christ, not that, I thought. Like a lot of people in this country (and like most all of my colleagues in the journalism world), my instinctual reaction to the Ohio electoral-mess story has always been one of revulsion and irritation. Almost on principle I had refused even to look at any of the news stories surrounding the Ohio vote; there is a part of me that did not want to be associated with any sore-loser hysteria of the political margins, and in particular with this story, the great conspiratorial Snuffleupagus of the defeated left.

It had always seemed to me that I understood the psychology of the Ohio story without having to examine the facts involved. I thought the story appealed most directly to a group of people who were still reeling after 2000, an election which George W. Bush not only lost according to the popular vote, but plainly stole in the electoral college. The evidence for this theft has been there for everyone to see for five years now; few serious thinkers even dispute the matter anymore, just as few Democrats would even bother denying now that John Kennedy stole the 1960 election."

I don't even think this guy is a leftist

This guy is just another poseur who sucked at the titty of NBC too long - through his Daddy's connections.

When he talks about the stolen election of 2000 he has to immediately remind everyone of the parity of that scene with that of Jack Kennedy and Chicago, 1960.

NOT.

He's not even serious. The tone is as though he's discussing a night out on the town...."OH My, I didn't want to be seen to be wearing those shoes." He thinks opinions are related to style, rather than truth. Foul.

And please don't remind us either that, if not the same folks, the same ilk of folks, ended up blowing out Kennedy's brains in broad daylight - as who did 9/11.

I know the Bushs have always envied the Kennedys. But they would never go so far as to want everything the Kennedy's had.

I don't want to demean dirt but saying this guy is filth. I don't want to elevate him, by saying he is in error or mixed-up. Maybe when he realizes what a shame he's made of himself, he'll just put a bag over his head and change his name so no one will know who he is when he goes out.

I thought being compared to terrorists pissed me off!

Now they're comparing us to Bushies!

Rolling Stoned journalistic instincts

Leave it to Rolling Stone; did I miss it, or was there a reference to "tin foil?" There usually is in such a piece, especially from a publication that has probably been a cointel agent provocateur for decades. It's so good for the regime, the pumping of Drugs and Sex and Rock and Roll! Sort of the anti-Mozart effect, laying the ground work for a piece like Matt Taibbi’s straw-man treatment of the 911Truth movement to slip effortlessly beneath the radar of the party-downed minds of its readers, most of whom no doubt find no end to the pleasure they take in chortling over a What-me-worry Commander in Chief, not realizing for a second he's the ultimate patsy.

As for the actual event about which the article's research is only deep enough to support a glib attempt at humor, indeed in consideration of what's at stake, they got one item only. Those who take this seriously know it's the key to the puzzle, for which the lack of a patent solution is the article's only serious issue; never mind its avoidance of any questioning of the "official" conspiracy theory, the wildest of them all: bin Laden, the cave, the laptop, the 19 hijackers defeating with box cutters and a dozen hours in a flight simulator the $40-billion US defense system; moreover, a conspiracy presented by the regime whole cloth within 24 hours of the event...nothing suspicious about that, not to the insightful minds (or what's left of them) at Rolling Stoned. Enough of that...here's the key with which I left them and the following instruction: You can do your own followup research - "Angel is next."

Well Said

"Party-downed"--I love it.

Notice that one of this

Notice that one of this guy's gripes with the Truth movement is that there is no one grand theory which tells the complete story.  Unfortunately that requires speculation, which immediately gets you labelled a conspiracy theorist.

So, if you stick to the facts and only what you can prove, then they have gripes with you.  If you speculate on the entire event you are a conspiracy theorist.

WHATEVER HELPS YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT you coincidence theorist.  Being willfully ignorant WILL NOT protect you when the next attack comes.

Oh well, funny thing is, it is not up to us to prove what happened that day, only what didn't happen.  And two planes DID NOT t knock down three towers that day, and thats a fact.   A handful of cave dwellers DID NOT outwit a trillion dollar defense system that day, and thats a fact.

Lets push for a real investigation and maybe then we'll get all the answers.

Attack Scenario 404 *

Here is what the dude from Rolling Stone needs:

Attack Scenario 404 *

How the Attack Might Have Been Engineered (But Probably Wasn't)

The case that the 9/11/01 attack was an inside job can be made quite apart from any specific theory as to how it was accomplished, by simply demonstrating that only insiders had the means and opportunity to execute key elements of the attack. The true nature of such an operation is undoubtedly hidden behind layer upon layer of cover story, and its details may never be discovered. Speculative theories of the operation, while not verifiable, nonetheless can be useful in answering important questions about the attack, such as the size of the conspiracy required to carry it out.

Attack Scenario 404 is such a theory. It shows that, although the attack employed a variety of sophisticated communications and weapons technologies, all of these technologies were available "off-the-shelf", having been developed by secret programs ostensibly for other purposes. Specific tasks required to fulfill the mission were outsourced to companies providing strict confidentiality and working on a need-to-know basis.

Taibbi

I would love it if Fetzer would challenge MATT TAIBBI
to a debate as it's obvious he knows very little of the facts that drive the movement.
I also think that when the REAL perpetrators of 9/11 get arrested (and we all know who they are)that we'll be needing to round up some of their complicit media dogs as well. Journalists in this country have a duty to the truth and when they disregard that duty in such a mean-spirited and callous way they are at the very least failing the public and at worst complicit.

Now to cancel that Rolling Stone subscription.

Book no Magazine burning?

I've thought for a while that we should hold public burnings where we burn books (and magazines) etc containing out right lies. It would create a bunch of media attention and remind people that Fahrenheit 451 is right around the corner. Another great canidate for the burning would be the 9/11 commission report.

yeah, great idea. They're

yeah, great idea. They're already trying to pin terrorist on people who believe it was an inside job. We should give em fuel to call us book burners now too, particularly when the neocons are the ones behaving like nazi's

Matt, its time you debate us.

Anybody could debate this clown. He however wouldn't agree to the debate. Even if he truly does believe that we couldn't possibly be right, he would still cower from a debate for fear that we are right and he would be made to look like the fool that he is.

I swear the greatest proof

I swear the greatest proof that this stuff is true and that there is a huge cover up going on is the fact that nobody will actually debate anyone who is truly well informed about this stuff who doesn't look like they should be in a high school somewhere. That's why I loved that goyette interview. It was just so painful (in a great way) to see someone outside of a controlled environment with someone who knew just a tiny bit about what's actually going on and presented themself well and was an adult just destroy the "expert." I just can't believe that journalism is truly and finally dead in a country I believed was free my entire life.

Hunter telephoned me on Feb. 19, the night before his death. He sounded scared. It wasn't always easy to understand what he said, particularly over the phone, he mumbled, yet when there was something he really wanted you to understand, you did. He'd been working on a story about the World Trade Center attacks and had stumbled across what he felt was hard evidence showing the towers had been brought down not by the airplanes that flew into them but by explosive charges set off in their foundations. Now he thought someone was out to stop him publishing it: "They're gonna make it look like suicide," he said. "I know how these bastards think . . .

All this time bashing us and not a single fact...

So Rolling Stone waxes forever on and on about how the truthers must be weirdos somehow working for the Bush Administration.

Did it ever occur to them to actually look into the facts behind 9/11 ?

They somehow believe that Bush can lie about everything, Iraq's WMDs, NSA spying, taking away freedoms, torture, National ID card, etc etc.... BUT....

On 9/11 Bush is telling the GOSPEL truth! Who is the inconsistent one here!

So many lefties compare Bush to Hitler (and rightfully so)..

But whenever I ask them how Hitler got into power, how he invaded Poland, etc, and then I try to get them to apply historical precedents to modern day events (i.e. 9/11), their brains shut off!!!!!

I'm convinced most left gatekeepers HONESTLY DO NOT GET IT! They are not deliberate agents (well, except for Chomsky, who FOR SURE knows what he is doing, and maybe Cockburn and Goodman).

I can introduce 9/11 to them, and it's like they do NOT know what the term "inside job" means. They understand that Bush benefitted from 9/11, but somehow it is a real leap to get them to see the possibility that WE NEED TO INVESTIGATE WHO BENEFITS FROM A CRIME. Instead, they will actually tell me that what I am doing is distracting from the main issue of "getting people to understand why they hate us".

The mainstream left would make very poor detectives.

We Are engaged in an An Information War

We need to understand and respect our enemy.

Matt Taibbi is a journalist in name only. In reality he is a foot soldier of the empire.

So, how best to deal with him?

1) Since he does not address facts, we don't need to refute him.

2) Since his language is dripping with invective and ad hominem insults, we don't need to dignify him by taking him seriously.

3) Since people have already accused him, by his own admission, of being a "MSM-whore left gatekeeper", (which seems fair), there's no point in rubbing it in.

4) Since he is (ultimately) on the losing side of this war, we might do well to simply try to understand him, as disgusting as that seems. Remember - he is emblematic.

5) If we can get into his head, and understand where he is coming from, we may win him over. Remember, we are on the winning side. He is a loser. We should be gracious in victory however, and refrain from lynching him.

My advice is: Don't talk to Matt in the comments (over at Rolling Stone), talk to his readers! (Also, don't just cheaply attack him ad hominem, and avoid swearing at him -- facts, figures and arguments, spiced with a bit of irony and sarcasm do work wonders! Remember: you primarily talk to his readers.....)

His readers are far more important than he himself. And he'll turn round faster than you can shake a stick at him, once a majority of his typical readership is turning...

This magazine is a corporation, not a magazine run by independant journalists in cooperation.
So basically, a wage slave just did what a corporation ordered him to do.
No surprise here.
Especially when you remember that some years ago, this corporation fiercely attacked Oliver Stone for his best movie: JFK. He dared search the truth by himself. He dared question the official version parrotted by the mass media.
RFK Jr. should be ashamed of publishing an article in a corporate magazine that attacks anyone who does not believe the official lie about the assassination of his uncle. Maybe they have one thing in common: they want one side of the political coin tossed by the powers that be to be on top...the democrat whores.

Why Many Truthers Impress Others as "Dickwads"

Using foul language and going on and on like a raving maniac does nothing to make skeptics listen and seriously consider our point of view. As the writer says, "nothing could have prepared me for the deluge of fuck-you mail that I actually got." Just the other day, in his latest 9/11 hit piece, CounterPunch editor Alexander Cockburn actually quoted such an email to illustrate that we are just a bunch of foul-mouthed hotheads. It's no wonder they don't want to hear from us, or that they're not receptive to our message.

Following some simple guidelines when composing emails would go a long way toward helping instead of hurting the 9/11 truth movement. For example:
(1) Be polite! No matter what the content of your message, foul and insulting language just turns the reader off.
(2) Be brief. Write economically and make your points clearly. Nobody wants to slog through a 10-page screed.
(3) Instead of taking the bait about the WTC and Pentagon (which is what debunkers want us to talk about), point out their flaws in reasoning and the contradictions in the official story, and the 9/11 connections with drugs, oil, and money. Especially bring up the war games, which is one of the debunkers' least-favorite topics.

email them.

tell them what you really think instead of posting on that BS blog that turned into a cluster ^%^&*#.

another not very intelligent bit of americana

The Hopeless Stupidity of the Left....

This hit piece suffers from some serious defects, notably the american habit of declare people of opposing ideas ' clinically insane'...Unless the author is a certified psychiatrist, he can not declare someone 'insane'.

Secondly, the continued belief that 9-11 truthseekers contribute to Republican 'popularity' overlooks the unpopularity of either party, both of which are loaded with 3rd rate party hacks..There is abundant evidence the 2004 elections were hijacked by the republican party.....they were/are that unpopular.

Thirdly, only the most careless of investigators names names at this stage,...to assume that 'every third person in the United States thinks George Bush was behind the 9/11 attacks'
is pure hysterical exaggeration.

Fourthly; 'There's not a whole lot of difference, psychologically'
again the author seems to think he is a clinical psychiatrist..is he?

etc
At least we now know the erstwhile leaders of the left are no longe able to lead. Its up to us to persist in our endeavours and shame them:

As Gandhi said: 'First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."'

Im waiting for my first fight with the clueless left.

9-11 conspiracy theorists got pn3d!

Taibbi hits the nail on the head with regards to intellectually sloppy theories postulated by the Loose Chang-ers, he strikes his own thumb too, by failing to mention legitimate gripes with the “9-11 Commission Report.’ You have to admit, he’s pretty good at calling bullshit. The only 9-11 conspiracy (and it is a real one) that can be discussed with any amount of certainty, is the criminal negligence of the current administration in dealing with very real, yet ultra-hyperbolized threat of terrorism. This is well documented and provable. The rest of the “evidence” is circumstantial and suspect. Some people want to believe this shoddy detective work, which finds guilt in figureheads, as badly as other want to believe a similar myth that the Bushies did all they could to protect us. Both myths are demonstrably false, and as always the truth is greyer than that, and these respective mythologies provide a doctrinal release of held bias and ideologies. Just because you want to believe, don’t make it so. Did Bush blow up the USS Cole? No. Does he want you to read the 28 redacted pages of the ‘9-11 Commission Report?” Also, a big no.
You’re all chasing a phantasm. There’s simply no reason to bypass real damning evidence of illegal incompetence and willful protection of the Saudis before and after 9-11, and instead concoct or believe a highly unlikely contrivance. Maybe if all you people focused on the fraud and known illegalities of the Iraq War, you may have an effect on the country. Bush is an asshole, but you know what? So is Osama bin Laden. You’re all noble in a way, yet still quite retarded.

Nice try

Anonymous: I know you'd like us to divert our focus and energies to things that the Bush crowd and their controllers would like us to be diverted by, but that's just not going to work.

Yeah, Truthers, let's not call attention to the one thing that truly threatens the corruption of the current system, as it exists in what's left of our country. Let's instead be a safe and ineffectual opposition that won't create any real outrage and go anywhere. Isn't that cute? I can already feel my head being patted...

Sounds like a plan to me.

Look, we don't have to have all the answers and we shouldn't be expected to have them. We (the Truth Movement) are on the outside looking in...we will never have the answers till we have a truly independent investigation with subpoena power.

The government on the other hand, HAS to answer to us. Unless, we live in a totalitarian dictatorship, of course.

my letter to rolling stone

To whom it may concern,
Thanks for printing that 9/11 conspiracy attack piece, because it made me look at your magazine in a new light! How could your publication hit the nail on the head with blatant election fraud but for some odd reason the possibility of a 9/11 cover up is such an AUDACIOUS claim? Maybe if you would delve into the actual questions we have (WTC 7 collapse, simultaneous war games coinciding with the attacks, NORAD stand down) then you would realize that we have very legitimate concerns. By stating the claim that we, citizens seeking the truth, are in fact helping the Bush administration, is plain incorrect. You, the publications and journalists who don't research this event yourself and address these sincere concerns, are letting this government get away with murder. This is the one issue that can bring them all to justice, it is what they have used for the past 5 years to advance every thing on their political agenda. By writing us off as "clinically insane" means that you are generalizing a significant segment of the population who will most definitely stop supporting you. I know I have.

Letters the The Rolling Stone Editor

Suzanne,

You've inspired me with your LTE. I've written one of my own. I don't expect it will be read, but it was gratifying to write this:

(COPY)
Editor:

Re: Low Roader Matt Taibbi suffers temporary insanity

In October, 1977 Rolling Stone Magazine had the fantastic courage and decency to publish an exposé of the C.I.A.'s Mighty Wurlitzer operation in American media. The brave author of this article was none other than the better half of the Woodward & Bernstein pairing, i.e. Carl Bernstein. The article was astonishingly honest and informative. Bernstein identified about 400 people who were either in the employ of, enthralled with or associated with the C.I.A. in a covert fashion while their paychecks came from the elite journalism, radio and television corporations of the era.

If there is one article that I've read in Rolling Stone since the early 1970s that cemented my loyalty to Rolling Stone as an apotheosis of useful journalism, Bernstein's was the one.

Time travel to today, and Matt Taibbi's hit piece on the 9/11 Truth Movement. Frankly, I've grown to really admire Taibbi's breezy and informed style in the past couple of years. I've bookmarked his work and until today, I've looked forward to his brilliant insights and inside-baseball witticisms about the folly of elective politics.

Which makes his current offering on the 9/11 Truth Movement utterly inexplicable. Smarmy, snarky, supercilious and superficial would be too kind a criticism for the absolute 2nd Grade nature of Taibbi's infantilism regarding 9/11. After gasping at Taibbi's utter naivete about 9/11 I was left in a state of complete disbelief. Not in the 9/11 Truth Movement. But in Matt Taibbi, who has completely discredited himself and as far as many of us are concerned, utterly destroyed his reputation as any sort of truth-teller. What we see today is small man reduced to the most asinine of ad hominem attacks, conjoined with all too predictable utter lack of comprehension of the cogent arguments that are starting to tear down the walls of deceit that were erected by the propagandists surrounding and pampering President Cheney and his truly evil henchmen. Before today, I would have never guessed that Matt Taibbi would turn out to be one of these oafish addle-brained government-propaganda spewing frauds. And yet, that is exactly what he is.

Jann Wenner, if you have any decency, sir, you will fire Matt Taibbi today. The man is destroying your reputation. A reputation that was so profoundly etched into my consciousness as an example of the journalism hall of fame in 1977 has now been reduced to a rotted rubble of raunchy, ridiculous refutation in the year 2006. Oh, how the mighty & good have fallen and become the mighty wurlitzer of the new generation. Jann, you can do better than this. How dare you let Matt Taibbi spew his lies, distortions, misunderstandings, mental laziness and hackneyed hustlings without adult supervision?

The truth about 9/11 is that we do not know the truth. The fact is that the "official story" is a fraudulent whitewash, a cover-up and a propagandist's nightmare designed to fleece the American public while scaring the weak-minded among us. The mendacious Matt Taibbi has exposed himself as little more than a shill for fraud. This is contemptible and utterly reprehensible. The Rolling Stone has just taken a giant leap.... into Germany, 1937.... God help us.

What Rolling Stone was exposing as fraud in 1977 is now what Rolling Stone is printing as its new "improved" viewpoint. How awful this nation has become.

Sincerely, Raymond Duray

They may keep hitpiecing it however much and often they want -- they are starting to help dig their own graves.

Just watch out what fabrication of an "October Surprise" the neocon(spirationalist)s may have cooking on their stove. And act accordingly.

Weinner-brains sold out years ago.

I won't read RS since 1981. And I've never sent a dollar to Microsoft.

I'm armed and I vote.

He's comparing us

to Sean Hannity. Republican playbook tactics again. Think he could have been a bit more creative. On this one subject, these people are all starting to sound alike. Dismiss the message by attacking the messenger.

The Ad Hominem Fallacy

The Rolling Stones article labels those who are simply asking questions as conspiracy theorists -- a classic example of the ad hominem fallacy, which attacks the presenter of a view rather than the details of the view itself.

Why:

1. did the 4 hijacked airliners escape interception when over 100 planes are intercepted every year soon after radio contact/transponders fail?
2. did 47-storey WTC Bldg. 7, which was not struck, totally collapse at free-fall speed at 5:20 pm?
3. were 1200% of normal 'put' options placed on American and United Airlines, and WTC tenants,
immediately before September 11th?
4. did an airliner strike the Pentagon, the world’s best-protected building? (Neither the damage nor the debris were consistent with the strike of a Boeing 757.) Why was the empty west wing targeted, when top brass were in the east wing?
5. did the Secret Service allow President Bush to stay at the school for 30 minutes on a publicized visit after the second tower was hit?
6. did a 2006 a National Zogby Poll show that 42% of Americans believe in a 9/11 coverup?
7. was the 9/11 Commission delayed for 441 days, and why have 115 omissions and distortions in its Report
been identified by Professor Emeritus David Ray Griffin?
8. are, five years later, New York Police, Fire, and National Guard first responders addressing audiences about multiple explosions throughout the twin towers, including the basements?
http://www.radio4all.net/proginfo.php?id=19795.

If the media would answer these questions, instead of bleating abstractions about conspiracy theorists, a silencing of concerns expressed by 42% of Americans and 20% of Canadians might ensue.

THANK YOU, ROLLING STONE!

9/11 TRUTH IS GATEKEEPER-PROOF!

THANKS FOR THE PLUG!

Rolling Stone Sucks

I was a long-time RS subscriber, but I let my subscription run out and didn't bother to renew. Not only is it one of the most liberal magazines in America, but it's somewhat of a safe haven for Democratic gatekeepers. I'm as anti-Neocon as you can get, but I got tired of their "Democrats are the saviors of humanity" attitude, and the smug way that they bash every Republican while praising every Democrat. It was cool when I was a teenager, but now that I'm heading towards 30 and reality is setting in, it's not funny or cool anymore. The guy who wrote this hit-piece knows that there's no way 9/11 could have been an inside job without some of his precious Democrats being involved, so of course he's scared shitless of the truth ever coming out. 9/11 truth hurts both political parties, and the dope-smoking metrosexual goofballs at Rolling Stone know it.

personally attacking a people group avoids the issue at hand

the more time i devote to this article, the more upset i get.
it is sugar-coated with all the right words, with some accurate assessments of people groups and news anchors.
and yet, it is completely ignoring the meat of what the 9/11 conspiracies are all about...finding answers.

personally attacking people..."tribes" is apparently the new thing to do. Bill Clinton's interview on Fox News, the one that everyone's talking about, is pretty much nothing but him personally attacking 1)the interviewer and 2)the republican "tribe"
i have a problem with that.
and i have a problem with this rolling stone article.

don't dodge the issues. people are people. they raise some people up as gods, and they push other people down as devils.
but what does that have to do with what we're talking about?!?!?

i'd like to think the 9/11 truth movement is merely begging people not to slumber.
i'd like to think we'd all like to be awake while we're alive.

rolling stone apparently disagrees with my position

I can't get angry at Taibbi

Knowing that he is on the losing side, and one day will have to deal with the shame of what he wrote. I simply can't get angry at him.

Rolling Stone

We are not a small tribe. Paranoid yes. Small, no. I dont even know my fellow tribe members. I dont imagine them to be all the same, or all like me. I imagine them to have some of the same cherished beliefs that I grew up with (for a brief time): honesty in governement, honest and free news, freedom to think and speak according to ones own conscience. etc. etc. And a belief in mathematics. 1 + 1 =2. etc.

I am a witness to history. JFK, RFK, MLK, Vietnam, Watergate, IRAN Contra, CIA drug smuggling, somebody stop me. But hey, my ideals are still there thrashing around in the darkness. Probably like most of us who still think and watch and care. A little.

So 911 sends those storm clouds of bygone memory. And it doesnt compute. So sue me if I know I am being lied to. I dont fucking like being lied to. If that rolling stone guy had bad luck, he would run into me and I would.......

Let him see my pain and rage. We are not stupid. But we are to be feared those who dont want to know.

We aint sissies. And we aint cowardly. The conclusions I have wrestled out of the twisted changing Orwellian air are quite depressing and scary. LIke the Germanic citizens of 1930's and 1940's Germany, we are enjoying relative peace and prosperity, but to topple the regime, could bring an end to life as we know it.

But you can count me in. Where do I sign up?

Coulter-esque

Wow... I just find it amazing that people attack, insult, and disparage so many things (not simply 9/11 truth) at the drop of a hat but seem to lack the ability to DEFEND their own views. This article is Ann Coulter-esque: bomb the shit out of those damn liberals, those liberals are the worst scum, they are terrorist sum-bitches... oh yeah, by the way, I'm a conservative. It's a tactic that seeks to force a way of thinking by negative imagery, to entice the masses upon the fence by giving them no choice but to join you. This method can be broken down even further, in general: hate, anger, vehemence, and zealotry instead of peace, love, tolerance, and understanding. We have been told that defense is the way to further the existence of our country, but every god damned unenlightened soul is perfectly willing and able to go on the offense. Sooo much more can be said...help me out here people, I'm tired.

You people are very funny.

You people are very funny. You all hate Bush so much and you assume that you can say anything you please, even though it has nothing to do with reality. These myths you believe in, where are the facts? Talking to each other and refusing to tolerate other opinions leaves you incredibly closeminded. I came here to find out if there was anything to these conspiracy theories. You call names, tell lies, and offer no facts. You can fool each other, but not me. I have read many of the threads here and nobody can show anything wrong with the official version. You live in your own little world where nothing matters but your feelings.
