Oprah's "Truth" spells O B E D I E N C E (or fascism?)
America is in more trouble than I thought if the Oprah group-think barometer is any indication. On today's Oprah show entitled "Truth in America", Oprah had on New York Times columnist Frank Rich who penned a book called "The Greatest Story Ever Sold: The Decline and Fall of Truth from 9/11 to Katrina.” Sacred cows that were discussed were whether or not the nation was misled into a war in Iraq and Katrina. The ostensible outright manipulation of evidence and facts (i.e. LYING) for WMD's and going to war was all couched and presented with rather safe language by citing bad intelligence, bad sources, the dems knew too, fictionalities etc. However, the language police sirens internalized in Oprah's head went off like crazy when somehow Rich intimated that Bush was lying about the state of affairs during Katrina. During this exchange, Oprah began to behave erratically and fearfully as she devotedly defended the "Decider". No, No...I don't think he way lying - I think you have to say he was misinformed etc..etc.. This caught my ear because Oprah appeared frantic in getting the point in when all she had to do was let Mr. Rich get his point in and then say something like, I think we can all agree that Mr. Bush was misinformed on matters etc..etc.. But no, I detected an air of desperation in Oprah's attitude and voice. It was almost as if it was celebrity taboo to call the president a liar. Perhaps she felt all the skeletons crashing out of her closet or the mountains of hate mail. There also appeared to be "plants" placed in the audience. At one moment, a blonde haired woman in the front row, perfectly lit wearing red, called out we don't hear the truth about all the good things about going in Iraq my brother told me they're building schools and Iraqis are thanking them etc... Then, as if on queue, a former soldier gets up and delivers his lines to support her story. I say 'lines' because the individual appeared nervous and he sort of mumbled out 'building schools'. Now I know nervousness is natural but the young gentleman just didn't sound neither impassioned nor appear to be speaking from experience. The whole show had an air of control about it as each talking point appeared to be waded into very carefully by the hosts. However, there were moments of out of control behavior. One woman passionately called out for an apology from Bush (not realizing that to admit fault in the eyes of the world community in going to war could result in the recognition of a war crime based on criminal negligence alone) Another young lady stood up and flatly stated ‘what difference does this all make when most of the American people are against the war and nobody bothers to listen to them’. To that Oprah said, Ok then - we'll be right back (no doubt thinking that I'm not going to touch that with a ten foot pole). So after that whole experience I can’t ever imagine that our beloved Oprah would ever even touch 911 Truth. It would be the equivalent of Oprah gone wild or Oprah on acid. Oprah gets strength and ratings from beating up on authors who embellish their life stories. Oprah and real truth just don’t mix. What I witnessed today had all the hallmarks of controlled dissent – its function like a release valve for those questioning in the populace and its payoff is ratings via a manufactured controversy.

Wow, if Oprah can't even fault Bush over Katrina/New Orleans...
heartless death & devestation, then she is a coward & a fraud, IMO!
What soft questions!
I recorded the show....after fifteen minutes i was done!
They say we have no proof.I say then answer all the questions.REAL QUESTIONS!
I e mailed Oprah about four months ago,and iam sure alot of truthers did.
To come across as stupid as she did blows my mind.
I would want to be as informed as possible on all the information.
Sorry Oprah.I thought you were better than this.
Frey lied, but nobody died.
"Oprah gets strength and ratings from beating up on authors who embellish their life stories. Oprah and real truth just don’t mix."
Great observation. I watched how Oprah tore into James Frey and could not help but wonder if she would hold Bush accountable to the same level of honesty. Of course our "president" should be held to a much higher standard.
In addition to the 3,000 dead U.S. soldiers and tens of thousands wounded... we now hear about 655,000 Iraqi deaths. Not to mention the death of an American city due to incompetence, greed and yes RACISM!
Oprah is a coward and a fraud. I'm very disappointed, but sadly, not at all surprised.
However, the language police
Yeah, that was very very evident. I could see fear in her eyes. She did not want the show to go anywhere near the truth about the power in DC. Katrina was a look at the deep dark racism that exists in the US, it was as if they enjoyed seeing poor black people drowning in their own filth.
And for Oprah to excuse the gross negligence of the Federal gov't from Bush down, is a clear sign that fear filled her heart and nothing else.
Fear of loosing her status, her power and prestige. Her own media empire hinged on the appearance of criticizing Bush.
I predict Oprah will gain about 100lbs from the guilt she will have to drown with food on this one.
it is OPRAH, not America that is in trouble.
What a legacy she could have had! But no, now she'll never be the first African American woman to become president. Oh well. She'll still have the book club, and maybe some people will still take her advice after they realize what a coward she is, and how subservient to the almighty dollar. Success goes to the head of weak people, and Oprah has simply demonstrated her weaknesses, other than fixation on her weight, are a fundamental need for approval from authority and the willingness to deceive millions of people to ensure her financial security. Shame, Oprah. Shame on you. Shame shame shame, the kids will hear your name when the history of the 9/11 cover up is told. If you think you look bad with a few extra pounds, just imagine how you'll look as a sell-out to anti-American murderers and traitors. Oprah Oprah Oprah--you had potential. But like many others, you chose... poorly.
