NEW YORK — There is no voice left in Manuel Checo's voice. He speaks in a granular rasp that fades, occasionally, to whispery puffs of air. Sometimes, for periods as long as two days, he is unable to speak at all.
When that happens, Checo carries a pad of paper with him so he can scribble down notes if he needs something. But for the most part, he will simply disappear into his rented room, ignoring his cellphone when it rings.
Checo, a janitor, spent six months cleaning dust from office buildings around ground zero after the World Trade Center attack. Five years later, the lining of his lungs is pocked with scars and densities that do not belong there — possibly a sign of a disease that can cause lung tissue to become so stiff that it can no longer carry oxygen, wrote a radiologist who examined a scan of his lungs last year...
...The dust around ground zero, we now know, contained caustic, finely pulverized concrete, trillions of microscopic fibers of glass, and particles of lead, mercury and arsenic, as well as carcinogens like asbestos and dioxin. Five years out, the "World Trade Center cough" has started to look like a persistent — and in some cases disabling — respiratory condition.
An ever-growing number of New Yorkers is coming forward to describe symptoms: the first responders who plunged into the tangled wreckage to find survivors; the volunteers who hauled diesel fuel and doled out cigarettes; the students at Stuyvesant High School who returned to classes while acrid fires burned nearby...

Isn't it Condi Rice who gets the credit for saying the air rwas safe to breath. Well if it wasn't who ever it was should certainly be held liable. Letting people breath that contaminated dust unprotected was like a death sentence. A slow lingering death.

Let's just add manslaughter to the charges
Let's just add wanton manslaughter to the charges of being accessories to pre-meditated murder after the fact. (Yeah, it might be more, but that's the solidest angle until we have testimony under oath.)
Thing is it doesn't matter what the particles are made of. Breathing any pulverized microscopic particles in mass quantity will over-load the lungs with physical debris. As a clay artist I regularly swab down the work areas so I don't breath in dry clay dust and get silicosis. Carving wood with power tools I wear a mask for the same reason. THERE IS NO EXCUSE for the administration, considering what we suspect they DID know, not to say "we strongly advice respatory masks considering the extremely small size of the particles observed." It wouldn't have given their game away. It would have cost them NOTHING.
Okay, it's official: THEY ARE EVIL.

(CBS) NEW YORK CBS 2 Exclusive: Stunning proof has been uncovered that the government knowingly put New Yorkers in harm's way after 9/11.
CBS 2 News has obtained documents revealing that Lower Manhattan was reopened a few weeks following the attack even though the air was not safe.
The two devastating memos, written by the U.S. and local governments, show they knew. They knew the toxic soup created at Ground Zero was a deadly health hazard. Yet they sent workers into the pit and people back into their homes.
One of the memos, from the New York City health department, dated Oct. 6, 2001, noted: "The mayor's office is under pressure from building owners ... in the Red Zone to open more of the city." The memo said the Department of Environmental Protection was "uncomfortable" with opening the areas but, "The mayor's office was directing the Office of Emergency Management to open the target areas next week."
"Not only did they know it was unsafe, they didn't heed the words of more experienced people that worked for the city and E.P.A.," said Joel Kupferman, with the group Environmental Justice Project.
Another part of the memo noted: "The E.P.A. has been very slow to make data results available and to date has not sufficiently informed the public of air quality issues arising from this disaster."
"Unfortunately, it doesn't surprise me," said health protestor Yuichi Tamamo. "For the last five years we've been saying air quality here has been horrible."
It also doesn't suprise Carmen Flores, who lives in an apartment in the Baruch Houses that was engulfed in the 9/11 toxic plume. Her health has deteriorated and she has multiple medicines.
"I feel forgotten," she said.
Bruce Sprague, an E.P.A. official in the New York and New Jersey region during 9/11 admited to CBS 2 News the agency was finding alarming air quality readings at Ground Zero and in the surrounding areas.
Sprague said the E.P.A. had written much more conservative health assessments, but the memos had to go to Washington. And when the White House got its hands on them, they -- according to Sprague -- softened them.
The city health department refused to comment on the memo, but inside sources told CBS 2 News the memo is real. And its veracity is not questioned by the Environmental Justice Project's Kupferman.
He calls it "a smoking gun."

What kind of reporting was that? No discussion of the widely available facts related to the white house push to declare the site safe? Last I heard, a good reporter would actually ask 'why' as well as 'what', 'who', 'where', and 'when'. Clearly, 'why' is taboo when it comes to all events surrounding 9/11. How long before 'why' becomes the very definition of unpatriotic.
Drop all other aspects of 9/11 and you can virtually hang the entire administration on this one issue - that's assuming Congress actually cared an ounce for its citizens. If your already angry about this, consider that those involved have only managed to fail upwards...receiving praise and promotion! Be angry, no, be furious.
Last of their concerns, especially now
They killed over 3,000. people --Before-- going on a global rampage. That proves they don't care the least how many people they kill now.
Who here, or in Congress, even cares about New Orleans anymore?
And, what's driving all of this? Is it because the CFR says we'll need to reduce population? Is it because the polar caps are melting so fast that a virtual Armageddon is coming anyway? Or is it because the Queen of England and the Rothchilds are getting jealous of the Chinese Royal Family?
The LA riots proved that, (under relatively constrained conditions,) we are too stupid to attack 'the Rich' during times of crisis. Were --the RICH-- and --the ELECTED-- to be considered the prime targets in times of attack, things would look much different today.
I mention this because Bill Clinton was trained in Oxford to become the President, (mom ran his first election,) and I was shooting still photos of the Telemundo News Crew in action during the height of the riots. Although tensions did rise, the Beverly Hills local cops were enough to keep Rodeo Dr. secure, while all of the burning and looting occurred elsewhere.
I kept thinking it would be the opposite, but the 'LA Riot' was fueled, and analyzed as an experiment, as was the first World Trade Center bombing. Clinton was the innocent voice of reason, (now Treason,) as our eyes were all trained on Monicagate, and the O.J. 'trial' at those times. Don't forget, the Mellon family provided the money to attack Bill, just to lame-duck him. You probably noticed that the scumbag hung his head down, as he uttered his appeal for the "New World Order." But, today, Bill's proud as a peacock, still strokin' his, and George Sr's pecker, thanklessly spending Bill Gate's money; "rescuing the poor African children from contracting Aids..."

At Confronting the Evidence, I went back to the "pit of our Nation" for old times sakes. Although the 'dust' was contained to the actual building foundation by then, the stench was quite caustic. I've tasted nearly every chemical Edmund ever sold to kids, including lead and mercury, and I've smelled plenty of burning flesh. This was like the worst of all of that in super-fine form. I considered the trace amount I received in 1 1/2 hour, to have been my personal 'lethal' dose. Also, I have a sister who just underwent a laranjectomy, and many more firends in NYC who will eventually suffer similar cancer from the dust.
Today, my safest bet is to consider all Americans as mere cannon-fodder. You and I are toast. There is no liklihood of a fair election, let alone a trial, or any sentencing for Silverstein, or the Congress and Military -brass.
Oh, there will be trial and sentence...
just not by the conventional courts
