University of Wisconsin professor Barrett attracted national notoriety for his robust response to neocon critics of his syllabus for a course on Islam. Ingram is the largest book wholesaler in the US, and they will make 9/11 Synthetic Terror more easily available in bookstores. I've been warning friends
I've been warning friends about this for years now. I'm in my twenties and I spent 4 years in a brain research lab at the National Institutes of Health. I consider myself to be someone who tries to see the bigger picture. What I feel is a major issue is that scientists don't sit down and discuss the implications of their research, especially the negative. I'm just as curious as they are about the human brain and it's operations; however, by dissecting the actual realtime functions of it we are opening up a HUGE pandora's box. One of my best friends who was in the same lab as me would argue that, "You just can't stop researching something because of potential negative consequences because someone else will just do the research that you're unwilling to do." Now he is probably correct in this statement. The human race needs to slow down and step back and ask if it is really worth the research we are currently doing. Yes we could potentially help stroke victims etc down the road with more improvements in technology and our understanding of the brain but at the same time we could potentially be giving a master key to the establishment to use against us with other new technology. Just look at how they've taken advantage of the television as a medium to mediate our perceptions of the world.
Now imagine if you will the ability to literally just tap right into people's brains perhaps via Electromagnetic fields. We may be a ways off from this happening but all the research going on around the world that is attempting to understand our neural circuits is laying the foundation for new technology to do such things. In fact I think it's quite possible that attempting to alter or manipulate said neural circuits would be easier than repairing them which is often cited as a benefit of brain research.
Manipulating the circuits would entail finding ways of using exterior means to effect the circuits. Repairing the circuits, for say a stroke victim, would have to entail somehow generating new neurons in the obliterated region(strokes starve local neural populations and kill them) and once established they would need to be pruned to perform the functions for that given region. It would take far more work to build new circuits for a region than it would to figure out how to alter normally functioning circuits.
Just think about this for a little bit people. It's one of the most important issues of our time as it deals directly with our ability to make decisions for ourselves.

This is true in my mind. The whole body counting has only *helped* Bush, as long as one doesn't count Iraqis, because it's *way* lower than Vietnam or many other ground-wars. The real problem is the f**** money: it'll be $400 billions soon "for the Iraq war", not to mention the neocons have tapped $500 billion out annually for non war related military expenditures. Why does that matter? and matter more than 3000 dead? Because the money did NOT come from a flourishing U.S. economy that can "afford" all that but from China and other foreign sources, for whom the U.S. population will soon serve as slaves, when they can't pay it back!

Failing Dollar
China with all it's reserves of the Dollar will not be affected greatly by falling dollar.... for them it was a great investment..... they can actually crash the dollar at any time if the so wish.
It will not hurt China because all they have to do is start paying their workers enough to buy their own goods..... F shipping them to us.... After we pay to build all their factories and infrastructure.... they could care less about our market....
Invest in tourism.... when the dollar hits bottom it will give other countries the reason to visit due to the great exchange rate.... kinda the reason we vacation in Jamaica and Mexico besides the great weather.... it's cheap!
