Bush Admits He Lied About Rumsfeld For Political Purposes

Last week, President Bush unequivocally told a group of reporters that Defense Secretary Rumsfeld and Vice President Cheney would “remain with him until the end of his presidency, extending a job guarantee to two of the most-vilified members of his administration.” Bush said, “Both those men are doing fantastic jobs and I strongly support them.”

Today, he announced Rumsfeld is resigning and being replaced by former CIA Director Robert Gates. At the press conference, Bush said that “the only way to answer that question, and get it on to another question, was to give you [the reporters] that answer.” Bush admitted that he had talked to Rumsfeld about resigning and was actively searching for his replacement at the time. Thus far, the mainstream media seems content to give Bush a pass for admitting to this blatant deception. ABC news characterized it as Bush having "misled" the press. It's one thing to mislead by withholding pertinent information or shading the truth, it's another thing entirely to LIE OUTRIGHT. This MUST call into question every statement of consequence ever uttered by Bush, from the claim that Iraq had WMD's on back to what he knew about 9/11 and when he knew it.

Also keep in mind that this is a man who refused to be sworn in under oath while testifying before the the 9/11 commission. In light of his acknowledgement that he is a LIAR, we must subpoena him, swear him in and interrogate him on EXACTLY what he knew about 9/11 and when he knew it!

Thousands of Americans have already lost their lives based on the lies uttered by George W. Bush. When Clinton lied, nobody died, yet he was still impeached! Enough is enough! We must hold this man accountable for what he has done and what he continues to do in our name.
