Lee Hamilton, former Congressman and Vice Chairman of the 9/11 Commission, will discuss the current state of our homeland security and will answer questions both from a live audience and from internet webcast viewers across the country.

If you have a question you would like to ask, you can send an e-mail to: Feel free to send questions now as well as during the live webcast!

If you will be in the DC area on Wednesday, please RSVP if you'd like to be part of the live audience.

Note: You can find some previous discussion on this from Simuvac's blog entry from yesterday here.

From the flashback link:

From the flashback link: "The vice president expressed the concern that a review of what happened on September 11 would take resources and personnel away from the effort in the war on terrorism," Daschle told reporters."

By that argument no organization ANYWHERE would investigate any wrong doing in it's ranks EVER.

Can you imagine a police chief arguing against a probe into police brutality based on "an investigation would take resources away from fighting crime"?

One day, hopefully soon, every sod who bought this shite is going to wake up and be VERY embaressed they did.

Actually I reported this event ages ago in the comments section

Like the FAA whistleblower article in USA Today, John L was first on the scene. I really hope somebody asks some tough questions and films it. So, when will I be able to blog on my own here? Can anyone do it who is logged in, approved and verified?

Already posted this

While it's no big deal, I have to ask why this posting of the same material I blogged over 24 hours ago made the front page and not my blog entry?

Anyway, I hope Hamilton can explain the omissions and distortions of his fraudulent report.

promoting it now would put

promoting it now would put it further down the page, but i'll add a link.

sorry about that.. we should have.

No problem. Thanks.

No problem. Thanks.

I hope there will be

I hope there will be bird-doggers there with cameras and people asking tough questions!

covering up the polls

Given the Zogby and other polls that revealed at least 1/3rd of the population to be 9/11 conspiracy "theorists", this should become quite a test for how powerful they can cover the truth up. Especially now with the Democratic election victory and the neocons' support crumbling.

But I'm afraid they'll be running the show once more, with only callers/e-mails that want more 'security' and are afraid the Dept. of H.S. isn't doing (i.e. spending) enough... - the perfect illusion of govt. and citizen harmony about 9/11.

Can anyone sneak in banners there? I'd recommend "Investigate 9/11!" or just "9/11 truth".

so basically they are

so basically they are controlling which questions get asked?

nevermind, I suppose "live

nevermind, I suppose "live audience" means whoever gets to the microphone the fasted.

I'm just wondering if it'll be worth my time.

edit above: "fastest" rather

edit above: "fastest" rather than "fasted" lol

I feel terrible for not

I feel terrible for not going. its a complete white-wash circle-jerk. Just wouldn't have bave get back for class on time **bangs head.

I am sorry for that. So far only one 9/11 Truther has gotten a question in, and it was about the lack of an investigation into the anthrax letters. clever and relevant question, but they brushed it off when the questioner (from or com) asked if the FBI investigated any U.S. authorities that might be invovled in the scare.

Slesinger I bet.

"It was all about finding a way to do it. That was the tone of it. The president saying ‘Go find me a way to do this."

Here's the video

I haven't watched it yet, though:

1 hour, 30 minutes - 184 MB

Watching it now. And from what Daschle has said about Hamilton and the 9/11 cOmmission so far, I'm betting he's either sold his soul to Beelzebub or more likely is afraid what would happen to him if he told the truth.

EDIT again:

Slesinger is there and just asked the first question -- about ANTHRAX -- @ 29 minutes into the video!

Another EDIT:

Here's an article about it posted on his website: Addresses Anthrax on C-Span

On 11/29/06 I was the first person Tom Daschle called on at the Center for American Progress talk on C-Span with Daschle and Lee Hamilton on the topic of Homeland Security. Check C-span for streaming video.

I said I was disappointed the Kean Commission didn't deal with the anthrax issue. I noted that since Daschle and Sen. Leahy were the only elected officials to receive weaponized anthrax. No Republicans were hit. The anthrax hit Daschle and Leahy at the moment they were obstructing the first passage of the USA Patriot Act. This suggests the sponsors of The USA Patriot Act are a good place to investigate.

Both Daschle and Hamilton screwed up on their comment.

Hamilton had earlier claimed the most significant fact about the 9/11 issue is that we haven't been attacked since. I doubt the families and loved ones of the anthrax victims would agree.

Daschle actually said no one died from the anthrax. I spoke to him afterwards and he realized he screwed up. I said the postal workers would like to meet with him. He readily agreed.
