9/11 film focuses on conspiracy theories

Phil Manning’s heart aches for his brother, killed in the 9/11 attacks. But it hurt more to know Scottsdale Community College screened a documentary stating Terence Manning and hundreds of others weren’t victims of terrorism but of a shadowy conspiracy.
About 60 people came to the college on Monday night to see “911 Mysteries — Part 1: Demolitions.” The movie theorizes the World Trade Center towers were knocked down by controlled explosions, and not by the fires created by the impact of two jetliners.
However, writer/director Sofia Shafquat does not offer an opinion on who, or what, would commit such a heinous act.
The 43-year-old Manning attended, somewhat shocked that this issue could even need discussion, let alone at his hometown community college. “This probably gets under my skin more than anything post-9/11,” said Manning, a member of the Arizona 9-11 Memorial Commission.
Focal Point, the college’s film club, sponsored the film. The decision to host the film came a month ago, when a student learned Shafquat was coming to the Valley. “Regardless whether you believe it or not, it’s still an important film,” club president Andre Trinidad said.
The showing of “911 Mysteries” provoked a small outcry on campus and beyond.
Political science professor Nick Damask sent an e-mail to the entire Maricopa County Community College District stating: “I will not be attending the film presentation for the same reasons I would not attend a presentation on alchemy, flat-earth theory, or Holocaust denial — it’s simply too stupid and irrational.” Also voicing displeasure with the screening, yet still attending, was district governing board member Jerry D. Walker.
Later, Shafquat said she was drawn to the issue by a friend who tried to debunk such conspiracy theories only to find merit in their arguments.
“The more you go into the territory of 9/11 and the more you follow this angle or that angle and look for real facts and real science, the more it adds up,” Shafquat said.
“The more you follow the official story of 9/11, the more it falls apart.”

Irony, when you get me...
She's far from being the only one in that case. I personaly get my first hint about 911 truth when browsing a skeptic web site forum last spring and see the moderators trying to debunk the pentagone issue. That gets me curious, and voilà! another truth activist was born. : )

Right. Anyway, the male creator of "Mysteries" himself started out as such a case, having viewed "Painful Deceptions", which he explains in the opening minutes of the movie.
What is sad
is the ignorance that comes with saying discussing the issue is "hurtful" to victims and their families.
If your brother were murdered, would you attack the homicide detectives for being "hurtful" in trying to solve the murder of your brother?
I think that the possibility
I think that the possibility that the government may have been involved hurts EVERYONE just a little bit more!!
I think it hurts knowing that they are desperately trying to hide evidence and cover-up a crime.
I think it hurts knowing that they had fore-knowledge which could have prevented or lessened the extent this tragedy.
I think it hurts knowing that we went to war based on a lie.
I'm guessing that in the thinking that 19 Muslims hijacked 4 airliners and penetrated our defenses and killed 3,000 people.... in essence wraps each of the victims families in a warm multimillion dollar blanket.
Money makes it all hurt just a little bit less.

I received no money from this and everyone involved would give it away in a nosecond to get their loved ones back, and if this is not "hurtful" then what is. Ignorance
Mine was and yes if interlopers who had no expertise or involvement,twisted the words of police experts and used spurious accounts that add up to science fiction. Then yes I would "attack"--(defend) myself and it would be hurtful, I do not need parenthesis.

Go to right field and hope the ball isn't hit to you.
These are exactly the people that should come to these events...... because I love it when after the film they pick their jaw up off the floor and triple take themselves back into their government imposed reality then try and formulate some sort of emotionally guided attack on the film..or the people...... before they can get their message out they look around and see the look on the faces of the people listening intently and sympathicly to them .....and their feet start leading them unconsciously to the door.... desperately fleeting for the closest refuge..... I can only imagine that they cry themselves all the way home... then seek comfort in their favorite mind numbing blog.
