9/11 responders speak at PSU

Many first responders to the 9/11 attacks in New York risked their lives to save others.

But now, many of those rescue workers are fighting for their own lives.

David Miller and Craig Bartmer both responded to the World Trade Center attacks.

Miller and Bartmer made the trip to Pittsburg Wednesday night to speak at Pittsburg State University about the health problems both are facing, which occurred after their involvement with the 9/11 rescue attempts.

"My personal message is that first responders are sick," Bartmer said. "I'm watching my friend David die. There are 8,500 people on one lawsuit alone, 400 which have rare cancers. But we have the city (New York City) and EPA saying it's not related. We're trying to rally support. We are trying to start a charity called 9/11 Care charity."

Miller and Bartmer are now traveling to spread their message to others.

Rebaccah Cereses, a documentary film maker, is also traveling with the men to help bring their stories to life and express the need for health care and support.

"This is not just a New York City problem," Cereses said. "It's a problem for our entire country. These first responders are not being treated with the respect they deserve. I can't sit back and do nothing while these people were so courageous."

Cereses said she got on board with the men's mission after hearing about the deadly diseases and conditions many first responders are now facing.

Mary Beth Norris said she had no idea many first responders were in such bad shape.

Norris, who attended the presentation, said she heard about the issue through her son, a student at PSU.

"It makes me wonder if we're not getting the whole truth," Norris said. "I wouldn't have known about all this if it wasn't for my son."

Bartmer said he is not speaking out for people's sympathy or money, he simply wants people to know about the terrible conditions facing thousands of first responders, people who risked their life for others and now cannot get the help they so desperately need.

Hey newbies...

Do you understand how profound the statement in bold is? We are asked all of the time, "Why isn't it on the front page of every newspaper?" in regards to 9/11 Truth. The reason is, the media is controlled. Period. If the media truly did its' job, 9/11 Truth would have been on the front page of every newspaper in the world, starting from day one.

digg it

Is that really your favorite 9/11 video?

I'm just asking because you've been - dare I say - spamming it all over this site for well over a month now. I think it's one of the worst vids available. What's your favorite part?

Refrain

Please refrain from promoting any more of your conspiracy theories, Jon.

Your \"movement\" is dying a well-deserved death.

That's funny...

Even in the latest hit piece by the Nation, they state that, "The Truth Movement's relationship to the truth may be tenuous, but that it is a movement is no longer in doubt."

Doesn't seem like we're dying to me.

oh yeah!

"that it is a movement is no longer in doubt"

Wow, they got a fact right! hahaha deal with it, suckers

Yes, in a sense, but...

....we're not organized in a national way yet...

Maybe we could start with national days of activism of some sort, all doing the same thing on the same day, locally....for a start.....and build from there....

Any ideas?

In a way that's good

Grassroots is where the power is.

I don't want leaders - I want everyone to be a leader.

National (or international) days of action is a good idea - we've got one coming up on the 16th. I think we should do something on a national level every month.

I'm not suggesting national "leaders"....

....not remotely...I'm suggesting that local 9/11 Truth groups coordinate their efforts, at least occaisionally at first....

You're preaching to the choir.

I often say that the beautiful thing about this movement at this time is that "everyone can be a leader"....all you need is a computer, the internet, a DVD burner, and a willingness to engage people....

But being "individual leaders" dilutes the power we could have if we all did the same thing occaisionlally at once, for starters....

I didn't mean to imply that you were

Just responding with what came to mind.

So what's your idea for the next day of action?

Maybe start a blog on it - co-ordinating nationally isn't that difficult and we should be doing it with increasing regularity.

Hmmmmmm....

.....I don't know, I haven't given this a lot of thought....

We could have a freeway blog day, where everyone puts up the same message in their town that day....

A day where everyone calls the media (maybe one in particular), or a politician.

A day where everyone hands out DVDs in front of, say City Hall, in their town and films it.....

That's just off the top of my head....

Yes

We could have weekly days of media action - with a specific target each week.

And then a monthy national day of out-in-the-street type action.

If you don't blog it, I will. :)

Where's The Debunkers?

Where's the "debunkers" and JREF idiots to call us "deniers" and "twoofers" for posting this story?
I can almost guarantee those f--tards probably think this too is "just a conspiracy".

Actually...

According to them, this is a "legitimate" concern, and they are mad at the 9/11 Truth Movement for tying in a "legitimate" concern with the "twoofer" nonsense we usually partake in...

The problem with that thesis is the environmental disaster that was 9/11 has ALWAYS been a concern of the 9/11 Truth Movement. For AS LONG as I can remember.

My question is...

Where is the support from the "Debunkers" for the first responders? I don't recall ever seeing them promote the fact that they are now sick and dying.

Seeing as how it's a "legitimate" concern.

It's not the governments

It's not the governments fault.... it wasn't discovered that heavy metal particulates and asbestos were hazardous
untill March 2004..when someone at the EPA discovered that if they sat down and really thought about something... e
very once in a while something quality comes out....

"50,000+ pounds of fine particulate dust which likely contains asbestos.... don't worry about it.
I'll be in my office uptown if you have any other questions....
Oh yeah... if you get anything in your mouth wash it down with anti-freeze.... If you get anything in your eyes....
use some lemon juice and salt or some pepper spray...that always works.....if there is an emergency....
all Ginos Pizza.... their I saw their dishwasher save some guy who was choking... he doesn't speak English....
but who does anymore.....Peace Out! Word to your mother."

It's a common mistake.

Someone there needs to get a promotion and a raise for their trouble.... ohhh the embarassment they must have endured for their mistakeS.

Fatal 9/11 Denier virus spreads to Europe

Where does it show on their page a denial of the fact that 9/11 was a false flag operation, or have I misread your statement? They are trying to do something that you have failed to achieve in five years and you slate them for it. Are you in the pro-Bush camp, because that's what it reads like?

Death by Dust

Death by Dust
The frightening link between the 9-11 toxic cloud and cancer

WTC cancer cluster 'like Hiroshima'

Plaintiffs suing New York City for cancer spawned by destruction of the World Trade Center towers are subscribing to an "interacting toxins" theory of their illness. This is because NYC is liable for approving the building materials of the towers, but would not be liable if mercenary teams placed advanced micronukes in the towers.

Nevertheless, the report excerpted below does compare the cancer rate in post-9/11 Southern Manhattan to that of Hiroshima following the nuclear device detonated there.

From Village Voice November 28th, 2006:

"This is the story of 9-11 and cancer.

To date, 75 recovery workers on or around what is now known as "the Pile"—the rubble that remained after the World Trade Center towers collapsed on the morning of September 11, 2001—have been diagnosed with blood cell cancers that a half-dozen top doctors and epidemiologists have confirmed as having been likely caused by that exposure.

Those 75 cases have come to light in joint-action lawsuits filed against New York City on behalf of at least 8,500 recovery workers who suffer from various forms of lung illnesses and respiratory diseases—and suggest a pattern too distinct to ignore. While some cancers take years, if not decades, to develop, the blood cancers in otherwise healthy and young individuals represent a pattern that experts believe will likely prove to be more than circumstantial. The suits seek to prove that these 8,500 workers—approximately 20 percent of the total estimated recovery force that cleared the rubble from ground zero—all suffer from the debilitating effects of those events.

The basis for the suits stems from the plaintiffs' argument that the government—in a desperate attempt to revive downtown in the wake of the catastrophic events on 9-11—failed to protect workers from cancer-causing benzene, dioxin, and other hazardous chemicals that permeated the air for months. Officials made these failures worse by falsely reassuring New Yorkers that they faced no long-term dangers from exposure to the air lingering over ground zero.

"We are very encouraged that the results from our monitoring of air-quality and drinking-water conditions in both New York and near the Pentagon show that the public in these areas is not being exposed to excessive levels of asbestos or other harmful substances," Christine Todd Whitman, the then administrator of the EPA, told the citizens of New York City in a press release on September 18—only seven days after the attacks. "Given the scope of the tragedy from last week, I am glad to reassure the people of New York . . . that their air is safe to breathe and the water is safe to drink."

Those statements were not only false and misleading, but may even play into the basis for the city's liability for millions of dollars in the recovery workers' lawsuits. Last February, U.S. District Judge Deborah Batts cited Whitman's false statements as the basis for allowing a different class-action lawsuit to proceed—this one, against the EPA and Whitman, is on behalf of residents, office workers, and students from Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, many of whom suffer from respiratory illnesses as a result of 9-11. [...]

Given the fact that some cancers are slower to develop than others, it seems likely to several doctors and epidemiologists that many more reports of cancer and serious lung illnesses will surface in the months and years to come. The fact that 8,500 recovery workers have already banded together to sue, only five years later—with 400 total cancer patients among their number—leads many experts to predict that these figures are likely to grow, meaning a possible death toll in the thousands.

In many ways, these illnesses suggest the slow but deteriorating health issues that faced the atomic-bomb survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, where thousands died in the years and decades that followed the United States' use of nuclear weapons. [...]

The biggest group by far consists of people like Vallebuona, who have blood cell cancers. Seventy-five clients suffer from lymphoma, leukemia, multiple myeloma, and other blood cell cancers; most are men, aged 30 to 60, who appeared in perfect health just five years ago.[...]

The blood cancer cases seem too disproportionate to be random. Two percent of these workers have been diagnosed with what amounts to related diseases, none of which fall into the "high-frequency" category, which includes prostate cancer. One out of 9,000 people nationwide gets lymphoma a year; for myeloma, it's one out of 30,000. By contrast, the 75 blood cancer patients translate into several dozen new cases a year.

[...]

[Boston University's Dr. David] Ozonoff echoes all five of his colleagues when he draws parallels between the aftermath of 9-11 and that of another massive exposure: the atomic-bombs dropped on Japan. Bomb survivors experienced excessive spikes in leukemia rates within the first five years, a surprising discovery for epidemiologists in the mid 20th century. While this outbreak resulted from radiation, both it and 9-11 involved a sudden and intense blast of carcinogens. For bomb survivors, leukemia appeared first, followed by breast and lung cancer. "That could happen with 9-11," says [Jonathan] Samet, the Johns Hopkins epidemiology department chair. "It might be what we're seeing today."

We must be the change we wish to see in the world. M Gandhi

That's a ridiculously...

Long article people so be forewarned before you read it. Thanks Joe.

The Debunkers Havent DONE SH-- FOR THE VICTIMS

You know, people can roll their eyes at the beliefs, or some of t he posits of the so called theorists", but WHO has been advocates and never left the side of the victims f amilies, s urvivors a nd sick firemen/police/etc?

Who can firemen/police/medics who were told to shut up, go away, had fishy stuff happen to them, were screwed...who can they go to and feel safe?

Even extremely prominent widows who might not neccesarily agree with some of the beliefs of the truth movement says quite publicly that they are th eonly ones who sitll care.

The debunkers will tell ya "oh, the twoofers are j ust courting the and standing up for the victims and families to legitimaize their crazy beliefs".

Well first of all, as far back as 2001 the truth movement has always been a wide swatch of people, with a primary focus on accountability, asking questions, and highlightsing the victims.

WHY IUS IT it took the families TO DEMAND an investigation when Bush didnt want one, and even then it was a total sham?

Yes, we as 9/11 activists have some, well misguided people positing the most outlandish theories that make uslook nuts...but whats even WORSE is the "debunkers"/JREF assholes/war worshippers who call
us nuts, say were demaing the families: WHEN THEY HAVENT DONE A GODDAMN THING to
highlight ANY problems, coverups or victim advocacy. They USE STRAWMEN to paint us all as somehow anti American sickos.

If you were truly to shine a mirror on the debunkers, they would cower at their own hypocracy and venomous hate. I WOULD LOVE to debate with some of these clowns, as I guaranteed I'd shove their ad hominems right back down their throats with so REAL vetted facts they cannot deny.

I made this...

Either the day of, or the next day, I don't remember...

When I talk to family members, I treat them with the utmost respect. When I talk to NYPD, FDNY, etc... I also treat them with the utmost respect.

Back in the beginning of this year, I had the privilege of having dinner with Bob McIlvaine. When I first met him outside of the Chinese Restaurant, I was literally shaking because I wanted to make sure the first thing I said to him, was the right thing to say. I walked up to him, shook his hand, and said, "Mr. McIlvaine, before we talk about anything in regards to tonight, I just wanted to say sir that I am very sorry for your loss."

We have never NOT supported the family members, the first responders, etc... No "debunker" can make that claim.

You must mean that only if you are a 9/11 Denier, will you \"help\" victims of 9/11.

It\'s bizarre to think that by pissing on the graves of 3,000 Americans killed by Al Qeada on 9/11 is \"helping\" them.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/18/AR200611...

The articles themselves are disheartening. Sen. Clinton, who of course is bashed all the time, fought hard to have more protection and more $$$ for the vicitms of 9/11, especially the first responders. The Senate, back in Sept - 2006 shot her bill down.

Then the 2nd article reveals how the federal government abandoned autopsy procedures altogether. They claim they didn't want the public to be mislead. Once you scrape awat the blatant horse s**t from that line, you can see the contempt our federal governent has for science, and hence, the contempt they have for the truth.

Do what you can to get this word out. Not enough has been done. I have written to the usual news outlets to get this story to the top, but no one cares in the media. As we all know, it's a left-wing conspiracy.

Charity

I really hope a charity can be started for the FR/residents. Truth groups across the country would have an INCREDIBLE opportunity to organize fundraisers and benefit those in need while at the same time raising the visibility level of the movement.

That's a good idea.

What do we do?

I don't know.

It's funny, because I was thinking about just this same thing today, before reading this (that the FR/residents really need a legit charity set up ASAP.) They probably need legal assistance to get that going.

All I know is, the minute they get one set up, I will be all over that shit. Because it's the right thing to do and it's the best thing I can imagine for 9/11 Truth to be the ones doing it.

A couple of corrections need made.

I don't know about the original article, but the reference here to PSU and its location is wrong. PSU stands for Pennsylvania State University (more commonly known as Penn State). PSU's main campus is at University Park, PA in Center County. PSU does have campuses near Pittsburgh (spelled with an h at the end).
