The $2.3 Trillion Question

I’m sure as most of you know, On September 10th, 2001, the day before the 9/11 attacks, Donald Rumsfeld admitted that they lost track of $2.3 trillion in spending.

Directly from CBS:
"According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions," Rumsfeld admitted.
$2.3 trillion — that's $8,000 for every man, woman and child in America.
• CBS. The War on Waste. January 29th 2002.

What most of you should know, but is seldom discussed is that the casualties at the Pentagon consisted of many civilian accountants. This is a very powerful argument that is not made often enough. That on September 10th, 2001, it’s admitted that $2.3 trillion are missing, and the next day, the accounting section is attacked.

The reason this fact is important, is that no matter what any American’s views about what happened on 9/11 are, they’ll be interested to know that the government “cannot track” $8000 of their money. This could be a good way to get people to look at 9/11 truth. Go around asking people if they heard the government stole $2.3 trillion, or $8000 of your money? And when they ask why they didn’t hear about, you tell them it was the day before 9/11, and the next day the accounting section of the pentagon was attacked. If you’re out on the street handing out flyers or whatever, just print off a copy of the CBS War on Waste article and show them. Since this is 100% fact, no one will be able to debunk you and people will be shocked and intrigued to find out more about what happened to their money.

My question though, were there any other mainstream news sources that reported this? This is the only main article that I know of, and it was published on January 29th, 2002. Now, why would this story not be front page on September 11th, 2001? I don’t know too much about this issue, but I don’t think this made it in the news for 9/11. It’s understandable why this would not be reported on the September 12th and after that, but what is the rationalization for not having this as front-page news in every paper for 9/11? I understand why ‘they’ could not, because it would draw attention to this fact. Many people saved the newspaper on September 12th, and many would probably save the 11th if there was something newsworthy in there. Does anyone know what the big news story on 9/11/01 was? Did this story even make it in any newspapers at all on 9/11?

My other question is more speculation. But what do you think happened to this $2.3 trillion? Could this have been the money used to finance the attacks? Certainly if someone was involved in any aspect of the attack, they would have to make a lot of money as a result. And $2.3 trillion could buy the souls of enough people to help commit and cover-up 9/11. Was the real financier behind 9/11 the American taxpayer who had $2.3 trillion of their money stolen and used to attack them?

Excellent suggestion!

I try to bring up the missing $2.3 trillion and the suspicious timing of Rummy's announcing it (and throwing in he changed his "Rumsfeld's Rules" for only the 2nd time on the same day too).

What's disheartening is that some people voted low scores for this idea. That boggles the mind.

Focus on the botched crash scene at Shanksville.

ya... i think it's a pretty

ya... i think it's a pretty important, it's easy and quick to explain and can't be bebunked, and a concern to all americans.

but most people don't mention the two facts together, (2.3 trillion and pentagon casualties). in fact, yours is the only site i've seen who's looked into who died at the pentagon. so thanks for that, that's very valuable information.

i watched John Albanazne's Everybody's Gotta Learn movie for the first time acutally just a week or two ago, and i was shocked to see him shrug off the pentagon casualties as civilian contractors. now, i don't want to critize him because he made that movie a while ago and may not have been aware of that. but if he was aware of it, i found that to be very misleading because the pentagon casualties are the most imporant deaths on 9/11 (in addition to John Oneill and the Marsh Offices maybe)

Also bring up the issue of foreign debt.

A foreign country could blackmail our leaders by threatening our economy with the amount of debt we've run up. That's a huge threat that not many people think about.

Material abundance without character is the path of destruction. - Thomas Jefferson

and maybe equally as

and maybe equally as important, is the other group of people that died at the pentagon, the Navy people.

from killtown's site

"NAVY PERSONNEL: (Presumed to be all part of the Office of Naval Intelligence--who were likely to have been monitoring the secret War Games, and would have been the first to realize the war games were a ruse in order to attack NYC.) "

Good issue to bring up..

This is a good issue to bring up.. Also remember that Rumsfeld made the announcement on a Monday, when the tradition is always to break such bad news late in the day on Friday.

One point though, he didn't say it was missing all at once, but rather over a long period of time. Also he said "couldn't track," which is intentionally vague.

Here is another article summarizing the issue ..

i can't remember, is the

i can't remember, is the $2.3 trillion thing in Loose Change? anyone know if it's gonna be in the final cut? because i think that fact definately should be, and espeically in combination with the pentagon fatalities.

good article and posts--

thanks to whoever that was

thanks to whoever that was who voted up to -2 so that it's not collapsed... but as you can see, there's no reason why some of your staffers should have voted those posts down... it's my fucken blog for god sakes... you've got people on your staff who clearly discriminate against people and that's not healthly. this should be a forum where a free exchange of ideas should be encouraged. it really pisses me off when i see the same people getting voted down even when their comments are good and helpful. how about you guys get rid of your retarded plus/minus system, it's fucken annoying.

Yes, when you are broaching

Yes, when you are broaching the subject of “9-11 was an inside job” idea with people out there who don't have a clue what happened on 9-11 or what is happening to our country in general, this missing $2.3 trillion is definitely a subject that will get even their attention.

Lots of questions of all kinds come up about the Pentagon. Dr. James Fetzer has studied this particular part of the story in detail. He has said on his radio shows that someone called around and got the names and job titles and employer of the people killed in the Pentagon. A high percentage of them had titles like Accounting Analyst, Accounts Research Officer and other titles to indicate financial investigators and analysts. Some of them were working for the Navy and some were private contractors. These financial positions all happened to be working and concentrated in the west wing of the Pentagon that was hit. That wing was sparsely populated with employees as it had just been renovated. The renovation also included extra heavy thick walls being installed, thereby rendering any damage to that one part of the building least likely to allow damage to adjacent parts of the pentagon. The new thicker walls contained the damage somewhat. The lowest number of lives were lost, compared to the over 20,000 who work in Pentagon each day, and most of the lives sacrificed look to have had to do with work on some financial investigation project in small isolated part of the huge building. That project was presumably abruptly ended with the deaths of the workers and the general overriding importance of 9-11.

I even heard Dr. Fetzer say that some 9-11 truthers have surmised that hitting the Pentagon was sort of a last minute "add-on" to the overall planning of the 9-11 event.. Somebody saw it as a neat way to just go ahead and end all pressure on them because of the missing trillions by just wiping out the whole investigatory program of the missing money. The whole matter would certainly be forgotten about compared to 9-11. It is possible that there was some serious pressure of some kind regarding that missing money. I do not know from where that pressure may have come but it was a big important matter that was not going to go away on its own. It had to be “dealt with.”

I think in all of our thinking about what may have been the motivations related to 9-11, we have to realize that each target was carefully chosen for some strategic specific reasons. Some of the reasons most likely involved wanting to wipe out buildings and their physical contents (records and other incriminating evidences that would point the finger toward inside job). Some of the reasons related to taking out certain people. Some of the reasons related to taking out sufficiently large numbers of people to fit their game plan.

As for the hitting the Pentagon as a target, no real self-respecting terrorist and suicide bomber/pilot would be happy with just hitting only a small part of the building and killing only a small percentage of the total number of people working their that day. They would have gone for the whole enchiilada.

Pentagon trillions = Dov Zakheim ?

I'm not sure what to make of the references to the "pod" on UA175 being a flight termination thingie but I think we need to figure out how Dov Zakheim fits into the picture...

Again, during Zakheim’s tenure as Pentagon controller from May 4, 2001, to March 10, 2004, over $3 trillion dollars were unaccounted for. Additionally, military Information was jeopardized and military contractors billed the US for Israeli items: $50 million dollar fighter jets were rated as surplus and the list rolls on. As the scandal of the missing trillion dollars surfaced and Dov resigned, Israel was handed the finest fighter jets in the US inventory while 15 percent of US jets were grounded for lack of parts. In whose best interest was this?

But Dov is not alone. He is one of an elite group of Jewish Americans/Israelis who inter-marry and enter government. They and their Christian counterparts are called neocons and their sole purpose is directing US policy. Most of them are dual citizens and few serve in the US military. Think of Paul Wolfowitz, Elliot Abrams, Richard Perle, Ben Wattenberg, to mention a few. Whether their motivation is anger at the Muslim world, seen as a religious and territorial enemy, or a deep-rooted reaction to the Holocaust, the culmination of European anti-Semitism, their reactionary militarism becomes a world-threatening force unto itself. Hence our concern.

Dov and the World Trade Center

Perhaps not coincidentally in May 2001, when Dov served at the Pentagon, it was an SPS (his firm’s) subsidiary, Tridata Corporation, that oversaw the investigation of the first “terrorist” attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. This would have given them intimate knowledge of the security systems and structural blueprints of the World Trade Center. From the '90s through 2001, WTC Security was handled by Securacom, a Kuwait-American firm, on whose board Marvin Bush, the president’s brother, sat. After 9/11, Securacom was let go, changed its name to Stratosec, and was delisted from the Stock Exchange in 2002.

According to Conspiracy writers Shadow and ‘Pax’ in Dov Zakheim and the 9/11 Conspiracy, (and I suggest you look at this link) “According to the SPC website (4), a recent customer at that time was Eglin AFB, located in Florida. Eglin is very near another Air Force base in Florida-MacDill AFB, where Dov Zakheim contracted to send at least 32 Boeing 767 aircraft, as part of the Boeing /Pentagon tanker lease agreement. (5)

”As the events of September 11, 2001 occurred, little was mentioned about these strange connections, and the possible motives and proximity of Dov Zakheim and his group. Since there was little physical evidence remaining after the events, investigators were left only with photographic and anecdotal evidence.

Rumsfeld Admits 2.3 Trillion Missing on 09/10/01

That's a great McKinney clip where she flat out asks Rumsfeld about the Dynocorp slavery and sex trade scandal!!

A must see.

The core of this issue related to the attacks

[Washington Times' Insight Magazine, 5/20/2002] editorialized that "the Department of the Army, headed by former Enron executive Thomas White, had an excuse [for not making a full accounting]. In a shocking appeal to sentiment it says it didn't publish a 'stand-alone' financial statement for 2001 because of 'the loss of financial-management personnel sustained during the Sept. 11 terrorist attack."

It is more important to stress the above fact over the statement Rumsfeld made about the trillions on September 10. Rumsfeld had made similar statements before, notably on July 16 of that year. Therefore, his statement should not be interpreted to mean that it was suddenly discovered that a $2.3 trillion chunk suddenly went missing, and they timed the announcement to hide that devastating fact. Also remember that presumably he is speaking about the total from the past. The fraud in the Pentagon is an important issue, but the more important issue related to the attacks is the potential fraud enabled by the deaths of the accountants..

Here is the July 16 article:

"As you know, the Department of Defense really is not in charge of its civilian workforce, in a certain sense. It's the OPM, or Office of Personnel management, I guess. There are all kinds of long- standing rules and regulations about what you can do and what you can't do. I know Dr. Zakheim's been trying to hire CPAs because the financial systems of the department are so snarled up that we can't account for some $2.6 trillion in transactions that exist, if that's believable. And yet we're told that we can't hire CPAs to help untangle it in many respects."

Here is the Sept 10 article:

"The technology revolution has transformed organizations across the private sector, but not ours, not fully, not yet. We are, as they say, tangled in our anchor chain. Our financial systems are decades old. According to some estimates, we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions. We cannot share information from floor to floor in this building because it's stored on dozens of technological systems that are inaccessible or incompatible."

Following is an article summarizing this issue.
