The Media Works In Mysterious Ways...

Well, the Tea Parties are over, and everyone made a tremendous effort. Thank you. Seeing those pictures of the people in San Francisco made my day.

I have been hearing reports from several different people saying "this many news outlets attended, etc..."

I don't know if anyone's done a search on google, yahoo, or msn, but there is not ONE article that mentions our efforts.

With one exception. Bay Area Indymedia. And THAT was posted by a member of the movement.

However, there are SEVERAL mentions of a certain Alexander Cockburn.

2 days before the fifth anniversary, I wrote a piece that is very similar to this one entitled, "The Media Is Very Picky... I Wonder Why?"

For those that laugh at us for saying the media is "controlled", I have a few questions for you.

If the media is not "controlled", then why does it only focus on the negative as opposed to the positive?

Who does this benefit? Certainly not the people. The people are the ones that need to be informed, and if the media doesn't do its' job, then the people don't have the information they need to make good decisions.

So who does it benefit? I think you know the answer to that question. Why is that acceptable to you?

In the blog about the Philadelphia Tea Party, I posted some of the following in response to someone:

On TV Land this week, they had a show about the 100 most popular TV "catch phrases", etc...

One of them I found to be interesting was "I want my MTV."

Apparently, the cable TV outlets of the day would not carry MTV. So, people would call their local cable companies saying, "I want my MTV." The rest is history.

Granted, they had a lot of star power behind that call (cough, hack, slap, nudge).

Maybe the movement should start dedicating one day a week where everyone calls their local media outlets, and says, "I want a new investigation into 9/11."

Again though, it would have to be massive to have an impact.

How about it? I suggest that on every Tuesday, for those that are able, we take away one to two hours of our day, and commit it to calling our local and national media outlets asking for them to cover the efforts of this movement. Tie up their phone lines. As I said, this has to be a MASSIVE effort.

Tuesday because that was the day.

Sound good? Sound like a waste of time? Do you have a better suggestion? I want to know how to make the media talk.

With one great exception so far...

This.

I hope I'm wrong...

1000x over.

I also agree with this

I also agree with this point. Frankly, what is need is an international investigation. It really is , at least in my mind, the only way the ends will all seek to come about.

ignoring international courts

I agree, Andrew. However, US officials have a way of avoiding international law: they simply ignore it. Bush removed America from the treaty that sustains the ICC. I'm not a lawyer, but I think actions brought by international courts would only have effects within the country of origin. It would just limit Bush's vacation plans.

As I've said elsewhere, I think the only way forward for 9/11 Truth is a somewhat minor criminal prosecution in America that might lead to something major. Think of Al Capone being busted for tax evasion.

wow, how neutral

That was a pretty impressive little news clip, in that it simply reported what happened. It didn't try to make the truthers look like idiots or anything.

Media Treatment of 9/11

I think it is a very good idea,

basically no cost, other than time and only requires discipline on the part of truthers. We should push this idea as part of our strategy for 2007.

BTW - In the KPIX (Channel 5) video clip the 9/11 Treason sign was one of 15 I made for the occasion. Others read 9/11 Tyranny, S.F. Tea Party and Support H.R. 1106.

Be well.

Ok then...

I'm starting tomorrow.
