NEW YORK, Dec. 25 (UPI) -- ABC received a "Falsie" award for its Sept. 11 miniseries that the Center for Media and Democracy chided as the most misleading U.S. show of the year.

The organization -- described by as a "left-leaning watchdog group" by Daily Variety -- chided ABC's "Path to 9/11" as "an opportunity to rewrite history" launched by conservative filmmakers that directly contradicted the Sept. 11 commission report it was supposedly drawn from.

The Falsies are presented to shows deemed to be subliminal PR spin distorting the facts.

The runner-up for the dubious honor last week was the National Association of Broadcast Communicators, the organization that distributed pre-packaged "video news releases" that appeared to be legitimate TV news reports.

It really burns me up...

That a film filled with so many inaccuracies, and endorsed by Tom Kean, gets a ridiculous amount of media attention, but a film endorsed by the family members that fought for the creation of the 9/11 Commission that Tom Kean was chairman of, gets none.

The Time For Debate Is Over

I mean...

How can anybody explain that away as "fair, reasonable, responsible journalism, etc..."?

The Time For Debate Is Over

And it gets worse. I'm sure

And it gets worse. I'm sure I'm not the only one that sees "The Path to 911", as absurd as it is, is setting up a manufactured debate: "The Path to 911" vs. the 911 Commission Report.

Try to avoid this either/or frame--it would not surprise me that this is a dog/pony show with the express purpose of boosting the Commision Report--keep people busy using the report to critizise "Path", they might forget that the Commision Report has its own problems.

I'll call them "911 Ommission Fact" vs "Path to 911-ommission fiction".

Mythmaking

This is phase two of the mythmaking. We now have a raft of projects that bear the label, "Based on the 9/11 Commission Report." The media have not exposed the obvious fallacies of the report, and already they are racing to embrace the "based on" label as a marker of veracity. Debating the merits of the ABC series is like debating what the Bible can contribute to the "science" of "intelligent design."

All of this makes me shake my head when I hear the media (and average citizens) use the phrase "it's too soon." The phrase is supposed to indicate it is too soon for a traumatized nation to relive 9/11 through dramatization; however, the phrase should refer to the fact that it is "too soon" to consider the 9/11 Commission Report anything more than a sick joke.

propagating 'Truth' vs 'Redneck logic'...

Yep, just another pack of lies. I couldn't watch even 3 minutes into this piece o-sh*t, because I was imagining having to spend the remainder of Christmas with my in-laws, everybody grinning like Cheshire cats, going on and on about the "crazy sand n*-'s" -and how they are surely going to kill one another, whether we 'nuke' em, or not!

By Spring, we need to see the 9.11 movement blossom like a field of poppies.

Ironically, I met an Iranian man in Hollywood who had spend a similar percent of his time attempting to address the inadequacies of the -American- Film Commission Awards, by proposing the creation of an "International Film Commission Awards" -program. His knowledge was shockingly well researched, and his points irrefutable. Of course the Poles, the Germans and French and the Italians have felt 'slighted' in this way for years. Thus the success of Cannes, and Sundance, and the creation of the IFC Network.

Today, we have YouTube, but we also have a world full of media pollution. Although I won't challenge, or doubt the importance of offerings like "Loose Change", or "Terrorstorm", the Americans continue to bank on a fairly small bag-o-tricks, -always overshadowed in some way by the Majors, who will release titles like "The Matrix", designed to feed the imagination and render -ANY- conspiracy as just another foray into 'make believe'...

Therefore, we --must-- look to the Europeans, for Films that will fully embrace the real horrors implied in this environment of: Treason, Empiricism,Tyranny, Racism, Social engineering, and Grand deceipt...

Still, Oliver Stone, and Nick Cage have made the worst 9.11 cinema blunder yet!

Remember the impact of the film "the Crying Game?" Am I right to juxtapose these two entities as a clear example of a 'right' and 'wrong' way to address an ongoing catastrophe?
