New 9/11 Survey

This isn't a totally scientific survey, it's more of an activism tool. I live in California's 9th Congressional District, home to Barbara Lee, who cast the lone dissenting vote against the invasion of Afghanistan. Since she seems to have some integrity, I've been working to convince her to support a new investigation into the attacks. I suspected that the majority of people in this area doubt the official story,so I did a survey of random people on the street to use as evidence to present to Rep. Lee. Those whose answers did indeed reveal skepticism about the government story I invited to sign a petition to the rep. encouraging her to do the right thing. Thirdly, I gave everyone who participated a copy of either Terrorstorm, 911 Mysteries, or Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime. Multi-functional activism. Anyways, here's the survey and the results I got from 50 people this month:

Surveys of Perceptions about 9/11 and the Bush Administration

General Knowledge Questions
1. What year did the 9/11 attacks happen in? (86% Correct, 14% Wrong)
2. How many planes were hijacked on 9/11? (50% Correct, 50% Wrong)
3. How many buildings completely collapsed on 9/11? (26% Correct, 74% Wrong)

Opinion Questions
4. Pick the statement which most closely matches your views:
a. Members of the Bush Administration have mostly told us the truth about 9/11. (2%)
b. Members of the Bush Administration have mostly told us the truth about the 9/11 attacks themselves but made some misleading statements about the hijackers' motivations and/or connections to Iraq. (20%)
c. Members of the Bush Administration have mostly lied about 9/11. (72%)
d. None of these statements is at all close to my own views. (6%)

5. Pick the statement which mostly closely matches your views:
a. The 9/11 attacks were a complete surprise that no one could have predicted or prevented. (0%)
b. Members of the Bush Administration should have known that a major terrorist attack was coming in September of 2001. (32%)
c. Members of the Bush Administration knew that the attack on 9/11 was coming and let it happen on purpose. (30%)
d. Members of the Bush Administration were actively involved in orchestrating the 9/11 attacks. (34%)
e. None of these statements is at all close to my own views. (4%)

On a scale of 1-5 (1=very unlikely, 2=somewhat unlikely, 3=unsure/maybe, 4=somewhat likely, 5=very likely) how would you rate the likelihood of the following statements of being true:

6. The five aerial war game exercises which Dick Cheney coordinated on 9/11 were deliberately designed to thwart our normal Air Force response. (1:12%, 2:14%, 3:38%, 4:16%, 5:20%; overall 26% unlikely, 36% likely)
7. Some or all top Al-Qaeda leaders are active CIA assets. (1:6%. 2:8%, 3:26%, 4:24%, 5:36%; overall 14% unlikely, 60% likely)
8. The Twin Towers and/or WTC Building 7 were brought down by controlled demolition, i.e. pre-placed explosives. (1:24%, 2:14%, 3:12%, 4:28%, 5:22%; overall 38% unlikely, 40%likely)

20% of those questioned got all three basic facts correct. Of those, 90% believed that the Bush Administration at the very least allowed the 9/11 attacks to happen and answered somewhat likely or very likely to questions 6-8. 10% were unsure. 0% said they believed the government story.

Like I said, this isn't 100% scientifically accurate as far as polling goes, but I've done professional canvassing before, so I think I did a fairly professional job and that these numbers at least give a rough idea of what people around here are actually thinking. My district includes Berkeley and Oakland, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the numbers are a bit better than the national average of similar poll questions. Anyways, I hope this was interesting, and maybe it will prove useful as an outreach tool to get people thinking about 9/11. Part of the reason I did it was because I thought people might be more receptive if I was asking their opinion instead of just walking up and telling them mine and handing them a flyer. Another reason is that people have a psychological instinct to regard something as worthless if it's given out for free, so giving the DVD as a reward for doing the survey ought to make it more valuable in peoples' minds.

Great work, OK!!

Thanks for showing what some well thought-out initiative can produce!! To complement and support the Tea Party events that went on around the country on 12/16, I thought about initiating a petition like the one you are doing, but held off because I thought it would be making light of the wonderful efforts Bostonians and San Franciscans and Wisconsonians put into their events.

I am still formulating plans to spread the Truth here in Portland, OR.

The best Christmas present I got was a democratic majority in both houses of Congress!!

Fight on!!

Seems that only 1 in 4 people know about WTC-7. That's very poor

Yes, only 26% know about WTC7, yet 36%* don't believe the OV....

Can you imagine how high the second number would be if "7" were common knowledge...I mean, we have 36% WITHOUT a commensurate number knowing about me, the implications of this are HUGE.

"7" is the Smoking Gun, one can see those video clips, learn about that building and believe the way, no how....

People see 7 and immediately know it was an Inside Job. And then, by extension, all the administration actions and policies taken over the last 5 years that defy common sense (if you believe an Administration is supposed to serve its Citizens, all its Citizens and not just the MIC, Big Oil, bankers, and Israel at the US people's expense) make sense (in a perverted, criminal way).

Where people go then, when they can't deny this reality in their gut, is up to them. They either decide to fight this, or they shut down, believing they can't do anything about it. But, now they KNOW.

The Republican House of Cards is coming down~~

Hey Altruist~

Loved your closing line..."They either decide to fight this, or they shut down, believing they can't do anything about it. But, now they KNOW."
