Living In The "Post 9/11 World", We Have A Choice

By Jon Gold
1/3/2007

Today, our beloved President decided to "write" an Op-Ed for the Wall Street Journal.

The one thing that stood out to me, aside from the "warning" to Congress saying, "If the Congress chooses to pass bills that are simply political statements, they will have chosen stalemate. If a different approach is taken, the next two years can be fruitful ones for our nation.", was the following paragraph:

"Our priorities begin with defeating the terrorists who killed thousands of innocent Americans on September 11, 2001--and who are working hard to attack us again. These terrorists are part of a broader extremist movement that is now doing everything it can to defeat us in Iraq."

First of all, Iraq and the people fighting against Americans in Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Bush himself, admitted that the country of Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. As for the groups of people fighting our brave soldiers... If America was invaded by Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, North Korea, Russia, or China, like America invaded Iraq, would Americans that actively opposed said invasion be an "extremist movement" or would they be patriots defending their country? I guess that depends on whether or not you are the invader or the invadees.

People that say 9/11 happened 5+ years ago, and we need to move on as a nation, need to understand that the attacks of 9/11, dictate America's policies.

That one single day has created the "Post 9/11 World" where policies the people do not agree with, become the "priority", and are passed with little to NO oversight, or opposition.

I'm sure you're familiar with previous passages of bills opposed by the people like the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, and so on.

The "surge" of 20,000 troops hasn't been approved yet, but how much do you want to bet it will be? With the wand of 9/11, the sky is the limit. As has been proven time and time again.

It doesn't have to be this way. We have a choice. We have the ability to restore sanity to the United States of America.

As I said during my speech at the Philadelphia 9/11 Truth Tea Party:

Our Civil Liberties are disappearing. Wars are being fought in our name, and 1000's upon 1000's of people are dying. This country has been bankrupted while the rich have become richer. Elements of our Government have used the events of 9/11 to make all of this happen, and if 9/11 wasn't what we were led to believe, then we need to know about it, and we need to know about it now.

There are SEVERAL legitimate reasons to think the attacks of 9/11 were not what we were led to believe.

Legitimate reasons that drove 9/11 family members Donna Marsh O'Connor, Cristina Kminek, and Michelle Little to call for a new investigation at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. Legitimate reasons that drove 9/11 family members Lorie Van Auken, Mindy Kleinberg, Patty Casazza, and Monica Gabrielle to start a petition calling for the declassification of pertinent documentation related to the attacks of 9/11. Legitimate reasons that drove family members Mindy Kleinberg, Lorie Van Auken, Patty Casazza, Monica Gabrielle, Sally Regenhard, and Bob McIlvaine to endorse a documentary entitled, "9/11: Press For Truth."

We can take away their "wand of 9/11". We have a choice.

You just have to make it.

Well stated, Jon

It's nothing short of incredible the way the following two trends are maintained: (1) Bush continues to conflate Iraq and 9/11, and the media allow it; and (2) progressive activists from the anti-war and anti-globalization camps refuse to make 9/11 Truth a core issue. While the opposition to Empire is afraid to be called names by Empire and its media, Empire and its media simply proceed along their merry way saying and doing whatever they please.

Wake up, progressive community. You have been blackmailed by the rhetoric of "9/11", and unless you deconstruct the myths of 9/11 you will always be subject to its rhetorical endgame.

Worse yet, should Empire decide to conduct "another 9/11" it will be lights out. Forgettaboutit. Put your colorful banners and memorable slogans away, because that will be that. America is one false flag terrorist strike away from no return.

Thanks...

Wow! Well said, Jon! Clear, concise and to the point!
You are a true patriot, my friend. What you are doing will be remembered for years once we finally expose 9/11 Truth to the entire world.
Good work and keep it up!

Ten days after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, President Bush was told in a highly classified briefing that the U.S. intelligence community had no evidence linking the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein to the attacks and that there was scant credible evidence that Iraq had any significant collaborative ties with Al Qaeda, according to government records and current and former officials with firsthand knowledge of the matter.

But what's this?

"We went to war because we were attacked, and we are at war today because there are still people out there who want to harm our country and hurt our citizens"

Wait... what?

Do try and remember all of the times this Administration linked Iraq to 9/11 to sell the war (and are still doing today). Almost as if 9/11 was manufactured for that very reason. Hmmmm...

Around the time this poll was taken in February 2006.

Eighy-five percent said the U.S. mission is "to retaliate for Saddam’s role in the 9-11 attacks," 77 percent said they also believe the main or a major reason for the war was "to stop Saddam from protecting al Qaeda in Iraq."

All we have to fear...

is FEAR itself.

This is all I could think about while listening to our patron saint of all things progressive, Keith Olbermann, last night in his fiery, empassioned speech emploring President Bush not to "sacrifice" another American soldier in a war based on a lie.

While Mr. Olbermann's pleas were full of sound and fury, in the end... it all signified nothing. There was no mention of the unanswered questions regarding 9/11. There was nary a hint of the lies propping up the official version of 9/11. In fact, Mr. Olbermanns SILENCE on 9/11 Truth was so pronounced, it drowned out everything else he had to say.

Was it FEAR or prudence that stopped Mr. Olbermann from saying what all of us were surely thinking? Surely a man so eloquent, a man so lucid, a man so literally "Murrowesque", has the conscious awareness, or at the very least, the bandwith to figure out that WTC 7 did not fall into it's own foot print based solely on fire. Hell, even Barbara Streisand's husband is jumping on the proverbial 9/11 band wagon. And if Mr. Olbermann does (indeed) know the truth, what (pray tell) prevents him from saying something (ANYTHING) about it?

Keith... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR???

Thank you my fellow 911Bloggers for having the courage and the wisdom to truly speak truth to power. From our lips to God's ears.

Peace and blessings in 2007.

Well Said Jon

I would like to add that he was the one who let 9/11/01 happen and if he thinks we are safer, it is because he doesn't have any more plans for a new attack.

It's his Post 9/11 World but it is OUR Post 9/11 AMERICA. He forgot about all of us little people who meant nothing to him last November.
He is the extremist terrorist and we are fighting to keep our Constitutional Rights and get an independent investigation of the events that occurred on 9/11.
How about asking the United Nations now that Saddam is no longer taking up the International Courts time?

I am sure that he did not write that op-ed. Somebody else did it for little Georgie. Just like his father, the Saudis and Bin Ladens have had to bail him out from all of his other failed businesses.
Yet he is asking for Line Veto Power for the next Budget. He was the one who created the deficit. The devalued dollar doesn't mean anything to him because he was to busy getting stoned and cut that Economics class. He thinks all he has to do is wave a magic wand and the Treasury will print more money without it losing any value. I guess that is a sign of poor parenting and poor education.

How much more is China going to invest in the US Bonds before they buy the US Government from whoever is running it now?

I believe in God and I know that whether it is in this life or the next God will punish him and
Every person who supports the false front that he is trying very hard to maintain.
Every person who is or has lied about the the events of 9/11,
Every person who posts disinfo,
Everyone who stands at the Memorial for the United 93 "Crash Site" and lies about what they saw,
Every person who rigged the towers & WTC 7 for the controlled demolition,
Every insurance rep who signed off and paid insurance claims without insisting that an investigation was required before they would pay any claims,
Every lawyer who represented Mr. Silverstein and his associates and filed false and misleading court documents, and
Every government employee that has played along to get along will face their final judgements also.
God will give them what they deserve and God doesn't give in to the Bush Administration and their associates.

The new human remains that were discovered last Saturday is a sign that whatever buildings that will be put on that site before 9/11 is resolved will be haunted by the thousands of innocent victims that died and are still dying from the Presidential Post 9/11 World.

I forgot, what did the NIST report say was the cause for human bodies being pulverised ?

.

.

Something we really have to

Something we really have to keep in mind is that George W. Bush is NOT a mastermind. He's a popular front. When Presidents enter the White House, they bring with them a whole network of friends and associates with the same ideologies. This happens every time there's a new administration. For example, if you think President Bush chose John Roberts for Chief Justice, you're mistaken. He DID choose Harriet Miers, but then his people and THE people told him that decision was stupid. The popular notions of how the presidency operates are mistaken.

Tom DeLay illustrated this false notion when he used the following strawman to criticize those who believe electronic voting is dangerous to our democracy. He said something like these people believe the President took computer classes and wrote programs so that he could tamper with them come election time. Of course this strawman is ridiculous, but it shows that there is a vast network if interests working together to effect the changes we see in our country. We need to not accuse Bush so much and start analyzing how this network of interests operates.

As I was saying...

From John Feal...

Once again, Jon Gold's article is worthy of accolades and praise. This man brings brilliance and facts to the table when writing his stories, and he is 100% accurate when it comes to his comments about our President and our Government. The president's comments and the fact that he is using 9/11 as a crutch for his own personal war, is proof that this man and his "all star team" want us to remain gullible and just plain stupid. The fact is, we have a man with the I.Q. of a soap dish, and the heart of a roach running this country. I can only hope that our new Congress and the great citizens of this country decide that enough is enough George. For all the deceit, lies, denial, and human suffering he has caused, when will someone put him in his place?

In my mind that place is jail.

Appearances

Jon has every right to print such a letter, and not only a right but a need to do so.

Why is it the President can rely on a multi-billion dollar echo chamber (the msm) to repeat his every fallacy and claim solidarity with people like Feal, and yet when people like Feal actually express their solidarity with someone else (in this case, Jon Gold), that someone else is supposed to be sheepish and worry about appearances?

If Bush wants to play a game of image, then we must confront him on those terms.

— George W. Bush - State Of The Union Address - January 29th, 2002

Precise Answers to Vague Questions

Jon, as you know, the wording of a poll question can produce startling results. What does it mean to ask if Saddam "had a hand in" the jihadist attacks of 9/11/01? If the question is interpreted as asking if Saddam participated directly in those attacks by funding the attackers or sharing intelligence with them, the answer will be, no. No intelligence findings suggest that the Mukhabbarat coordinated with al Qaeda on the ground level. If the question is interpreted as asking if Saddam was hospitable to terrorists who sought to advance a radical Islamist (jihadist) agenda, as opposed to his own secular pan-Arabist one, the answer is, demonstrably, yes. Abu Nidal died in Baghdad (why, incidentally?) and Ansar al Islam was permitted to operate training camps at Salman Pak. Stephen Hayes has published a series of articles detailing the contacts between Iraqi intelligence and al Qaeda.

If you seek a precise answer, ask a precise question. Do I, personally, think that Saddam particpated in the jihadist attacks of 9/11? No--and this is an important concept for the people here--for the compelling reason that I HAVE SEEN NO EVIDENCE to suggest that he did. I may wish that I could show Saddam's direct involvement in 9/11, but I can't. Note what follows: WISHING THAT SOMETHING WERE SO DOESN' T MAKE IT SO.

Nobody, to my knowledge, has ever attempted to link Iraq directly to the attacks on America. The argument was made, persuasively in my opinion, that Saddam's implacable hostility to America would have conduced to greater cooperation between jihadists and Baathist fascists, culminating eventually in the transfer of WMD to people who were far more willing than Hussein himself to use them.

Why rational humans would make themselves appear ridiculous by insisting that two avowed enemies of America would never make common cause remains a mystery. Hitler and Stalin, you may recall, did sign a pact.

It's called insinuation. I

It's called insinuation. I did you the favor of looking it up.

INSINUATE:
1a : to introduce (as an idea) gradually or in a subtle, indirect, or covert way (insinuate doubts into a trusting mind)
1b : to impart or suggest in an artful or indirect way : imply (I resent what you're insinuating)

Bush never "blamed" Saddam Hussein for carrying out 9/11. He and Dick Cheney insinuated early on that Saddam Hussein is connected to terrorism and al-Qaeda. And terrorism and al-Qaeda, I think you will agree, are associated with 9/11.

Is this an insinuation?

Cheney said on Sunday that success in stabilizing and democratizing Iraq would strike a major blow at the "the geographic base of the terrorists who have had us under assault for many years, but most especially on 9-11."

Who Is Being Fooled?

No, Ronnie is smart, as Jon understands only too well.

Your position is quite clear. When America was attacked on 9/11, the ONLY response that would have satisfied you would have been no response at all beyond hand-wringing over what we had done to deserve such punishment. Do you really imagine that you've pulled the wool over anyone's eyes?

When the Taliban refused to hand over bin Laden, a President Jon Gold would have let the matter drop (assuming you would have asked them for bin Laden in the first place). Why attempt to blow smoke when your stance is crystal clear? You reflexively oppose ANY attempt by America to protect or advance its interests. For you, use of military force is thinkable ONLY if it can be proved in advance that America can derive NO POSSIBLE benefits.

Silly Ronny

Our priorities begin with defeating the terrorists who killed thousands of innocent Americans on September 11, 2001

Ronny... if you follow the official line, then didn't the "terrorists who killed thousands of innocent Americans on September 11, 2001" die?

And actually Ronny... if you had paid attention to any of the things I've said... when 9/11 first happened, I wanted to carpet bomb the entire Middle East.

It wasn't until I found out that we were being lied to about 9/11 that I changed my mind.

Tricky Jon

Sure, you have a good chance of slipping your whopper by me. Perhaps not on this planet, but somewhere.

Please keep in mind that you NEVER "found out" that we were being lied to about the jihadist attacks of 9/11. The bizarre movment with which you have chosen to align yourself has told many, many lies. It has produced much bogus science and has misrepresented many people and distorted their quotes. It has NEVER produced a shred of evidence in support of its outlandish, wildly implausible, and perncious claims. To dispute this FACT, you would have to, well, SHOW ME SOMETHING. You may have heard me make that request once or twice,

If I took away...

All of my knowledge of the 9/11 attacks, and deleted it from my brain, I would have to choose between you who says, "you NEVER "found out" that we were being lied to about the jihadist attacks of 9/11" and someone like Patty Casazza who says, "They lied. They all lied."

Hmmm... Decisions, decisions...

Tired Refrain

More empty rhetoric from someone associated with a movement that has nothing to offer but empty rhetoric and fabrications.

WHAT is the EVIDENCE that persuaded you that the mainstream account is false? What have the fantasists actually DISCOVERED?

No insults, no hot air--EVIDENCE.

then why are you so scared

then why are you so scared of or obsessed with us "fantasists"? your starting to come here as much as people who believe in this blogs cause. what does that say about you? you come rant and argue with "insane" people like us. you are a 50 something year old man screaming "fantasist!" and "twoofer!" on a website you believe is infested by crazy people and asking people you deem to be insane for "EVIDENCE" that has been thrown at you endlessly but which you refuse to accept because daddy government and mommy media havent vetted it. what does that say about you ronny? you have blind trust in all the wrong places old man. but its comforting right? everything so black and white? so simple? grow up, trolling websites and getting in arguments with "psychos" should be a wake up call for you. does your wife know you do this?

Your Point?

Yes, it is 100% accurate to state that Saddam Hussein had al Qaeda "ties." Now, were those ties anything more than the occasional meetings between Iraqi intelligence agents and al Qaeda fighters described by Stephen Hayes, or was a more significant operational relationship in the works? I don't know the answer, and neither do you.

Do I have "ties" to the New York Libertarian Party? Well, I occasionally host a cable show run under its auspices. I'm not an enrolled Libertarian, however, nor do I agree with the party's official position on many issues.
I guess it can be said that I have "ties." But what does that actually tell you? Bush may well be guilty of insinuating that Saddam had STRONG ties to al Qaeda. Gee, no politician has ever before attempted to put the most favorable spin on his position, right?

No Choice

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm so easy to refute. I point to various technical papers, books, reports--silly stuff like that--and you guys don't even have to try reading any of it. Why know anything when you can insult me?

Unfortunately, your preferred tactic is not a matter of choice, but of necessity. You sure as hell can't debate me.

Surely You Know Better

No, it is not an insinuation. Why do you pretend that it is? Terrorists have had us under assault for years, and not all of those terrorists have been Holy Warriors seeking to re-establish a caliphate. The jihadist attacks of 9/11 constituted the hardest blow struck by terrorists to date, but the killing of over two hundred Marines in Lebanon was not an al Qaeda operation.

Cheney's statement is completely defensible and almost certainly correct. Instead of debating the POLICY he advocates, you are creeping around the edges and offering an alternate reality.

Please...

Give what you can.

Thanks.

Jon Gold\'s tacit admission.

Elements of our Government have used the events of 9/11 to make all of this happen, and if 9/11 wasn\'t what we were led to believe, then we need to know about it, and we need to know about it now.

Jon has gone from 9/11 was an inside job to

elements of the US Government were complicit in the events of 9/11 ib> to

...if 9/11 wasn\'t what we were led to believe...

An interesting evolution.

Now read everything Jon wrote before the paragraph I quoted. Whether one disagrees with any policy Bush undertook after 9/11, no one disagrees that the events of 9/11 were the impetus for the policies, as Jon himself admits.

Jon\'s tacit admission? It should be clear to anyone having read all of Jon\'s pronouncements on 9/11 both here and on his site, his lack of critical thinking and illogical thinking processes, his reliance on innuendo and, lately, on his own psychic readings, and his refusal to back up his assertions despite having been asked repeatedly to do so for the last six months, that Jon has never had any evidence to begin with.

No Jon has admitted to us all along that he has never needed to demonstrate that 9/11 was an inside job.

For everything Jon wrote above before the paragraph I quoted is an open admission that 9/11 did not have to be an inside job for Jon\'s beliefs about Bush\'s policies to be true.

Now Jon Gold is one of the most illogical people in the 9/11 Truth Movement, always trying to allude to any matter of suspicious thing as being an indication that 9/11 was an inside job, and most likely does not even recognize his tacit admission. But we knew it all along. Jon Gold has never been able to produce any hard evidence, circumstantial or otherwise, to back up his assertions.

And now he has admitted why.

considering this article isn't intended to preach to the "choir"

the "if 911 wasn't what we were led to believe statement" is merely an outreach to those who are not "the choir".

I have never seen Jon say "911 was an inside job".

However, "elements of our government were complicit in the attacks" is similar to "inside job", the only difference is "inside job" makes it sound like an entirely run operation within the US, which I don't, and many others don't believe.

I believe it is you who is being illogical and simply using wordplay in order to prove a point, a point which doesn't exist.

And why shouldn't any suspicious thing be questioned? That's why it's suspicious. I for one would rather have every suspicious thing looked into than to keep my head in the sand and ignore it.
